Nach Baliye 4 jodis
Though Star Plus is throwing names of cricketers and big stars as participants on Nach Baliye 4, a channel birdie tells us that the contestants are all telly actors! The Wizcraft show is slated to air from October 10 onwards. The names of the jodis doing the rounds include Naman Shaw - Megha, Shaleen Bhanot - Daljit Kaur, Vineet Raina - Tanushree, Sudeep Sahir - wife Anantika, Shraddha Nigam - Karan Singh, Reshmi Ghosh - Amit Gupta, Mohit Malik - Aditi Shirvekar, Sara Khan - Ali Merchant and Kapil Nirmal and Anjali Abrol. Guess they will rope in one or two starry jodis. Farah Khan is one of the judges. The other two have yet to be finalised. Last year's winners Aamir Ali and Sanjeeda will host the show.

You may be tempted to call him an addition to the Rajasthan bandwagon in Mumbai, and it?s likely that television actor Kapil Nirmal would wear this tag as a compliment. Indeed, this proud Jaipurite would give anything to be associated with the Pink City.

?Everything in Jaipur is so royal and exotic that it is difficult for a person like me, born and brought up in the city, to adjust to other cities. Jaipur is the most classic city one can be in,? says this lead actor of a popular daily soap.

Back in the Pink City after eight months, Kapil feels that the difference, in the city that he had behind, and the city that he sees now, is palpable. ?It is so amazing to see how much the city has changed in just eight months and the most interesting thing is that in spite of the transition, the old charm of the city remains intact,? says Kapil who left for Mumbai after he was offered a plump role in the daily soap, which he claims is, ?interesting and a far cry from the saas bahu sagas.?

Kapil was pursuing his MBA degree when while working for an ETV show, he got the offer to play his present character where he?s called Kunwar Yudhisthir.

?I didn?t balk from getting into showbiz. After all, acting is my passion, and my parents were very supportive of my decision,? he explains. And though he is making a place for himself in Mumbai steadily, Jaipur still attracts him. ?The most important thing that I crave for in Mumbai is driving on wide roads. I miss driving to Nahargarh like anything,? adds Kapil.

Even as he chatted with JT, well-wishers and fans pour in to congratulate him on his success. This warmth seems to add a new zing, even as he says, ?I have to make a name for myself in acting, just not for me and my family, but for the people of my city.

Life in the showbiz has been anything but smooth sailing for Delhiite Amit Dua. When he bagged Ram Gopal Varma's 'Let's Catch Veerappan', it was a dream-come-true moment for him. In what was to be a setback to him, the project got shelved. Not one to brood over failures, he crossed over to television, bagging a role with the coveted banner of Balaji Productions. As of now, Amit is leading a 'princely' life with his role in Star Plus' 'Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat'. Amit spoke to us about his role and more.

My role…
I play the parallel lead in "Raja Ki Aayegi Barat" called Rudra. The character has both positive and negative shades to him. Being a modern young prince, he has several differences with his father. He blindly follows his mom's words who plays the main negative character.

I took it up because…
Someone from the channel liked my looks and suggested my name. I liked my character in the story; I find it stylish and wonderful. And there is a lot of similarity to my personal character excepting the negativity.

The challenge…
I had to learn some horse-riding and I have not had any previous experience with that. I hurt myself many a times but it is all a learning experience. I also need to drive a left-hand Mercedes with super speed. And the long working hours are very tiring.

Preparations for the role…
Nothing actually. I play a prince and am living life king size. Unlike my messy looks in other shows, here I have my hair neatly set back and I'm clean shaven. I just hate it and am finding it very difficult to maintain.

Working with Balaji…
I have worked with them previously and was supposed to be a part of Karam Apna Apna but since I had some differences with the creative people, I didn't do it. The experience was good but not all that great. Initially I was enthusiastic; I was a baby in the industry then. But with time, I realized that I have to move on and experiment with different roles.

Roles I like…
I would love to take up any role that is unique and challenges me as an actor.

The balance between personal and professional life…
I have no time for my personal life. I work more than 12 hours a day and spend the little time I get on work-outs.

In my free time…
I prefer going on vacations. Playing videogames on my X-Box. I am also a very sporty guy and love playing billiards.

If not an actor, I would be…
A wrestler.

Small screen vis--vis big screen…
There is no comparison. I work for the small screen and it is my bread and butter; and I do respect the medium. But the final destination for an actor is the big screen where you can truly show your talents. It is easy to act on TV but not films; everything is noticed in films. I do have plans for movies but as of now my focus is on the small screen.

Daily soaps vis--vis reality shows…
Daily soaps are my life. I hate the existing reality shows. Few of them are good but most of them are frustrating. The latest reality show 'Ticket to Bollywood' is very upsetting. At the end of day there is little difference between the contestants and the celebs; there is more of fighting and shouting in the show.

On TV, I watch…
AXN, Star Plus, Headlines Today, NDTV and I love animated films.

In the pipeline…
Nothing really but I am under the process of coming up with a reality show with the help of my friends. We are coming up with a concept and are talking terms; I am looking for the right person. I really cannot give the details unless things finalize. Making money is my focus right now.

However, even after repeated calls, none of the participants confirm that they are part of Nach Baliye.

On the Judges? panel, the news coming in is that the sexy siren Mallika Sherawat has been approached as one of the judges. ?She has charged a bomb for being on the judges? chair, but looks very keen and excited to be part of the show. The channel and the production house are also in talks with Karisma Kapoor?, says our well-placed source. ?As of now, it is only Farah Khan who has been finalized as judge?, adds our source.

On the hosting front, ?Aamir Ali and Sanjeeda Sheikh are confirmed? states our khabroo.

We caught up with dashing model Amit Dua for his take on fashion and we must say, he had some really interesting answers for us.

Fashion to me is… I don't believe in trends. Fashion to me is anything that looks good on me.
