**** Got this from NB section ****

Chetan and Lavinia evicted from NB4
Chetan Hansraj and wife Lavinia, who found themselves in the bottom two ever since they made their late entry to the show, are finally out of Nach Baliye 4.
A source from the show informs, "Chetan – Lavinia, Anjali Abrol – Kapil Nirmal and Reshmi – Amit Gupta found themselves in the bottom three. Reshmi and Amit were declared safe and the fight was between Chetan – Lavinia and Anjali – Kapil. Unfortunately, it was Chetan and Laviinia who lost out. Chetan and Lavinia entered in the show as the last jodi, that was introduced at the later stages of the show, and yet managed to survive for two weeks. However, they couldn't escape the bullet this time. The public preferred Anjali and Kapil over them."
Meanwhile, Hiten and Gauri have now become permanent hosts of the show. This pair had begun their journey on NB4 last week. "They are one of the most popular couples of TV and have been accepted warmly by the audiences. The guest of honour was Anushka Sharma of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi fame," concludes our source.
When contacted Hiten, who earlier mentioned that they will be hosting only two episodes of the show, said, "Yes, we will continue to host the show and will keep hosting it till the end. We have got a good response from everyone so the channel has decided to continue with us. It was great to have a celebrity in Anushka Shankar on the show. She is a very warm person and has no airs. She spoke to each and everyone on the sets."
Viewers can catch Chetan and Lavinia's eviction on 3 January at 8.00 pm on Star Plus.

2008: Year for TV Coupling!

This has been good year for most of the television couples as they walked up the altar. And it wasn't only about tying the knot, many interesting jodis were also formed in 2008.

Sachin Shroff and Juhi Parmar
The most surprising couple of the year is Sachin Shroff and Juhi Parmar. The two have never worked together. But yet five years after knowing each other the couple realized that they are in love. The couple is ready to tie knots on February 15 next year.

Ali Merchant and Sara Khan
Ali and Sara is another interesting and famous pair in tellyland. The couple met at a hotel and Ali's friend Jay Bhanushali played cupid for them. Sara used to visit Ali's mother's parlor regularly.

Karan Singh Grover and Shraddha Nigam
After going out for a year, the duo got married this month. It was quite a surprise decision especially since news of the two having problems were also doing the rounds earlier this year. However they secretly got married on December 2 in Goa. They met each other at the party and Karan offered Shraddha a drop but then they sat at a coffee shop till 8 am in the morning.

Kapil Nirmal and Anjali Abrol
Kapil and Anjali are one of the youngest couple from the world of television. Anjali who is originally from Kashmir is still in junior college. They met on the sets of their first ever show Raja Ki Aayegi Barat and started enjoying their company. The couple is hot favourite amongst youngsters and is part of Nach Baliye's current season.

Mouni Roy and Gaurav Chopra
The news of Mouni and Gaurav getting together definitely took everyone by surprise. Previously Gaurav was dating Narayani Shastri but on the sets of Zara Nachke Dikha, Mouni and Gaurav became good friends and started hanging out together for movies and all. Interestingly Narayani Shashtri was also part of this show. And it is only recently that Mouni openly announced her relationship with Gaurav.

City of dreams and some nightmares!
6 Jan 2009, 0000 hrs IST, SMITA ROY , TNN

"My dreams have come true," says Kanica Maheashwari, who's seen as the scheming princess in Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat.
    Kanica Maheashwari (TOI photo)

How have her dreams come true? "Well, coming to Mumbai and doing good work. I had heard that this is the city of dreams and after I landed here, it became my reality too," she says. Incidentally, acting was never on her mind.

"It might sound cliched but frankly acting wasn't really my childhood dream! I was more into Vaastu and Metaphysics. I was also a certified consultant, which I still am. But then, I had enough time on my hands and I didn't really know what to do. My mom suggested I take up acting classes as it would keep me busy." With the appreciation she got from her teachers and classmates, her confidence grew and she thought of giving acting a serious thought. "Before I realised, my dreams of tinseltown had begun and voila, I was in Mumbai... bags baggage et al!" she laughs.

But this city of dreams has also given her a nightmare. As she recalls what had happened with her some years back, she brings forth visions and stories of many others who had shared this similar fate. It was the July 26 rains when the waters had laid siege in Mumbai. Kanica was caught up in the torrential waters as well and she had to swim out her way and bid adieu to her beloved car as well. She recalls, "The waters started filling inside the car and I realised this was not the usual heavy rains that the city witnesses, but was much more grave a condition. I was more hurt as it was my first car in the city and my only soulmate who would be there with me almost all the time! But this never kept me sulking. In fact it gave me a newer zest to work harder, to not just buy another car but also a house and other things. Today, I can gladly say that I have them all and I'm content with the place that I've made for myself in the city."

Amit Dua hit by a Bull

Amit Dua, who plays Rudra in Raja ki Aayegi Baraat, recently got hurt while shooting for a sequence. The sequence had a bull chasing Rudra but the bull eventually hit Amit twice thereby injuring the actor.
"I was shooting for this sequence where Chandu, one of the villagers who wants to take revenge from me, instructs a bull to chase me. This bull suddenly got out of control and hit me twice from the back and I fell down. And I ended up pulling a muscle," explains the actor.
"I got a muscle pull in my right leg and it started bleeding too but I didn't go to the doctor as I don't believe in doctors. I am the doctor for myself," he adds.

So how is he taking care of his leg?

"I just took some pain killers and applied some ointment and I am perfectly fine now," replies the courageous man who still continued to shoot after being hit, "Shooting karte time aisi chhoti moti choten toh lagti hi rehti hain."

"My director told me ki scene mein pata chal raha hai ki there's some problem with my leg toh firr doosre take mein maine dard ko side mein rakha aur bhaagne waala shot theek se diya," adds the actor.

    Earrings cause discomfort for Kanica!

    by Vidhya Krishnan

    Jan 20, 2009, Bangalore

Kanica Maheshwari, who plays Rajkumari Bhoomi in 'Raja Ki Aayegi Barat' on Star Plus, has been feeling very uncomfortable with the long earrings required for the role. Kanica has been sporting very long earrings from day one for the character and can't remove them when she wants to because they are tied to her hair. Off the set, she usually doesn't wear earrings.

"The earrings are freaking heavy," said Kanica. "I wear them for close to 12 or 13 hours a day and having them for so long is really difficult. But that is the kind of look that the character requires and I have no other go but to be bound to this. I can't even remove the earrings since they are connected to the hair. Yes, it does affect me and it shows when it requires me to do some movements."

She continued: "I am the opposite when it comes to dress sense in real life. I am very much like a girl-next-door…very casual and I mostly wear jeans and a T-shirt. I don't wear any accessories except rings."

Kanica added: "I have been wearing such heavy, long earrings from day one and it has been almost a year now. It was very nice initially but later got stressful; it has taken a lot out of me and caused lumps on my ears. But anyways, I have got the attention so it is a price that is being paid."

Well, Kanica should know by now that such issues come with the territory and one must learn to deal with them.

I can get dirty, says Kanica Maheshwari
    by Vidhya Krishnan
    Jan 21, 2009, Bangalore

What is it about the lifestyle of celebrities that draws everyone's attention? Is it the gossip we hear or the seemingly wonderful lives they lead that attract us? We may hear a lot but we never get the real picture about who they really are. For our column on 'Lifestyle', Kanica Maheshwari talks about her life.

    I am…a simple person.

    I love…being happy always.

    I hate…liars.

My inspiration…I feel inspired when I look at people who work hard…be it anybody.

    My strength…my family!

    My weakness…my emotional nature!

Marriage is…a complicating and difficult thing.

Lust is…a momentary thing that goes off.

I'm attracted to…genuine people and genuine things.

I drive…a Honda ZX, Accord, but I love Bentleys though.

Maybe a gizmo person...? Only mobile phones!

My recent purchase…some cosmetics and perfumes.

I get sweaty and dirty…in the literal sense, I do whenever I'm in the gym but in the figurative sense, I can get dirty when people mess with me.

Maybe a water person…? I love water and like playing in the water. I like water sports as well.

I just finished reading…I am interested only in spiritual books; that is because of my parents and my upbringing. It gives me strength, moral support and keeps me calm.

Most treasured moment…there are a lot but recently my dad said that he feels proud of me and those words are really precious to me.

I smile…I am a jolly person so silly things, dirty jokes, hilarious stuff bring a smile to my face.

When I'm angry, I blow off steam by…whenever people get nasty with me, mess with me or raise their voice, I'll give it right back to them then and there.

If I woke up one morning and discovered that I had turned into a man, I would…wow! I'll be like…welcome to the man's world. Gender doesn't matter to me – what I feel is important is to be a good human being.

Was my first crush in the ninth grade? It was when I was in my eighth grade on Peter Andre.

I'm obsessed about…personal things like clothes, pillows and stuff like that.

    I'm fussy about…food.

One thing I would change about myself…my height.

I would love to go to a desert island with…I would like to spend time with Brad Pitt and Shahid Kapoor drinking all night.

My idea of a perfect date…the date has to be exciting, thrilling and full of surprises, gifts. My man has to pamper me all through and be praisey. I would prefer having it somewhere outside India.

My first date…it goes way back when I was in my 11th grade with a Delhi guy…we went on a drive.

My dream date…still searching for one.

    Hugs or kisses…kisses are nice.

My ideal man is…he should be genuine, sensible and a little attractive so that all the girls feel jealous.

Most cherished compliment…it was from my ex-boyfriend who told me that things look beautiful when I am around.

Friends first or lovers? Friends always!

My worst habit is…I talk a lot.

Weirdest dream…I saw myself on my death bed.

I feel most comfortable when…when I am in the arms of my mother.

When not working…I sleep, do yoga, catch up with friends, do grocery shopping, cook and stuff like that.

    I get high on…appreciation.

My last holiday was…it was some time in November last year in Goa to celebrate my dad's birthday.

Reality show or soap…I haven't done a reality show but daily soaps are tiring and demanding. So I really am not in a position to choose between the two.

If it was my last day on earth…I'll go back to my loved ones.

At the moment, I want…I am praying for peace and complete happiness around without any chaos.

My weekend is…to be connected to nature, go horse riding, and do something adventurous.

Bollywood or small screen…I am open to whatever comes my way.

I believe in…my sixth sense…I feel that I have a strong power of intuition.

And my future is…bright, nice and flowery.

Philosophy of life…be confident, come what may…the rest will follow.
