Just recently, I read the story about Tulsi and how she was cursed in Golok.......

I had a few questions about this story:

1. Didn't Krishna and Radha play raas in Vrindawan, which was on Earth? Weren't these characters already on earth? How can they be cursed to born on earth? Unless they were cursed to be REBORN?...

2. Firstly, what is Golok? Where is Golok? Does Golok refer to the specific spot on earth where they played raas? Or did this spot transcend into another universe? I know from my visit to Vrindawan that the place where the raas was placed is sealed during nights......also u can hear the sounds of the raas going on.......however, whoever goes in and tries to observe..........u never hear of them again.........is this specific location what is referred to as Golok????? Is it not a part of earth????

I don't get it.....I am very confused.........I always thought Krishna's stories took place on earth.........well........at least the raas part.....

Also, in the story, it mentions another character named Sudama........who married Tulsi......my question is:

Wasn't this guy's name SRIdama..........Sudama is the guy who stole the chana from Krishna.............the guy who was his friend in Vrindawan was SRIDAMA........as far as I know.........please correct me if I'm wrong.....

Some member of this forum posted a question on tulsi puja and I wrote the story behind why tulsi is worshipped. I guess you are talking about that story.

Let me add further. In the spiritual world, various forms of Vishnu reside eterally. Vishnu lives in Vaikunth, Ram in Saket, and Krishna in Golok. Some people call Saket as Ayodhya. But this may cause confusion with Ayodhya on Earth where Ram incarnation happened. Therefore, it is better to stick to the name Saket. In Valmiki Ramayan, Ram has mentioned Saket as his dham(sacred abode) a few times. Vaikunth, Saket, Golok - therse are all present in spiritual world and they are eternal. According to another classification, Saket and Golok are considered as part of Vaikunth. Both classifications mean the same - the difference is only in naming scheme.

Lord Shiv eternally lives in Mahesh dham.
