Chapter 4
As dawn broke out all four of them made their way to Delhi. Ayesha sat two compartments behind Zack, she wore a burkha to help keep herself covered and Zack, well there really was no recognising him, he packed himself as an old man with a beard that never seemed to end 'man if you end up looking like that as we get older I may as well give up on you now' Ayesha said cringing at the sight of him.
Zoya clad in her bikers outfit and helmet parked on the other side of the airport entrance wanting to make sure Asad was ok. As she sat following his every move her phone vibrated 'I am ok Zoya...you can leave now...see you soon In Sha Allah' Zoya smiled , she put her phone away and then turned her bike around zooming off into the illuminating sky.
Asad was the first to reach Delhi, he checked into his hotel and settled into his room, he was tempted to call the others but knew it would be better not to. Ayesha and Zack were two hours away and Zoya still had another 5 hours to go, why she decided to go by road only she knew.
As night approached Zoya continued to speed down the road until she saw a head light that seemed to follow her every move. 'Catch me if you can' she said to herself smiling, catching her was precisely what the other bike intended to do and Zoya was ready for them. As she reached a secluded country road Zoya started to slow down bringing the bike to a complete halt, she waited for the other bike to do the same before she turned the bike around to face them.
The two men jumped off the bike as they did they pulled out guns 'boys and their toys...when will they ever learn'. Zoya jumped off her bike and stood next to it waiting for them to make their first move, being the impatient person she was Zoya took off her helmet and started to walk towards them, as she did they did the same. One of the guys held up the gun to her face 'give me one good reason why I shouldn't pull the trigger' Zoya let out a chuckle and pushed his gun away 'please...without me you will never get what you want...so if I were you I would stop acting like a fool' the guy put his gun away and smiled at her 'you keep deviating from the plan' 'I do what I have to and what is necessary at the time, the main plan, the end result will be the same...now if you have finished with your games I have somewhere I need to reach...wait for my call and until then stay away' 'what about AZ01, when did he become part of the plan, we see you are getting a little too close for comfort' Zoya narrowed her eyes 'that is none of your business, he may not be part of our plan but he certainly is part of mine...what I do or how close I get is up to me...like I said stay away'
The minute Ayesha and Zack reached Delhi they checked into the same hotel two room apart from Asad. 'Zack, have you heard anything...do you think I should call?' Zack understood Asad's concern 'you know you can't man...she will be here don't worry, she is stronger and wiser than all of us put together'. As they were talking Ayesha contacted one of her informers, she was in charge of finding out more about Haider and Humera's death. As soon as she put the phone down she came to them looking perplexed 'what happened?' Zack asked. 'It's one of us...I mean it has to be someone on the inside...we have a traitor...someone is working with Commando or whoever it is tracking us...someone Haider and Humera knew and trusted' Zack and Asad looked at her in shock 'how is that possible and why would someone do that, we all left there in the same state and...no I can't believe for a second that someone would go against their own people their own family...'
Asad placed his hand over Zack's shoulder 'when was your last assignment?' Zack looked at Ayesha 'three years ago, you heard about the foreign delegation that were killed leading up to the international youth conference?' 'That was you two?' 'Yes, it was and after that we decided enough was enough and left' 'who was giving you your assignments?' 'Tariq Mishra...how about you?' 'After I had established myself here I stopped, I must have carried out two but it all seems a faded memory now, something I find hard to bring back...despite anything I still can't believe that one of us would betray the Dark Angels, it goes against everything we have lived for' 'Asad you forget that there were Angels that left before us and came after us, it's been 15 years man...anything is possible, it could be someone from the...' 'no' Ayesha said 'only the people from our batch have been killed...including us four there are two others left' 'who?' Asad asked, as Ayesha was about to reply their phones started to vibrate, picking up their phones they saw a message from Zoya.
Am ok, be there by 10.00pm
Asad sighed in relief 'another 4 hours...I think it would be safe to set up now' Asad, Zack and Ayesha set up all their computer equipment. Ayesha went over everything they had on Haider and Humera's murders 'Ayesha last year we heard that Raman and Adil were also killed, they were in Spain at the time...can you check on their case too...if it is the same people behind all these killings then there have to be similarities somewhere, or even better maybe we can find the missing link or connection' Zack said as he sat going through his laptop.
Asad couldn't bring himself to think straight, when it came to his gut feeling he was never wrong and he knew he was not wrong this time. He refused to believe that Commando was behind all this, he wasn't sure if he was still alive but even if he was there was no way he could kill his own children. Asad walked out the room leaving Ayesha and Zack to continue working, as Asad walked outside he saw a line of cars, with a lot of security around 'what the hell is going on here?' Asad walked up to the reception desk 'excuse me, what is all the rush for?' 'Oh we have the East Asia summit being hosted here, some of the delgates from our neighbouring countries are arriving today, they will be staying here'. As soon as Asad heard he ran back up stairs and stormed into the room 'why Delhi, why this hotel, why today?' he shouted out. Ayesha and Zack stood up looking at him confused 'you want to repeat that so it makes sense?'
The East Asia Summit is being held here in this hotel, delegates are arriving as I speak...something is not right there is something bigger being planned, I don't believe for a second that Zoya couldn't have known about this, she must have known' 'Asad, have you lost it...Zoya would never expose us or put us in danger like this, I don't think she knew...but maybe you are right about something going down, we will need to look into it, find out who is already here and what this all about'.
Zack started to try and find out what the summit was about and which countries were involved. Asad took out his phone and called Zoya 'come on pick up Zoya...pick up' the phone went to voice mail 'Zoya its Asad, please call me as soon as you get this message, its urgent'. It had almost been an hour since Asad called and still there was no response.
'We have India, Pakistan, China, Sri Lanka and Japan coming...the strange thing is that none of this has been covered by the media, why the secrecy?' 'What is their agenda?' Asad asked 'leave that to me, I'll be back as soon as I have something in hand' Ayesha said leaving the room faster than they could blink.
Asad picked up a number of newspapers that were laid out on the table and started going through them to see if they had missed anything 'Asad stop growling, you are not going to find anything in them, this meeting was kept top secret for a reason...and only Ayesha will be able to find out what' Asad threw down the newspapers in frustration, as he got up his eyes caught something. He picked up the newspaper again and started reading and as he started to tie up the loses strings that were swimming in his head did his eyes widened with disbelief.
'Unbelievable...Asad, you will never guess...Raima and Kamil were killed two months ago in...' 'Milan' Asad finished off his sentence. Zack looked up at him 'yeah...but how did you know' 'I just did...Ayesha was right Zack, it's one of us...one of our own people, one of our Angels that is killing us...the killing machine, the devil is not Commando Zack it's an Angel turned evil'. Asad closed his eyes and felt a sharp pain consume his entire being 'I need to...' As he was still talking the door opened, Ayesha walked in with Zoya behind her.
Zack stood up and ran up to Zoya giving her big hug, 'Ya Allah, thank you so much...are you ok?' he asked cupping her face 'yes I am totally fine..' Zoya looked up at Asad, she slowly walked towards him and as she did Ayesha pulled at Zack's arm 'let's give them a moment' she said giggling.
As the door closed behind them Zoya turned towards Asad and quickly wrapped her arms around him, Asad lifted his hand and hugged her back 'you didn't call back Zoya, do you know how worried I was?' 'I am sorry I couldn't I needed to get here as fast as I could' Zoya held the side of his face in her hand and then tip toed up to place a soft kiss on his lips, she kept on pecking his lips until Asad started to kiss her back. Asad kissed her with intense passion, Zoya stepped back but Asad refused to let go or every step she took back he took one forward until she hit the wall. Asad held both her hands in his and pinned them to the wall behind as he continued with his sweet slaughter. Zoya pulled her face back to take in a much needed breath, she looked deep into his eyes, there was something different about the way he looked at her, he looked as if a Lion looked at its prey, his eyes had turned a few shades darker 'Asad I...' Asad placed his finger over her lips to shush her, he stroked her bottom lip making her break out into a shiver. Asad leaned in again to kiss her lips softly 'I love you Zoya' Zoya wrapped her arms around his neck 'I love you too Asad'.
