It looks like you decided to talk about the haystack too.

I also noticed the scene between Aahil and Rehan, did you write it since the preview of the show or you wanted to tweak it?

I liked the jealousy bits cause I am evil :)

Epilogue - "Kyon Khi It's Fate"

"Shukran Allah Wallah Hamdul Illah...Shukran Allah Wallah Hamdul Illah...Nazron Se Nazrein Mili To...Jannat Si Mehki Fizayein...Lab Ne Jo Lab Chu Liya To...Aasmaan Se Barshi Duyaien...Aise Apni Mohabbat ...Aise Rooh-E-Ibaadat...Hum Pe Meherbaan Do Jahan"

Sanam stirred in Aahil's arms. They had fallen asleep after making love for a second time. Sanam remembered what Aahil had said when she had protested that he had only got back from the hospital that afternoon. "All faculties are working fine". Well she had to concede they were. It didn't seem that his knock on the head or painful shoulder was impeding him in any way when it came to his prowess in bed. It seemed there were many positions one could take to avoid putting pressure on sore arms. Now thinking of it she blushed, but at the time, she had been more than eager and willing. How did he make her forget everything and act like such a wanton? The man really was a Jin, she thought. Her very own Jin, who had turned her into his own personal love slave. Her husband was hot. No wonder women were chasing him all over the place. Well, they can all just go hang now, coz Aahil Raza Ibrahim belonged only to her, and Sanam Ahemed Khan, now Sanam Raza Ibrahim, does not share. She knew she was not his first, and that is something she had known from the first day she laid eyes on him. But she wanted to be his last, and his only one. But most importantly, she was his first "Love", and that is all that mattered in the end.

She smiled as she remembered what had happened an hour ago when she had woken up after they first made love. Aahil had been asleep and she got out of bed to go to the bathroom. She realised that her clothes were all scattered about next to the bed where Aahil had removed them one by one. She quickly grabbed some fresh undies from her drawer and put them on, and collected the scattered clothes from her side of the bed, and tiptoed to his side to see what was lying on the floor there. She got his pants and his shirt and underwear. She looked at his white shirt and thought she should just put it on. She didn't fancy changing into one of her suits. It was too much work. So she put on Aahil's shirt and took the clothes and went into the bathroom. A few minutes later she came back out. She took a fresh pair of boxers from Aahil's drawer and put it on his bedside table. After all, he will need it when he woke up. Suddenly her eyes went to the other side of the room where the white couch was. She saw the scattered Kheer, and she shook her head. Aahil and his theatrics! WHY did he have to fling that thing away to make a point? He could have just put it on the coffee table and still made his point? NO, he had to make a grand gesture. The drama! He could be such a girl sometimes, she thought supressing a giggle. Somehow she felt a guy as macho as Aahil would not appreciate being compared to a girl.

She went to the bathroom and brought out a roll of paper towels that she kept in there to wipe the counter and started to wipe the scattered kheer. She soon had most of it in the towels and the bowl and tray were set aside. She knew she could have waited till tomorrow to get that cleaned, maybe even asked Lattif to do it, but she just could not. She could not look at that mess. She hated mess.

Aahil stirred from his sleep and looked next to him. Where was Sanam? He then heard a noise on the other side of the room. Sanam was there gathering something from the floor. Wait...was she wearing HIS shirt? He had never seen Sanam in anything that short before. Funny that he had either seen her fully clothed, covered from head to toe, or not clothed at all. Nothing in between. No sexy short dresses, not even a nightie? Well he had to remedy that. He should get his gorgeous wife a whole heap of sexy night clothes to model just for him. Not that he needed any extra help to want her like crazy, but still, it would be good to see her in something new. He had no idea that anyone else would look this good in his shirt? But he had to concede she looked damned hot in it. He turned to get out of bed and his eyes fell on the bedside table. Fresh boxers were lying on top of it. He shook his head and smiled. Trust his prim and proper wife to make sure he had fresh underwear. He noticed that all the clothes they discarded before were also missing. She sure didn't like a mess. He put on the boxers and walked over to where Sanam was. He then realised what she was doing. She was cleaning? Oh...she was cleaning the mess from the Kheer he had thrown. Sanam had put everything on the coffee table and just stood up to see Aahil standing in front of her with his arms folded over his chest.

"What are you doing Sanam"?

"Can't you see what I'm doing? I am cleaning the mess you made"?

"At this time? Do you really need to do that now? I mean, you could have got Latiff to clean it tomorrow?"

"Tomorrow? And sleep knowing that mess is still lying on the floor? No way."

"You really are OCD aren't you"?

"No I'm not. I just like things clean, and a certain way".

"That IS called OCD Sanam", said Aahil supressing a smile.

"My Badi Ammi says, that's what my Dad was like. He always wanted things a certain way. He always had his coffee the same way, and he even wanted all the cups and plates and everything on the table arranged just so".

"Wow...he sounds like the other end of the spectrum. I think you may not be that bad"!

"Hey...mind what you say about my Abbu. Badi Ammi says, he was a very special guy. Yes he was OCD as you say, but he was still very caring towards the people he loved".

Aahil went quiet for a moment listening to how Sanam spoke of her Father. She barely remembered him, but what she did were good memories. The things people told her were good too. Her Dad sounded like a good guy. If only HE had such memories of his father? Not everyone was so lucky. All the memories he had were not worth remembering. He had spent most of his life trying to forget them.

"Are you OK Aahil"? Said Sanam who realised that Aahil had gone all quiet suddenly.

"Yeah. I'm fine."

Sanam pushed her hair off her forehead and in doing so his shirt rode up a bit more over her thighs. He suddenly forgot his morose thoughts as he got lost in his wife's beauty.

"You're wearing my shirt" he murmured.

"Oh...yes...I just put it on coz I didn't want to get out a whole suit...I.."

"It's OK baby. You look hot in it. In fact so hot, that I feel jealous. No one should look better in my shirt than me. So I want it back". He said reaching for her.

She shook her head and moved back.

"No"? He said, moving towards her.

"Na..ah" she said moving even further back.

"So that's how you want to play it? Fine baby. Let's play". He said smiling, and started stalking her, at which Sanam started to run and she ended up at the door with her back against it.

"Looks like you're trapped baby" said Aahil who caged her between his arms.

"No I'm not" said Sanam who ducked from under his arm and ran back into the room.

Aahil made quick work of her progress and was next to her in seconds. She was now against the cupboard in the room. This time she really was trapped. Aahil took her hands and placed them on either side of her head and held them there with his.

"So...now what do you say sweetheart? Are you ready to return my property to me?"

"What if I say No?"

"I guess then I will have to use force. No more Mr Nice Guy"!

"YOU...Mr Nice Guy?"

"Sassy ha? Looks like I will have to shut that beautiful mouth of yours", he said as he bent his head and took her lips in a kiss. Soon they were locked in a passionate kiss and Aahil's hands had let go of Sanam's on the cupboard and went around her waist to pull her flush against him. Sanam was standing on her tiptoes in her attempt to get as close to Aahil as possible. Her hands held his shoulders. Aahil's hands went under the shirt and started to caress her bare waist. His hands cupped her breasts and started to knead them. Sanam moaned at the sensation. Aahil tore his mouth away from her for a moment and murmured against her lips.

"I love that sound you make".

Sanam blushed, and Aahil shook his head.

"How do you blush like that? Almost on cue? It's too cute".

"Stop teasing me".

"I'm not teasing. It's true. You're too cute, and too hot. Especially in my shirt. But I am serious baby. I DO want it back".

"Then I guess you will just have to take it off me"? Whispered Sanam.

"Why you little witch. One minute you don't want me to have it, and you make me run around the room, and the next minute, you want me to take it off you?"

"I changed my mind. Women's prerogative".

"Chicks man". Said Aahil lifting Sanam up a few inches off the floor.

"Aahil I told you not to put pressure on your arms"?

"Don't worry babe, I am just walking backwards to the bed".

A few steps later Aahil fell on the bed with Sanam on top of him.

"Aahil...am I crushing you"?

"Your feather weight can't crush me baby" laughed Aahil. "I'm liking this role reversal. I think we should maintain this position"?

"This position"?

"Oh...my innocent Sanam...Yes...this position"

"I know what this position is. I am not that innocent. I've seen Emran Hashmi movies"! said an indignant Sanam.

"In that case...why don't you show me some of the moves you learned from the movies baby"? said Aahil laughing.

"Are you laughing at me?" said Sanam, her face flushed with anger.

"No of course not baby" said Aahil trying to supress a laugh.

"I know I'm not like the girls you are used to doing this stuff with. I suppose you find me boring so..."

At that, Aahil rolled Sanam on to her back and he was braced above her.

"What did you say? I find you boring? Don't ever dare say that Sanam. You are the only women who can turn me on just by breathing the same air as me. I've never wanted anyone the way I want you. I love you. Do you get that?"

Sanam nodded her head yes. "I love you too" she whispered. "But I think I still want to switch positions" she said her eyes twinkling. Suddenly Sanam was in an adventurous mood. Why not live a little? She pushed Aahil off her and rolled him on to his back. Now she was kneeling between his waist. Aahil raised his browse as if to say "What is this"?

"You said you want your shirt back?" she started to unbutton the shirt one button at a time. Sanam reached the final button and she started to take the shirt off. Aahil simply stared at her in awe. She removed the shirt and threw it over Aahil's head.

"Here's your shirt. I hope I didn't crease it too much" she said biting her lower lip. At that, Aahil lifted her off him and placed her on the bed. He braced himself above her.

"You really are a witch, you know that? That was just hot" he growled, as he took her lips in a kiss. Soon their hands were everywhere and their kisses were getting more passionate. Aahil started to press kisses in the valley between her breasts and moved lower to nuzzle her stomach. When his tongue dipped into her belly button, Sanam gasped and fisted her fingers in his hair.

"Aahil...I meant what I said about switching positions" Sanam panted.

"I'll let you be on top baby. But let me have my way with you first." Said Aahil as he started to take her panties off.

Sanam smiled, blushing a little when she remembered how she had acted. It's true he made her forget everything. She remembered all those amazing things he had said to her about her being the only one who was ever "Special" to him. She smiled, as she looked at him. Suddenly she could not resist reaching out and touching him. She ran a finger over his jaw. He really had the most amazing jawline. So strong. His features were softened by sleep and he almost had a slight smile on his lips. Her heart melted looking at him. He whispered to her that he loved her and that she was beautiful all the time they were making love. She loved the way he said "Sanam...Baby". Who would have thought that he could be so romantic and tender? When she first met him, she had thought he was such a rude guy full of hot air. But she realised that most of it was a front. He just didn't like being vulnerable in front of anyone. The fact that he had let his guard down in front of her, was a testament to his true feelings for her. It was only when she had seen him with his Mother and watched his devotion to her that she had realised that the so called "Sone Ka Dil" that Latiff and even Rehan had alluded to DID exist. She had insulted his Mother and he had taken it personally. Then he had decided to make her life hell. Also, when she slapped him, he had taken it personally, and come back to get her back. From everything she knew of Aahil, he didn't seem like the "petty" type. Then why had he done something so drastic?? Somehow she was sure there was more to it than she knew. She had to find out of course. She was serious when she had promised herself that she would try her best to understand him. Not just love him.

She turned her head and planted a kiss on his jaw. She then moved away, and a voice said;

"Don't stop".

"You were awake"? She accused.

He turned around and rolled her onto her back, and trapped her between his arms.

"Hi" he said huskily.

"Hi" she murmured back.

"Still love me"?

"Hmmm..."

"Tell me"

"I love you" Sanam whispered.

"And I love you. So are you ready for round three"? He said with a smirk, and caught her lips in a quick kiss.

"Aahil... You really should rest and try to recover?" Sanam protested.

"That is what I'm doing. Taking my "love dose', so I can recover.

Sanam shook her head. Her fingers caressed his cheek.

"I'm serious Jaan. You really should rest. Besides, I have some things I need to ask you".

"What Baby"?

Sanam pushed Aahil gently off her, and pushed him back against the pillows. She curled up next to him and put her arm around his waist and rested her head on his chest.

"I think we should get to know each other better. You know, like important things about each other. I have things I want to ask you, but before I do, is there anything you would like to ask me"?

"Yeah. I would like to know what your first impression of me was"?

"Are you serious? You really want to know this? You know it's not good right"?

"Yeah I really want to know what you were thinking baby".

"I thought you were full of it, and a real jerk, not to mention a playboy, who ran people over".

"Ran people over?".

"Yeah. You nearly ran Haya off the road. I followed your car, to give you tight, and that is how I ended up at the haystack."

"That was Haya? I tooted so many times and got no response. I didn't realise she couldn't actually hear. God you must have thought I was a really asshole. As for the haystack thing, all I have to say is, that was stupid what I did. Tacky even. I agree. There was no excuse for the way I acted. But the truth is, it was more about bravado for me than anything else...I..."

Sanam reached out and put a finger on his lips.

"We don't need to discuss that again Aahil. I have moved past that. As for my impression of you... Well that was the impression I got in Punjab, and then when I came to Bhopal and started working here, I thought you were allergic to clothes. I used to call you the 'Emran Hashmi' of Bhopal.

"Emran Hashmi"?

"You know how he likes to take his shirt off, not to mention all those sex scenes in his movies?..." she trailed off.

"You know I have met Emran Hashmi once. He seemed like a nice enough guy".

"I am sure he is. This has nothing to do with my personal opinion of him. More of his 'body of work', if you know what I mean", she giggled. "You were always in that pool of yours half naked and drinking. Also, I thought you were a cheat. I heard you on the phone with this girl and you said you 'missed' her, and she had been in Europe for 3 months. But I knew you had been in Punjab with some other girl 3 weeks before. So in short, I thought you were a half dressed, arrogant playboy who drank too much".

"It's nice to know that the love of my life had such a great opinion of me".

"You did ask Aahil, and I believe in honesty".

"Brutally honest baby. Didn't you have even one good opinion of me"? He asked with a hurt expression.

"I liked your haircut and that beard you had. It made you look...edgy. Also, I thought you had a great body. I didn't want to admit it, but I thought your were hot!".

"Well, well... Innocent little Sanam was after my body from day one then? You liked my edgy look ha? I did look cool didn't I? Do you want me to go back to looking that way? Coz I can baby. Just for you".

"No it's ok. I like the way you look now, with your ruffled up hair on your forehead. You almost look like a kid. So cute".

"I think I prefer hot".

"Your still hot. Just in a different way. Enough about you. What did you think of me Aahil?"

"I thought you were very pretty in a Desi way. I also thought you were full of pride and arrogance. You were fearless baby. The way you told me off for that vegetable cart guy and then the way you set fire to my car? I was impressed. Despite myself. I really was impressed. I had never met a girl like you before. No one had ever dared to talk back to me the way you did. I think I knew even then, that you were special. It was inevitable that I should fall for you. To think I may not have even met you. I was not even meant to go to Punjab"?

"Why were you in Punjab"?

"Land deal. Rehan was supposed to go, but I ended up going instead. I guess it was fate, coz that's how I met you".

"In all the things you mentioned about our first meeting, you didn't mention me slapping you? Were you not impressed by that"? She asked chuckling. Suddenly a closed off expression came on Aahil's face.

"No. That didn't impress me Sanam".

All this time he had called her Baby, and suddenly he called her Sanam? It seemed like that slap is still a sore topic for him. Sanam knew that there was something going on there. No one liked being slapped. But it seemed that Aahil had seriously overreacted to being slapped. So much so that he thought he was justified in burning her property for it? Knowing him more now, she knew there had to be more to this.

"Why did you set fire to the Dhaba Aahil? Is it just to get revenge from me for slapping you?"

"It wasn't about revenge. I just don't like being touched in violence. It sets me off".

"Can you elaborate"?

"I'd rather not Sanam. It's not a topic I like to discuss".

"Does it have anything to do with those nightmares you have?"

He suddenly went very still. He moved her a bit away from him and sat up a bit more. Sanam pulled the duvet between her arms and held it in place as she too sat up more. Something told her she had touched on a raw nerve.

"Why do you ask"? his expression was closed off. His eyes hooded.

"I have seen you have that nightmare at least two times since I came to stay in this room Aahil. You seemed really afraid. You were..."

He cut her off at that point.

"I don't want to discuss it Sanam. What part of 'No' don't you understand"?

"Aahil...Please...I am trying to understand you better. I am trying to be a part of your life. Why can't you let me in?"

"You ARE in my life Sanam. I HAVE let you in. I love you, and I want you with me. But that is what happened in my past and I don't want to drag it into my present."

"I am your wife Aahil. Not a temporary wife. I am here for good. So, I have a right to know about your past. Whatever it might be. Nothing you say can make me love you less Jaan. You have to trust me".

"You don't understand Sanam..."

"Then MAKE me understand Aahil. Please"?

He saw the earnest look in her eyes. She loved him and she wanted to know more about him. But was this something he wanted her to know? This shameful piece of his past that he never shared with anyone? He had drunk himself silly trying to forget it. He had partied, and slept around. All in his effort to block out those feelings he harboured from childhood. Feelings of not being worthy of love. Then his feelings of guilt. Because the truth was that even though he didn't remember pulling that trigger, he could believe he had. Because, at the end of the day, he HAD wanted his father to leave his life. He had wanted him gone. Then suddenly he was. And with him, the women he had adored as his Mother. She took the fall for him and suddenly he was left parentless in this world, with a grandmother who had been too sick to care for him, and an aunt and uncle who didn't really care at all. He knew she came from a loving family background. She mentioned her grandmother and sister with affection. She spoke of her dead parents with reverence. The people in her life had cared for her and she was important to them. She had obviously had a happy home life. Will someone like her ever understand someone who had a childhood like his?

"Sanam, not everyone is blessed with a loving family and parents or grandparents that love them. I was not".

"What do you mean Aahil? I thought you have such a good relationship with your Mother"?

"Yes, after my Dad married Ammi and brought her home, I became very close to her. I don't remember my biological Mother hardly at all. She died when I was 3".

"I'm sorry Aahil".

"It's OK. I just never knew a Mother's love till Ammi came into our lives. But my Dad...he was...he was strict. He..." Sanam could tell Aahil was struggling to get the next words out. "He believed in discipline. Especially for boys. He didn't think boys needed to have affection shown to them. Especially not by their Fathers. He believed in punishment. He used to...he used to... belt me".

"WHAT"? Sanam could not quite stop herself from saying it. Her shock was clear on her face.

"This is why I don't like to talk about it. Obviously you are disgusted by the whole thing, and must think me weak for still having nightmares about it".

At that Sanam reached out to Aahil and cupped his jaw and turned his face around to look at her.

"I don't think that at all. I think your incredibly brave to have gone through that, and still be the person you are today Aahil. You could have turned out so much worse. But your still a very good guy. It wasn't your fault your Father was so mean. That was HIS fault. You have nothing to be ashamed of. Having nightmares about being abused is nothing to feel ashamed of Aahil. Anyone who went through that would feel the same way".

Aahil reached for Sanam and crushed her against him.

"Thank you Sanam".

"What for?"

"For not judging me".

"I..."

"There is actually more to this story. But I will tell you that another time".

"Well you told me a painful truth about yourself. Now it's my turn".

"What painful truth do you have to share? I thought you had an idyllic childhood?"

"This is not from my childhood. This happened after you met me."

"That's recent. What is it?"

"I got left at the alter by my fiance".

"What? You were engaged when we met?"

"Is that what you got out of what I said? Yes I was engaged. But I was talking more of the left at the alter part".

"Who was he?"

"Anwar. My Badi Ammi knew people who were related to him and that's how it all came about. But what happened was that he was after my land. After the Dhaba was burned, I leveraged the land to get a bank loan. But it turned out Anwar cheated me, and sold the land to a construction company. He ran away with my money and some of our family heirlooms".

Aahil had gone very quite. He was looking at her intently. She was engaged when they first met?

"Did you love him"?

"NO. No I didn't."

"Are you just saying that... or is that the truth?"

"Of course it's the truth Aahil. I didn't love that rat. I didn't even know what being in love felt like, till you".

"You never did tell me".

"What"?

"When you realised you were in love with me? You said you had been in love with me 'for ages' but didn't even realise it. When did you realise it? And how long is ages"?

"Well...actually...I only realised it after we...you know..." she trailed off.

"What"?

Sanam looked at him to say "seriously"? Who was the obtuse one now?

"It was after we...after we made love. I suspected after the first time, and I was sure after the second time", she said quickly, a flush creeping up her face.

Aahil smiled. "Well now...that's interesting. I am supposed to be the player, but you are the one that had to have sex to figure out you are in love? And here I was...burning my heart out, and longing for you for months. All without so much as a second glance from you."

"I just didn't know what this feeling I felt when you were around was? It just confused me. But when we...I mean, I guess I had to go to bed with you to realise that what I felt for you was love. I guess what I'm trying to say is that, I didn't know what my feelings meant, till I totally shed my inhibitions with you. That gave me a sort of clarity".

"Well I'm glad you saw the light Baby", said Aahil with a smile.

"Are you teasing me again"?

"Sanam...even if I tease you, it's all done with love. So you don't have to get so worked up".

"I'm not worked up".

Sanam suddenly heard a rumbling noise.

"What's that? Was that your stomach"?

"Yes. I guess I'm hungry. I don't know about you. But I sure worked up an appetite doing something or the other most of the night"!

"Do you want me to go make you a sandwich or something"?

"No. You stay here. I think I will get some of that Kheer. Hopefully Latiff didn't finish it all".

"Latiff is out".

"Well then, there will be some left. I'll go get it".

Aahil got out of bed and pulled on his boxers. He headed towards the door.

"Are you going out like that"?

"Why not? No one will be up at this time. And anyway...I AM the Emran Hashmi of Bhopal right"? he grinned at her as he closed the door behind him.

Sanam fell back on to the pillows and smiled.

"Yes...he is the Emran Hashmi of Bhopal, and he is ALL mine! Kyon khi...It's Fate!"

"Teri Bahaon Mein Yeh Jism Khil Gaaya...Teri Saanson Mein Chain Mil Gaya...Kaise Rahein Abb Hum Juda...Teri Paas Hum Itne Hue...Tere Khwaab Apne Hue...Kaise Hue Abb Hum Fida...Khil Gai Meri Kismat...Paake Teri Yeh Chahat...Hum Pe Meherbaan Do Jahan"
