Sanam has very deep and scorching questions about her parents and their life in Bhopal. She expresses frustration that Badi Ammi always gives her and Haya sketchy information about them.
Thus everytime she meets someone who may have known them, she gets her hopes up high, only to be let down yet again.
She's right there in this photo with my Ammi and Abbu!! Why can't anyone who knew them remember them?
Rehan, a solid friend,as always offers his voice of calm and reason. If Begum Sahiba could see, I'm sure she would recognize them.
He doesn't know his mother is a cold blooded murderer. I also have questions about my Abbu, but I could never get answers.
He hides from Sanam that he knows who his Ammi is...
Sanam cries most dejectedly right in front of him. His love is in his eyes, in the need to comfort her, but the raised fingers fall. I can't touch her. She is a married woman.
But her pain is echoed in him. They both feel the hunger for their parents. And he makes her a promise, I promise, I will help you find out about your parents...And in that moment of weakness, he raised a hand and wiped her tears away.
And Aahil sees them.
OMG, that awkwardness between them made my stomach churn uncomfortably !
Aahil is flipping mad. He came to find his wife, to introduce her to his friends. And finds her having a tender moment with her love'. His face, first heartbroken, then crumples in fury, and all sensible behaviour is lost in jealousy.
He makes overtly possessive actions to show Rehan that he is messing with the wrong guy. He grabs Sanam by the waist and yanks her to his side, as he grits his teeth and gushes to his friends how his wonderful wife had won him over with her charms.
My beautiful wife...
Rehan looks away , uncomfortable with the level of anger in Aahil's passive-aggressive behaviour. Aahil is uncontrollable in his jealousy, he makes a big show of being touchy-feely and hugs her really close, making it uncomfortable for the three people involved. The guests were oblivious to it all.
For the first time. Aahil dismisses Rehan rudely. Like a servant, not a brother. Go! Fetch me some food. Now! Hurry up!
It was awful...
Rehan and Sanam serve food for the guests, as they work together, Aahil watches them with a poisonous gaze. He sends Rehan away, flippantly.
It broke my heart to see him sully the one pure relationship he had, based on mutual respect and brotherhood.
Aahil goes on to extoll Sanam's virtues, he praises her cooking to the skies, and she doesn't buy it. But he doesn't stop there, he says after all she was a cook, who ran a dhaba in Punjab.
His friends make fun of her English, and her most prized accomplishment, Sanam da dhaba. My heart broke into a million pieces watching her face freeze in response, as Aahil just looks on, consumed by his vendetta.
He gushes about how love is blind, and someone like himself can find a partner like her, a country girl who cooks for a living.
Help me GOD!! Will the insults never end!!
It doesnt' stop there. Someone suggests they dance to commemorate their love, and Teri Meri' is played. I believe no one will actually listen to the song, as the unpleasantness unfolds before you.
He yanks and twirls an unwilling Sanam around, and she tells him to stop hurting her. I'm upsetting you? It doesn't upset you when he, Rehan, touches you? He has permission to, does he? Huh?
She retorts "Only you can think disgusting thoughts like this. Anyway what is it to you who i spend my time with? This isn't a real marriage anyway!!!
Don't you DARE make a joke of this marriage in front of my friends, you get it !! And he throws her out of his embrace and turns away. Then he turns and takes his gal pal in his arms and slow dances with her...
She leaves, but not before discovering that he did get rid of the alcohol after they spoke...
Meanwhile, Razia prods at Tanveer somemore... Tanveer's real son and his father is the topic of discussion. Razia is digging up all old stories. , Rehan talking about his father , and Razia too... something is up...
Precap: Sanam finds a boarded up room, with things that belong to Asad and Zoya...
Sh*t's about to get real...!
