Hello my beautiful readers! 🤗

A slight advice to you all - Try to listen to the songs; "Mohabbat Toh Ek Javeda Zindagi Hain" and "Sawan Aaya Hain" and "Khali Dil Nehi." It will add more feelings to the chapter while reading it.

Chapter 7

6 months went by and everything was over.

Karma had returned and gave Tanveer a piece of her own deeds. Prison was now the rightfully place she lived for the next many years to come.

Aahil was living alone with his two sisters alongside with Rehaan.

The last few months had left a painful scar on Aahil's soul. No matter how much he tried to avoid thinking about it, it was always there. He would however try to tell himself that the invincible scars were; "just another one to the collection."

But, he tried his best to stay calm and not led the overly emotions run wild within him.

------------------

Aahil stood in the middle of the hallway waiting patiently for the guard to let him to the other side of the door.

He reached out and finally opened the heavy steel door and walked down the long dimmed corridor. He nodded at the guard as he went toward the cell he knew she would be at.

He stopped as he felt sudden tension yet he felt a vibe of relaxation crash upon him.

"I knew you would come," a voice said from the dark.

Aahil took a step forward and met his stepmother's blind eyes.

"I only came to see how the prison treated you."

"Of course" she said while reaching forward to hold one of prison bars.

"You can say whatever you want, but I know why you came. I know you came to see how your dear mother was doing. Are you worried, Aahil?"

"Never!"

"You can't fool me, I know you."

"Fool?" He repeated. "We've all been a fool in your little play haven't we? We've done as you asked us without even questioning why or if this was right or wrong?"

They both remained silent until a laugh echoed in the hallway. "You know, I haven't laughed this much since forever. And you know what? It feels damn good."

Tanveer couldn't hold the faade anymore. "How dare you!" she growled.

"How dare you laugh when you put your own mother in prison?"

"- Correction; step-mother!" he said with a serious filled voice. "And frankly, I don't give a damn! I'm going to enjoy my life in peace with the money you were too busy collecting."

He watched her expression and knew he had pissed her off.

Aahil leaned back with his arms crossed across his chest with a slight smirk on his face.

"It's true what they say. You need to watch every move to keep up with the world."

She growled. "You'll be alone, Aahil! I raised you. I made you just the way I wanted. And now you've ruined my plan! All the sacrifices I had to make have gone to vain. I'll make sure you rot! You hear me!"

"You're forgetting something!" he took a step forward as his eyes were narrowed slightly with a cold stare.

"I'm the Nawaab of Bhopal! You can't do anything to affect me or my decision," he said with a low voice.

He took a step back leaving for the exit. He had enough. "I hope you survive this - for your sake."

With that he turned around and left the pained chapter of his life behind with his stepmother.

With each step Aahil took, he let go of the years he had craved the love from a mother. The years he had wasted crying for nothing.

He walked out of the building as he silently wiped the corner of his eye. He furrowed his brows not knowing why he felt betrayed.

He climbed into his car and drove off to a familiar destination.

Half an hour, a figure stood on the beach with his hands inside the pockets of his black pants. There were so many things running around in his head. Aahil found it hard to figure out what to think or what to do.

He stood taking a deep breath as he watched the waves ahead of him. His ears picked the calm sound of the air around him.

Pictures of Sanam flashed before his eyes. She was everywhere wherever he looked. He hadn't seen or heard from her in the last 6 months.

Shamaa ko pighalne kaa armaan kyun hai
Patangeko jalne kaa aramaan kyun hai
Esi shauk kaa imtihaan zindagi hai

He couldn't help but ask the question which was pleading him the most. Was it possible for him to find peace? Get what he wanted the most in his life?

He wanted a mother figure in his life when he was just a kid, but all he got was pain and misery.

Mohabbat jise baksh de zindagaani
Nahi maut par khatm usaki kahaani

Was this the same scenario for him? Would he go through the same pain for Sanam?

Was it really the end? Was it all over? Did he blow the chance he had? He swallowed by the thought of not having her in his life.

Kaise jiyaa jaaye, Ishq bin
Kaise jiyaa jaaye, ishq bin

Aahil let out a frustrated yell as his knees fell flat on the cold hard ground. The feeling of being defeated filled his veins.

He felt pathetic. He felt alone. He felt broken.

Nahi koi insaan mohabbat se khaali
Har ek rooh pyaasi har ek dil savaani

He raised his gaze and starred into the still night.

Was it really true what people said about him? That he was empty of emotions? That he was empty of love? Didn't he know the value of the word?

A memory filled his mind.

Sanam crossed her arms as she starred at the man in front of him. "Mujhe kaha se pata chalta, ke Jallad Jinn ke paas dil bhi hain."

Aahil's expression changed for a split second. All his life he thought that he was unloved.

Sanam saw the hurt in his eyes but was soon replaced by a hard look.

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"I think you already know the kind of person you are." she said.

"You don't know anything about me." He said before realizing that he indicated the conversation between them to carry on.

"I know enough!" she said with a determined voice.

"Do you?" he challenged her. "Frankly, I don't think you do."

Aahil closed his eyes ending the familiar memory.

The truth was that he did! He did know the value of love. He knew every emotion which was running through his body - The change which was happening inside of him.

Mohabbat jahaan hai wahaa zindagi hai
Mohabbat naa ho to kahaa zindagi hai

He wanted to protect Sanam.

He had the sudden urge to make her his.

To mark her

To let everyone know that she was his and he was hers.

Tose naina lage mili roshani,
Tose mann jo laga mili zindagi

Aahil ran a hand through his hair and closed his eyes for a minute. He opened them again and stared into the still night, witnessing the waves moving back and forth.

All he could do was hope. Hoping for the fact that the waves had washed away the pained feeling he felt.

------------------

Mohabbat barsa dena tu, sawan aaya hai
Tere aur mere milne ka, mausam aaya hai

Sanam was standing alone in the garden area of the Haveli. She stood in pure silence with eyes closed, as she enjoyed the small droplets hit her delicate face.

She opened her brown orbs and a sweet like laugh escaped her rosy lips whenever she turned around. It was like she had been waiting for the earth to shower its love upon her.

Something about the rain made her feel calm yet a new feeling ran through her body.

Sanam was too caught up with the rain as she kept turning around, not noticing that she had collided into something hard.

She slowly turned around with eyes furrowed slightly. Her eyes found a pair brown ones looking right back at her.

Sanam couldn't believe what she was seeing.

Aahil Raza Ibrahim was standing right in front of her.

In the rain.

With her.

He was not even bothered about his expensive clothes - not that she was complaining anyway.

Sanam led her eyes wander to what he was wearing.

Oh, the sight!

Aahil wore a light colored blue shirt with his sleeves rolled up to the elbows. The top buttons undone like always. She had an urge to take a peek at his well smooth chest but the rain had done a better job at granting her wish.

The shirt was now fully drained and clung to his well-formed physique.

Sanam felt herself getting drawn into his brown orbs as she felt a reddish shade invade her cheeks.

Aahil gently reached forward and removed the fallen hair from her eyes which was detracting her view. The touch had sent a jolt of pleasure through her body.

He slowly leaned in and whispered. "Now, look what you've done - my clothes are wet and it's all thanks to you."

"Me?" Sanam furrowed her brows breaking away from the pleasure she felt a second ago. "I didn't ask you to come here, let alone stand in the rain." She said crossing her arms.

He sighed when he saw her walk past him, but grabbed a hold of her hand and brought her back into his chest.

"No, but you needed me here." He whispered as he slipped his arm around her waist.

Snama raised her gaze and into his eyes once again. Those eyes which stole her senses from her and leaving her with only a warm feeling inside.

Sanam tightened her hold of his strong shoulders by the feeling which was running through her veins.

He leaned in and cupped her cheek without breaking eye contact. Sanam on the other hand couldn't breathe anymore. He was getting so close. So close.

He gently leaned which caused her to close her eyes as he brushed his lips against her forehead. Her heart began to beat wildly in her chest. She didn't even notice that he had let go of her.

After a few seconds later, she opened her eyes only to find him gone. Sanam turned around trying to see where he had vanished to.

"Sanam, sanam.."

She heard him call her name but where was he?

"Sanam.."

What she noticed was the fact that his voice had started to become lighter with each second.

"Sanam!"

She woke up with a start as she breathed heavily. She took a look around and saw her she was sitting on her bed. Her clothes were dry.

It was only a dream.

Sanam felt as if her face had caught on fire when she thought back on the dream.

Ugh, so not me!' she thought as she led her head fall back into the soft pillow.

Her Badi Ammi came into her room calling her several times. "Sanam, time to wake up, Beta."

Her eyes caught her grandchild lying on the bed. "What happened to you? Are you feeling hot?"

Sanam sighed. "More like dreaming about a hot man," she muttered.

- Wait! Stop it!' she told herself and got up from the bed where she went inside the bathroom to get ready for the day.

Sanam had finally taken a breath of calm and resolution for the past few months.

She had opened her own restaurant downtown, where the business was going rather successfully. Of course, she would say that it was all because of the valuable recipes she had hidden away in a box from her old Dhabba days.

A few hours later, Sanam was busy going through a few small sheets of paper in a small box. She was already getting late, but it was okay, as she owned the place.

Dilshaad made her way toward the living room where she caught Sanam as if trying to find something.

"Are you looking for something? Maybe I can help you find it?"

The young woman shook her head and kept her eyes on the many sheets.

Dilshaad took a step forward as she took a glance down. "What are these?"

"Those are my super-secret Dhabba recipes. They are what keep the restaurant going."

Dilshaad shook her head lightly. "You've inherited those recipes from me."

"So I did!" She said proudly as she embraced her. When she finally got a hold of the sheets she said her byes leaving for work.

While some were too busy working that day, some had other things to worry about.

Aahil had just finished a meeting with a few companies who wanted to get a deal done. Although his mind was always elsewhere rather on the heavy files which had lay in front of him.

He managed to finish and got out from the building where he headed home. He couldn't work when his mind was constantly playing tricks on him.

------------------

Ishq Hai Paani Ka Ek Katra
Katre Mein Toofan
Ek Haath Mein Apna Dil Rakh Le
Ek Haath Mein Rakh Le Jaan

Later in the evening, Aahil stood in front of the pool area as he watched the still water in front of him. Part of him felt frustrated by the life he was living.

Anger began to evolve within him. He was tired of people manipulating him for their own goals and needs. His own step-mother had used him for money. He felt sick at the pit of his stomach.

His brown orbs caught bottles lined up beside the pool as he remembered the old challenges he had set for Sanam to overcome.

Particularly one had stood apart the most where he had told her to jump inside the pool, without knowing that she couldn't swim.

He jaw was set tight whenever he thought of the fact that he had to break a bottle whenever a challenge had passed.

He swiftly took one bottle into his hand and smashed them against the large pillars - destroying each and every bottle there was. Not caring about the damage at all.

The members of the house began to rush toward him to see where the noise had come from. Before anyone could get a chance to approach him, Aahil raised a hand and gave them one fierce glare which told them off.

Rehaan, being the brother couldn't help but take a step. He was concerned about his brother and his wellbeing. He knew that his Aahil Bhai had taken a lot of pain in the last few months.

"Aahil Bhai.."

"Not right now Rehaan. Not today." He told him.

Aahil had his gaze fixed on the floor, Let the broken pieces be broken today' he thought silently.

He closed his eyes when he heard steps leave him alone in his misery.

He couldn't get Sanam out from his mind.

He wondered if he would ever see her again. Would he ever be able to share his inner thoughts, feelings or his hurtful past he had experienced with her?

He never opened up to anyone, yet he couldn't stop but wonder about the question if she would listen to him.

Oh, how he longed to see her.

So, why didn't he approach her? What stopped him from trying? His pride? His thoughts? Or the fact that perhaps he was afraid?

But Aahil Raza Ibrahim was afraid of no one - yet he couldn't make himself to go and see her.

He doomed himself for not taking the step. He couldn't stop to wonder why she hadn't met him in the last few months. Was it because of the family he belonged? Or was it because she never...

He didn't dare to go there. Instead all he could do was to stare at the still water in front of him.

The man who perhaps had everything was left with nothing. Nothing but an empty feeling inside.
