Part 2 *UPDATED*
Aahil signed the contract for the farmhouse and handed over the file to Rehan. He glanced around and realized that Sanam and Nida were nowhere in sight.
"Dono nazar nahin aa rahee hain," he told Rehan.
"Main dek kar aata hoon," and with that Rehan hurried towards the house.
Aahil quickly dialed Nida but she didn't answer. Frustrated after the fourth try, he began to pace impatiently.
Fifteen minutes later, Rehan still hadn't showed up. Aahil decided to go inside, as he stepped inside, he called Rehan.
"Hello, Rehan?"
"Haan, Aahil Bhai mujhe Sanam nahin mil rahee. Humne poora ghar chaan mare."
"What?!"exclaimed Aahil. "Aise kaise ho sakta hai. Kahan gayi woh?"
"Aahil bhai, ghar itna bara hai to maine socha ke dekh rahee hogi. Lekin mujhe nahin lag raha ke woh ghar main hai. Aisa keejiye ke aap doontewe peeche ki taraf aajaye. Main aur Nida ji bee aarahay hain."
Aahil shouted for Sanam the whole way to the backyard but there was no response. This girl was already impossible but he was sure that she wasn't hiding on purpose just to bother him. Suddenly he remembered how she was buried alive by goons in the graveyard and he automatically began to panic. What if she was in trouble again? He had to find her!
Aahil found Rehan behind the shed. Apparently she wasn't there either.
"Rehan, Sanam nahin milee?"
Rehan nodded,"Nahin Aahil Bhai." Nida rolled her eyes. She hated how Aahil was in such a frenzy over a stupid servant.
"Nida, tum uske saath theen last. Kya woh tumse kuch keh kar gayee?"
"Nahin, Aahil. Woh to bedrooms dekh rahee thee. Jab main niche aarahee thee," Nida lied.
"Acha ek baar upar phir se dekte hain," Aahil suggested. He walked through the doors with Rehan while Nida followed reluctantly.
At the top of the stairs, he spotted the caretaker who was busy closing the bedroom doors.
"Mr. Chavanilal, kya aapne Sanam ko dekha hai?"
"Arre madam toh apke piche hee hain," he said while pointing at Nida.
"Main Nida hoon," Nida answered through her teeth.
"Nida? lekin sahab aapne tho..." he started but Aahil cut him off.
"Sanam, woh doosree larki, jo humare saath ayee thee?" he pressed, praying to god that he'd seen her.
"Woh niche kee taraf bhaagthivi ja raheen thee. Lekin uske baad maine unhe nahin dekha. Woh bahar honge," he informed.
"Bahar to main tha..woh bee itnee der se. Bahar nahin hai woh."
"Aree kaheen woh ghar ke liye tho nahin nikal gayeen? Waise bee yahan par panch bajee ke baad koi rickshaw nahin aata. Khaheen woh highway kee tharaf tho nahin gayeen?"
"Kya bakwas kar rahe ho?" Aahil barked.
"Bakwas nahin sahab. Highway baas agey hee hain, wahan se unhe koi lift tho deh dehta. Lekin pehle ek lamba kachaa rasta hai aur ek baara jungle paartha hai. Usse paar kar ke hee highway aatha hai. Aap dekh loh. Kya paatha woh gusse main nikhal gayin hon." he finished.
Aahil thought for a second. What if she did exactly that? What if on her way, she got lost? What if she hurt herself?
His brain began to race with possibilities. Each worse than the one before. He grabbed the railing and began to go downstairs when his eye caught something. A black thread. He grabbed it.
"Ye tho Sanam ka thaveez hai," Rehan offered before Aahil got a good look at it. She wouldn't leave something so precious behind, thought Aahil. And suddenly it clicked, she had really rushed out of the house. Why? He did not know but knowing wasn't important right now.
He bolted down the stairs. "Aahil," Nida shouted after him. Both she and Rehan ran after Aahil as Aahil headed towards his car.
"Aahil ruk jao! Itna kyun pareshaan ho rahee ho? She's only a bloody naukar!" Nida screamed as she finally caught up with him after taking off her heels.
"Shut up Nida," roared Aahil. "Woh naukar nahin hai," he seethed. And with that he sat in his car as Nida stood there stunned and drove the car as soon as Rehan caught up.
"Aree Aahil bhai! Hume to lay chaliye!" he shouted at the retreating car.
"How dare he? Uski himmat kaise hui mujse iss tone main baath karne ki. Saab uss bloody naukar ke liye," fumed Nida.
Rehan didn't hear her as he was too busy trying to call Aahil who was obviously not going to pick up.
"Rehan mujhe ghar le challo," ordered Nida.
"Nida ji yahan par tho rickshaw mile ga hee nahin. Sarhe paanch (5:30) ho rahe hain."
"Rickshaw main kaun jayega? Taxi bulao!" she snapped.
Rehan hung up and dialed a number for a taxi...
Meanwhile, Aahil's search for Sanam was still on. He had driven three miles and there was still no sign of Sanam. The sun was already setting and clouds were piling up in the sky.
Aahil frantically scanned the road for some sign of her.
