Surbhi, I believed, is one of those actresses with one of the best emoting abilities then others I've seen. And she has definitely given us lots of WOW moments as Zoya previously... And Surbhi actually played Zoya to absolute perfection and I guess people remember her as Zoya more than Surbhi actually... That's probably because the show had a story and Zoya's characterization was probably understood in depth by Surbhi who was playing her then...
As Sanam, if given the right amount of understanding of her character and the story's premise, I'm sure she would be emoting really well too.. She changed from being Zoya and becoming Sanam in a matter of few days and she did well. And that's actually difficult for any actor and she's only been in the industry for two plus years.. So, I'm sure she's trying her best as much as she can..
There were three wow moments for me for Sanam in which I felt she was brilliant in her emoting - one was the burning of the dabba and Ahil's car - attitude and egoism, the dori scene - she actually had to change to 2 different emotions in a split second which included fear, desperation and sympathy at the same time and the other was the time she gave it to Ahil and broke the bottle - anger, frustration etc.
But I believe as of recent times, I do find Sanam dull - her characterization hasn't been portrayed well and I think the writers have their heads all over the place and have not thought about making their characters impactful. It's like too many cooks spoil the soup and they have too many characters who are spoiling the show. I have actually stopped watching QH2 two weeks back and read the WU before watching because I find it boring and it doesn't impress me as there isn't a story and what more can characters such as Sanam and Ahil do?
So, I believe Surbhi is an amazing actress and if given good depth and understanding of her character and a good story, emoting/acting would never be a problem for her.. And she would be a absolute joy to watch onscreen.
