So this is really overdue and random, but did Gul ever show WHY Zoya ran away from her first nikaah with Akram?

The significance of that scene was to let us know Zoya's views on marriage. This was important for the intended Halala track.

In the grand scheme of things neither of these scenarios played out so they eventually became insignificant.😉

Zoya ran away coz she had come to find her abbu... & she wanted to get marrried knowing all these & to someone whom she knows from before & understand her. .

that was becoz she wanted to find Abu and did not ant to commit until she found him...coz she was not in love with Akram.

Zoya want to find her roots before getting in to marriage but her sis arranged nikah with Anwar without Zoya's knowledge and she had no option except to run away as groom side was offended by her last minute Qubool nahin hain and were all set to force the Nikah against her will.
