See in the changing scenario of present day society where there are more inter caste marriages the special marriage act plays an important role. Neither they do rituals as per Hindu traditions nor as per the muslim traditions. They can get their marriage legalised under Special marriage act which is legal and valid for legal purposes. But at the end of the day, Muslim community wont give recongition to the marriage unless you convert yourself into a muslim Under Hindu customs there is nothing like conversion. But still it poses a social situation when you get issues of your marriage whether he is a hindu or muslim. You may loose family support etc. But now many cosmopolitan people do say that why should the child be a hindu or a muslim by birth. He is result of the love they had for each other so he will be a good human being. He will follow the good from both cultures from that of his father and that of is mother.
But if you want your self yo be recognised in the muslim community then you have to convert yourself into a muslim and the issues will also be muslims only.

I hope my opinion is helpful to you.

Like I said if you register under special marriage act, your marraige is valid and legal in the eyes of law and you get all rights, but socially it is still diffiult convincing religious leaders specially Muslim religious leaders.

I think that marriage of an hindu and a muslim depends upon their way of thinking...if the couple is not so very orthodox and if they think that their love is more important than the religious facts...then they can perform both the marriages...
like, they can also take the pheras and also the nikah procedures...without converting their religions

So, I dont think religion would be a matter there

And then the marriage can be registered...

I dont think...the muslim community would approve of the marriage in which anyone of the couple is a non muslim..but thats okay..it would be registered somehow...

one example i can give is...Jodha Akbar...Jodha didnt convert into islam when they married..

I dont know whether they have separate community for muslim and hindus or not...at that century

But yeah..this might be of some help ofcourse

a muslim cannot marry a hindu.. its stricktly prohibitted in islam...
a muslim man can marry a christian or jew girl as they have the Holy Book...there r four Holi Books.. there was tje first one abt which i dont know much.. the second one was for the jews n the third one for chiristians and fourth for Muslims.. soo a boy can marry a christian or jew girl... a muslim girl cannot marry outside her religion..

hindu muslim marriage is common now days.. but it is stricktly prohibited inislam...
if u r planning to write a story abt it its better that u dont cox many muslims might get offended because of this...

hope this post did not offend anyone...

i dont know if this can help but my best friend, a muslim got married to a hindu boy. they had a registered marraige without telling thier families. afterwards, for family acceptance, they went through both the rituals. the boy agreed to go through conversion of religion and they had a nikaah and then they also went in for a hindu ceremony with the pheras.she had to do a special pooja before the pheras but i dont remember what kind of pooja.

Thank you so much
I just said from a practical pt of view
See love happens and it doesnt see to which reliegion you belong. even though in muslims is prohibited to marry a hindu, muslim cannot go asking whether ur a hindi or muslim before falling in love right.
So special marriage act gets into play.
