Zoya Farouqui: she came to India in search of her Abbu, whom she does not know and she ended up staying at some strangers house where she found the love of a mother, a sister and that of her would be husband.
When she came to India, love of a husband was perhaps the last thing she was looking for and she had never thought of falling in love with a person who is the opposite of her in so many ways and get married to him and settle down in India.
Asad Ahmed Khan:
He had always been opposed to marriage and love. After his Abbu abandoned him and his mother and sister, he had promised himself that he would never fall in love and give another woman a heart break like his father did. he was scared that he would be like his father and hurt the woman he would fall in love. ..hence he stayed away from love and even away from marriage.
He had convinced himself that he would never fall in love, and he had convinced himself that love was not something that would ever happen to him...he did not believe that he had a heart.
Then one fine day he saw the beautiful crying face of a bride at a Darga and his heart reached out to her but still he never imagined that the same girl would one day conquer his heart and become his own bride.
And then this same girl called Zoya Farouqui came to live in his house. She had so many characteristics that irritated him and angered him. Initially they could not stand each other but cupid struck and slowly they never even realized when they fell in love with each other... but once they had accepted what was in their hearts, like all lovers they dreamt of getting married and spending the rest of their loves with each other
But then like many great love stories their love was tested several times. They yearned to become one as husband and wife but their attempt at Nikah failed twice .
But today finally they said Qubool Hai to each other and became each others formally, in front of the worlds best symbol of love, the Taj Mahal.. Their dreams have indeed come true.
And for us viewers, their dream wedding was like a dream only.
The dreamy day began with Ghaffur and Raziya and Tanveer. Ghaffur was devastated knowing Humaira left with Haidar and of all the people it was Tanveer who saw them leaving the previous night and followed out to see what they were up to. And in the process, she also learnt about the venue of the nikah.
Tanveer told Ghaffur that Humaira and Haidar went to Agra in the tempo and Ghaffur followed suit and as expected ended up in Zoya's Nikah to witness the nikah of his other daughter, while Haidar went for sight seeing with Humaira ( was that Fatehpur sikri forte?).
The Dulha and Dulhan meanwhile got ready in their respective rooms, both nervous and apprehensive; perhaps fearing whether this time also they would be able to say QH to each other or not.
And then they were brought to the beautifully decorated venue which over looked the Taj Mahal. Zoya cried seeing the beautiful Taj in front of her.
They then sat in front of each other, separated by a thin veil waiting with held breath and Dilshad teased them saying that they could now see each other and they did and reassured each other through their eyes.
Zoya who has now left finding her Abbu to fate, reached out and opened the MB which she believe is the only connection she has with her lost father.. she did not know that the bridal dress and jewellery she was wearing also came from her father and she did not know that he was standing behind wishing he could come near and give his blessings to her. She cried thinking of the father she never found but seeing Asad's reassuring nod and smile she calmed down and put the Mb away.
The ceremony began. the Qazi did not know Zoya's Abbu's name and what to say in place and Ghaffur dreamt of saying out loud 'Ghaffur Siddique' but he could not and the moment was gone when Dilshad loudly, ver clearly and proudly said Zoya bint Dilshad Ahmed Khan.
The look of gratefulness and happiness on Zoya's face hearing Dilshad's voice and the look of pride on Asad's face on seeing how his mother has become the mother of his beloved, was perhaps the most beautiful moment of the day.
And then the Qazi asked Asad if he accepts Zoya Farouqui as his wife and Asad said that much awaited 'Qubbol Hai' while Zoya looked on shyly.
Next came Zoya's turn and she remembered how Asad named a star Zoya and gifted her the miniature Taj Mahal and she was reassured of his unconditional love for her before she herself said 'Qubool Hai'.
And Qazi announced them as husband and Wife.
Najma and Dilshad then left the couple alone and the guests also conveniently disappeared, leaving the couple to cherish the moment alone in front of the Taj. And the Taj Mahal witnessed Asad kissing Zoya's hand with reverence. Finally Asad recited another Shayari for his beloved which made her too emotional and say that he had completely won this time.
Then they hugged each other in front of the Taj and Zoya buried her face in Asad's chest with a blissful sigh. A beautiful dream has indeed come true.
Best things of the epi:
Zoya finally looked like the beautiful bride that we have always longed to see her as... The maroon, cream and green Dupatta and the maroon and cream gharara was beautiful. The make up was a little heavy but still OK for a bride and I loved the green, red and white Maang Tika as well. Surbhi looked beautiful.
And even Asad's dress, although it could have been better was nice on close up and RV carried it off quite well.
Najma and Dilshad also looked lovely.. I especially liked Najma's hairstyle.
The new back ground music with the lyrics Qubool Hai', which was played after they said Qubool Hai was beautiful.
The decoration of the venue was simple and lovely.. and of course with the Taj at the background nothing else was needed.
The things which I missed:
Aapi and jeeju.
In Muslim weddings, The Qazi addresses the couple and explains to them regarding what a marriage is and its importance... wish that part was included.
Wish it was a Mahaepi and the initial getting ready part was longer with some fun moments.
