The Perfect Date

Part 5

The moon came out of the clouds just then and Asad noticed, around 20 feet away, a faint heap of something swimming away from him. His gut instinct told him that he would find Zoya there and so he swam towards it as fast as he could. But soon he realised that as he tried to move towards it , it moved further away. It took all his energy to swim really fast and catch up to it.

He saw a man wearing in black scuba suit, swimming effortlessly pulling Zoya along with him , while Zoya seemed unconscious. He swam smoothly and soundlessly but he was well aware of Asad's whereabouts and as Asad approached him, he hit him hard. Asad looked at Zoya and his blood boiled. She looked deathly white. Asad hit him back and both the men started struggling. The attacker was a strong man and he tried to drown Asad .But Asad fought back well. They were near the shore now. Asad was still struggling with the man when suddenly there was a loud sound and something hit the water hard right next to him . He realised it was a bullet , someone was trying to shoot them from the mainland.

Another bullet came swirling in , Asad jerked hard and instead of hitting him it hit the attacker. The attacker howled and stopped struggling . Asad pulled Zoya towards himself and tried to move away from the shore out of range of the raging bullets as yet another bullet hit the water very close to them. He could'nt swim to the opposite shore as it was very far off and Zoya was looking very pale and unwell.

He swam along the same shore for a very long distance, he felt very tired but the thought of losing Zoya kept him going .He felt severe pain on his right shoulder and back. But he continued to swim, slowly and steadily till he felt they were safe.He swam towards the far end of the same shore. Once on the shore,he carried Zoya in his arms to a safe spot.Asad put her down on a patch of grass by the shore.

"Zoya!!" Asad cried his eyes blood shot and tears betraying him.

"Please don't do this to me" he muttered almost to himself as he shook her hard. He felt her pulse ,it was very weak -very difficult to find. Her nails and lips were absolutely blue. Her face deathly white. Even her breathing was shallow and erratic.

Zoya !!" Asad cried "I know you can hear me ,please Just hold on -for a while longer .I know you can- for my sake"

He listened to her heart beat which seemed very low. He started giving her mouth to mouth resuscitation trying hard that she would cough up the water that had gone into her lungs.Her lips felt soft as always but icy cold.

"Zoya you taught me to love and to live. Before I met you I was alive but not living my life fully.You cant leave me now when I want to spend the rest of my life with you" He madly continued to do whatever he knew, anything that would help her come back.

He gave her breaths ,he rubbed her hands and feet trying his best to give her some warmth in spite of her wet clothes but he could see she was sinking. Suddenly he felt she wasn't breathing any more.

"ZOYA!!" He shouted "You can't leave me .I command you to come back. When I didn't care whether I was happy or sad ,You forced me to be happy - You forced me to love life. I learnt to view the world through your eyes. Don't push me into darkness again."

He gave her chest compressions and breaths and continued to speak to her. "I swear to God" his own breaths coming erratically " Zoya , if something happens to you ,I'll kill everyone responsible for all this and then kill myself"

Asad saved zoya from attackers but she was pale & her pulse was very low
He tried everything possible to rescue her but he was helpless
Asad vowed himself that he will kill everyone who tried to harm u
& if u r not alive then I will kill myself as well
