Star,

My question is, why DO WE AS AUDIENCE LOOK FOR A SOCIAL MESSAGE IN A SHOW???

Especially one like QH! It is a rom com...fictional drama...not a social message server...and certain socia issues will be brought in- otherwise how can they run the show?

Then they shouldn't have attempted this storyline - they should have refused zee when they said that a PSA must be shown.

I'll reply to you other comment her chicksoup, I hope you don't mind 😊

It's not about zoya apologizing but more about zoya understanding where she was wrong. Dhoni is of no importance when your city is on a strike and your safety is at risk.

If Gul was attempting to or across a message she needs to put across the complete message. Zoya lacked foresight and maturity and her tantrum to see Dhoni could have cost her her life.

I personally don't even think any teleserial on indian tv has even a remote capability of passing a message. ..they are way too TRP centric...i never honestly understood what DABH was trying to say...and BV started losing the plot when they grew up...I think they should stop taking themselves so seriously and dish out good entertainment

I agree because the way the to about it they neither entertain us nor do they get the message across properly

Mayb they will make Zoya apologize to Asad but I'm not sure it would b 4 that... At the max they will just say that asad was right abt the guy... The makers r really sending the wrong msg here esp to easily impressionable teenagers 😕

It's sending our a really wrong message to them.

But I think we should not take away from the fact that at least QH is sending a message about a very important and pertinent point in this day and age - the need to respect a woman for what she is i.e. a human being.
Yes, in the process they could have addressed the fact that women should be responsible for our actions too but doesn't that play right into the hands of the detractors that state that most rapes are to a certain extent the fault of the woman? For that reason I would think its best to keep it simple and stick to just 1 point/message.
As for Zoya not being from Bhopal and therefore not understanding the public transport system, that's valid but how is it not immaturity and stupidity not to call the 1 person you can rely on to protect you when you realise its GETTING late and there are no busses in sight. Why wait until its VERY late. Calling earlier would have also resolved the phone battery dying issue. Zoya is not from the village, she is an educated girl from a pretty intimidating city, NY. How is it she does not realise the folly of walking along on a deserted street and then taking a lift from a total stranger.
Yes she apologised and admitted she was afraid, but does that mean when Asad found out how she exposed herself to the very real danger of being taken advantage of by a stranger, he has no right to express his dissatisfaction. How can that be nit-picking?
Yes he could have expressed relief over her safe return before he got angry but very often when a person is reliefed that the very thing they were super worried about is ok, they take it out on the person who put them through the harrowing experience of that worry. It's very common - may not be right, but it happens.
Zoya needs to understand what she did was wrong or else she is likely to put herself in a similar compromising /dangerous situation again.

It's not about going out - its about zoya being stupid enough to venture out during a strike and then stupidly trusting a stranger. Gul has only given half the message - as much as we would all love others to change that is not how life works. Nobody is stopping anyone from doing their own thing but whatever you do, do it smart.

Had zoya gone and had a car for her return or even come home with a friend this would not even be a discussion.

again a woman should have the freedom to roam around freely! and that is the mesage the cvs are giving!

Delena,

I don't mind at all.😊

Is that the real story? I guess you got your info from F32 that Zee asked them to show something like this...even then, I don't see where you feel they went wrong.

We all agree that Zoya was stupid...and the message is that YOUR STUPIDITY CAN COST YOU YOUR LIFE...as was shown by a scared Zoya standing under the street light...and her confessing to Asad hat she had been scared.

It is not an isolated event...when I said about me going for a movie amidst a strike..I meant it.

IT IS IMPORTANT YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT KIND OF A STIKE IT WAS...ONLY CABS AND AUTOS...Private cars and buses were running...so it was not a bandh...JUST A PEACEFUL DEMONSTRATION of non- co- operation ONLY BY CABS AND AUTOS.

That Mr. Khan offered to take her, had it not been for his 'meeting', itself shows the lightness of the strike situation. I think many of us are MISTAKING it for a HARTAAL...which would be like 'better to stay at home' situation.

If you don't mind me asking you, Do you live in India?😊
I come from a place where we have a record number of hartaals and strikes and what not😆...I don't attribute any significance to a cab strike.😳

I think the message is that, a girl can get into a difficult situation, thanks to her stupidity...but no matter what her situation is, NO GUY HAS THE RIGHT TO JUDGE HER OR TAKE ADVANTAGE OF HER.😳

And again - who the hell is curbing her freedom??? It's about being smart and responsible to ensure that you can do what you want and sill be safe.

Word ...
I have travelled around the world alone, been stranded at airports because of missed connections, and have had to make some expensive choices a little more than i could afford as a grad studentbecause as an independent person i am obligated to keep myself safe and my loved ones worry free. Communication and updating on whereabouts is non negotiable. It is truly a travesty that zoya is the one chosen to preach to the choir! Hell, men too should be scared of getting stranded like that! Rape is not the only crime that can be committed ... Hate crimes, armed robbery, kidnapping you name it.
Zoyas dialogue in the show showed her guilt and acknowledgement pf her foolhardiness. She was not given the virtue of separating her ego frpm the truth. Her subsequent obnoxiousness in the last few episodes including the incredibly stupid face making have lowered her conduct levels to razias crassness.
Its very sad rhat after all the agony and ordeals that she has been through, she emerges as childish, instead of child like.
