I am disappointed with Zoya not because she is failing to see Nikhat's tears and pain over Najma's happiness, but because she is oblivious to Imran and Haseena and how this will pan out for her immature tamater.
She saw first hand Haseena's evil plan of having the families war against each other. She may not know why Nikhat broke off the engagement, but she does know that this guy walked in Najma's life after three years and suddenly only after his engagement broke off.
What is the hurry? She knows the bond between Asad and Ayaan and if not Nikhat, she is somewhat close to Ayaan at least. When she saw him riled up, isn't it sensible to shut up and actually tell Asad, that yes Najma's happiness is important, but she will only be happy, if everything between the two families is sorted and given some time to process. How can Najma be happy after walking over an entire families hopes and dreams so easily? What is the jaldi is my question?
Zoya is someone who is attuned to feelings of people, and hence I understand that she gets Najma's restlessness about getting married ASAP and her jubilations at finally having Imran in her life again. But, where is old Zoya who would also see Ayaan and see his pain? Or see Asad and see what a quandary this situation is for him and how he has to tackle it oh so delicately as to not screw up the relationship further between two families? How is she oblivious to Haseena's nature and what that could mean for Najma's future marital life?
Instead of being a support to the family right now, she is being a needless cupid for Najma. She may support Najma-Imran wedding, but she can be the bhabhi to tell Najma that they need to go slow because a lot of relationships are on stake here.
Where has Dilshad's brain gone? A woman who has suffered a fate where a man leaves her behind to marry someone else, cannot see Nikhat's position? A woman who has first hand seen Haseena come and make accusatory claims on her and Zoya, cannot see how this MIL would ruin her daughter's life? She has to be more stern about this, instead of letting Zoya overrule her fears.
Najma, less said the better. I don't expect her to be in tune to Nikhat's misery or even feel wrong, as she has no idea why engagement was broken or whether Nikhat ever loved Imran. She doesn't know the hollow promises her spineless wimp made to Nikhat. But what is this random love? 3 years later he walks into your life, after having broken up with your step sister, man give it a little thought and time to process it all. Don't jump like some hormonal teenager on the first chance at marrying this useless lallu of yours. Although the blame is not on her shoulder as much as Dilshad, Asad and Zoya.
Asad gets the least blame, because you can see him atleast gauging the situation and looking at all angles, and everyone's feelings, instead of only looking out for his tamater. He is being wrong on many levels, but he is at least being shown mature.
Dilshad and zoya are disappointing. Zoya needed to hear Asad ask hr to shut up for once. I loved it. Enough of this love sick puppy-giri. That girl needs a reality check sometimes.
But Gul, please give us the old Zoya back. Watching her be a walking talking moron is upsetting. She is so much more than this.
