thanks...QH stirs our minds, doesn't it?
Asad & Zoya's Story: Mirror Images?
While Asad and Zoya have lived the majority of their lives on different continents and with a different set of value system, it's not a mere coincidence that since they have met, a number of incidents in their respective lives mirror each other. Is it the writer's way of bringing out the irony in their lives; a way to help them see each other's perspectives? Is it a way of showing us that one can never empathize with another person unless we are in their shoes?
This is a very interesting observance for sure. It seems to be the case with Asad and Zoya. Outwardly they seem so different but if you look deeper you actually see that they are very similar. This is purely my own opinion and my own understanding of Zoya and Asad's characters thus far. They have both experienced some sort of heartbreak in their childhood. Asad was raised by a single mother. His father betrayed his mother and the entire family and left them. As far as Asad is concern he has no father. Zoya briefly had her mother until she was murder by Razia. Her father was non-existent in her life. Even though she was later adopted into Zeenat's family the longing to be with "one of your own" or know more about your "roots"...her biological father...her family's past has always remained with Zoya. Zoya longs for this familial love; even Asad despite his hatred for Rashid deep down inside longs for the love of a father.
Absolutely agree...in fact I had made a post a long time ago on how Asad and Zoya are actually similar. Not only with respect to their past stories but also in the way they view relationships, marriage and family
So to me they are very much the same...both longing to belong to someone..to find that inner peace.
They just hide their pain in different ways. Asad is serious, thinks with his head, keeps his heart closed, does not trust people easily, and is very logical. He keeps a wall between himself and the world. I know that the serial has shown Asad having OCD but I always wondered if this was triggered when Rashid left them. The traumatic event of seeing your father leave as if he didn't care and seeing your mother in tears and fall into depression could cause a psychological response. Asad was so young he had no control over the situation. The only thing he could control was himself.
absolutely...a number of kids develop emotional issues after parental separation. Asad probably developed OCD and control issues and in fact, Zoya has ADD (if you look at all her symptoms)- also a result of her childhood trauma
Zoya is carefree, thinks with her heart, smiles away her troubles, and gives people the benefit of the doubt. She hides behind her cheery demeanor and jokes things away so she doesn't have to think about depressing things.
The one thing I loved about Qubool Hai is the complex storytelling. The story was the first thing that attracted me to the show. I like how the characters interact and how all their paths are interconnected despite there being two houses. I cannot wait until more truths get revealed and we have the two families interacting more. Along with the storyline is the character development. I can actually see character growth in Asad, Zoya, and Ayaan. And I think right now in the story we are seeing each of them learning important lessons and their attempts to rectify their mistakes.
same here...it's the characterization and concept+ KSG (of course) that drew me to this story
Based on these mirror incidents, are we going to see the following in future?
1. Qubool Nahin Hai: Will Zoya stop Asad-Tanu nikaah just like Asad stopped Akram-Zoya's nikaah? In both cases, the nikaah would be forced and not a willing alliance.
This would be interesting if the serial took this route. I think all of us are trying to figure out what the CVs will have Tanveer do next. I'm surprised they haven't had Tanveer use the pregnant card yet. Even though logically it wouldn't make much sense as she would be easily exposed since the serial has even mentioned that she will be showing her baby bump soon. But knowing how logic generally does not work well in these serials I have a feeling Tanveer will play this card soon once Zoya returns to Khan mansion.
Exactly! I feel that is her trump card and she will use it when all else fails. Yes, we shouldn't expect logic from our serials
I would love it if the CVs allowed Asad to use his brain and start doubting some things that are currently being spoon fed to him by Tanveer. I know a lot of people here on the forum cannot stand how the CVs have dumb down Asad's character. But a lot of this is truly tied to Asad's unwavering faith in his childhood best friend. Asad doesn't have many close friends and most of his close relationships are with his family only. I think people keep forgetting that fact that Asad has closed himself to the rest of the world. He only allows certain people into his inner circle. Tanveer unfortunately, has turned into a rotten apple. But Asad doesn't know this and she has never given him any indication as such till this date that she has changed and is not the same person he once knew. Those in Asad's inner circle are people he trust and he would never doubt them unless there is proof...not just speculation but undeniable "see with your eyes" proof that the person is doing something wrong.
Asad is paying the price of being a good friend. You are right, Asad doesn't have too many people he depends on and unfortunately, Tanu is one of them...that's why it will take a big reveal for him to snap his ties with tank but I can't wait for that day!
It would be awesome if Asad ends up teaming up with Zoya to get to the bottom of things. But considering poor Asad's state he has completely lost faith in himself and is a broken and battered individual at the moment. I just don't see CVs doing anything for Asad's character at the moment. So Zoya, Superwoman...Ms. Bond to the rescue it is! 😆
yeah, that's what I feel too...especially after the forum 32 article
3. Asad's blind faith in Tanveer has been the biggest point of contention in their relationship in recent months. Will tables turn when Ghafoor's identity as Zoya's abbu is revealed? Will we see Zoya trust her abbu blindly? Just so she can win him over? Will this create tension in Asad-Zoya's (hopefully married life by then?)
I'm on the fence with Gaffur. I don't know if he is as evil as Razia. I thought there was some redemption in him when we saw him at the orphanage but then he blew up and tried to slap the poor kid was accidentally ran into Zoya with the tea tray. We still do not know the full story and how things came to be with Zoya's mother and Razia. It should be interesting how things play out. I think it will be dependent on how the things get revealed. If it is a partial truth then I think we may see Zoya for a time wanting to speak to her father and understand and know more about him and Asad being unhappy with her trying to get close to Gaffur. But eventually Asad will understand and by this point Asad and Zoya's relationship will should be stronger...and yes, hopefully married by then.
I have a feeling that Zoya will initially try to appease her dad as she has craved from him all her life. Asad will try to deter her but that might create issues between them...just like Tanu has created a rift between Asya
5. Jealousy: We have seen a jealous Zoya when Jammy-Tanu story was unfolding. How about a jealous Asad when Raabert-Mona story takes off?
It would be nice to see a Jealous Asad. But I think the Zoyaan ship has already sailed. At least to me it has unless the CVs have some gigantic plot twist and throw this into the mix...you never know with the CVs...anything can be possible. I would prefer another man to enter Zoya's life. For instance it could be a co-worker...Zoya gets a job after getting married to Asad. I just do not see Zoya as a stand at home kind of girl...not that I have anything wrong with that if the CVs do this to her but it would be nice to see her as working woman/wife. It will add more possible storylines for the CVs to explore.
That would be wonderful but we have to remember the initial dargah symbolism and ayaan statement from the other day😕
Phew...wrote a lot...don't know if any of it made sense of even answered any of your points 😆
hey...loved all your points
