Asad & Zoya's Story: Mirror Images?
This is an interesting observation based on the story ( so far) and many posts I have read about AsYa. I would like to credit Vicky, MKI, Shrishti for some of their observations too.
While Asad and Zoya have lived the majority of their lives on different continents and with a different set of value system, it's not a mere coincidence that since they have met, a number of incidents in their respective lives mirror each other. Is it the writer's way of bringing out the irony in their lives; a way to help them see each other's perspectives? Is it a way of showing us that one can never empathize with another person unless we are in their shoes?
Dargah Scenes:
If the first Dargah scene had Zoya crying and pleading to Allah with Asad paying his reverence to Allah, the second Dargah scene highlighted the opposite- Asad crying and pleading while Zoya just paid her respects.
Trust Issues:
In the past, on several occasions, Asad's mistrust of Zoya and her actions has created a misunderstanding between them. Fast forward to the eventful June 20-21st episode. Zoya lost complete trust in the man she had immense trust in. Ironically, just as Zoya had been innocent in the past, this time Asad was completely innocent but couldn't prove it to Zoya.
Communication Issues:
In the past, we have seen Asad unwilling to hear Zoya's POV. Lately, we have seen the opposite happen. Zoya has refused to hear his side of the story after the SR incident.
Frantic Pursuit:
Just like we saw Asad frantic dash to the airport after he learnt of Zoya's innocence, we are now seeing Zoya's frantic search for him after she deduced that Tanveer was behind the SR fiasco and Asad is innocent.
Based on these mirror incidents, are we going to see the following in future?
- Qubool Nahin Hai: Will Zoya stop Asad-Tanu nikaah just like Asad stopped Akram-Zoya's nikaah? In both cases, the nikaah would be forced and not a willing alliance.
- Asad's blind faith in Tanveer has been the biggest point of contention in their relationship in recent months. Will tables turn when Ghafoor's identity as Zoya's abbu is revealed? Will we see Zoya trust her abbu blindly? Just so she can win him over? Will this create tension in Asad-Zoya's (hopefully married life by then?)
- Jealousy: We have seen a jealous Zoya when Jammy-Tanu story was unfolding. How about a jealous Asad when Raabert-Mona story takes off?
