The Moral Scale - My thoughts

There are, of course ,two sides to the argument and I find my self stuck between the two.

On one hand as a modern feminist, the argument that a woman can wear what she wants, when she wants seems most attractive. In the sense that my body is my own and no man or society can determine how I dress. In India there is a lot of taboo in the way women dress. The head should be covered, no skin should be shown... restriction on clothing was actually a means of suppression of women for the better of history. Restriction on clothing can be viewed as a regressive thought. And it's entirely justified because a lot of it is stemmed from the thought process of a chauvinistic society. One can argue that tehzeeb comes from the heart and not from what you wear.

But, there's always a but

There is something called a comfort level and being aware of your surrounding. If someone wears a dress showing cleavage in an office party, i would judge them. There are no two ways about it. Being non-judgmental sounds good on paper but it's the most overrated term because it's impossible. We judge everything we see. And the argument that it's not right to wear something which makes majority of the people surrounding you uncomfortable is also right. I mean I would not wear my mini skirt in front of my mother, because I know I would give her a heart attack and I love my mother. It's not because my mother is suppressing me but because I respect her and her comfort level.

We all have different moral scales. Some may be okay with showing a little bit of skin, still others may be okay with showing a lot of skin and still still others may not be okay with any amount of skin.

PS- You know while writing this I realised something.. everyone(including my self) here is totally okay with KSG going shirtless with no questions on any morality or anything. Women... 😆

I mean has anyone ever posted that KSG should stop going shirtless? I mean if he did (Heaven's forbade) decide to go all 'tehzeeb' on us... pretty sure we'd have petitions against it 😆

As long as we keep it at moral scales and don't bring religion into it the argument is valid!

Well written RC and I agree, though I am ok with everyone showing a LOT of skin on TV 😆

No, women are partial to their ovaries over a man's testosterone- double standards and am beginning to hate the word 'tehzeeb'.🥱...Karan can go shirtless whenever he wants but he tells Surbhi at the end of the segment to go and wear her jeans.🤔... i hope he was joking , though.😆

She showed her back, legs should not matter now 😆

However, coming back to your topic. 👍🏼 on the comfort thingy. Know what you can carry off. Very important.

I was refraining from commenting on any topic related to the skirt issue LOL..but I would just say am a big time feminist and also believe in the freedom of thoughts and stuff for all especially females but at the same time one should be pratical enough..I don't know about the muslim culture much but yeah I've read on google bout the restraints when it comes to Muslim lady's clothes yet I feel everyone has evolved and Its upto people how they behave. For me religion/religious book is only a guide about ideal living and not a blue print of How I should live my life.
At the same time I feel that slit on the front was a lil indecent thus the twitching in seat for me lol..Also I agree I would never wear something too scandalising if people around me are gonna feel uncomfortable..umm but Zoya was home so and it was wrong timing!
P.S- My suggestion to Zoya, next time you do any such thing make sure you lock/latch the door!

Religion is a big part of our moral scale and you know to each their own.

As long as everyone respects each others' views that is. 😆

Be comfortable in what you wear. Very important indeed.
