Because they dnt teach them Urdu in India in schools they speak it as at home family speak it and if they attend mosques it's taught there majority of the population ate not Muslims and dnt speak Urdu read Urdu so it can get difficult for the viewers who are a majority it is not a big deal i mean I learnt Urdu at home I can speak it read it but I can not write a sentence on my own as I did not learn it at school ANC it wasn't our second language as well so chill guys enjoy the show

The number of people who are able to read English is bound to be much lower. Reading a language is predicated on the ability to speak it and not the other way around. But I guess you're having a laugh here. 😉😊

Nope...like I said...my ENTIRE extended family...know how to write English especially the kids since they write in English at school for all their subjects but dont know how to speak well so 😆 Anyway we should probably stop since this can go on forever if we dont stop now 😆

but on second thought i may have jumped in, i think you were referring to someone called sadia, at first i thought sadia was your name, but I guess not, my bad 😆

Yes, they are pretty common in urban areas, but india has a huuuge rural population too...Same for work places/schools etc, even they are in English in urban places only. And only 31% is urban population. In fact in many schools even subjects like Science and Maths are taught in regional languages/hindi...not english

Okay this quote thing is getting reaally long and confusing so let's just end it :P

U thought I was Sadia? 🤣 Oh welll...I'm mystery girl aka Rosy 😳 No one knows my real name or anything much abt me so thats why I'm also the mystery girl 😆 And subjects are only taught in Hindi in Govt. schools which only poor people go to nowadays...but I really need an answer on reading Zee Tv an Qubool Hai fact 🤣 Or...we can just end it here 😃 Whats ur name? 😃

They don't write in english either because English speaking people in India can still read Hindi but Hindi speaking people won't be able to read english. They do it for the audience of India. I am not Indian nor i can read Hindi but it's common sense why they show Hindi script.

i hv read like a million posts abt how most Indians cant read Urdu bt they can read hindi hence the choice of language, to all those I want to say this- yes most Indians can't read Urdu script, many havn't even ever seen it. Doesnt it make it all the more imp for the CVz to show it? So that ppl who dont know abt Urdu wud get to know abt this cultural aspect of India?and appreciate it..Ppl accept it or not, Urdu is an essential part of Indian Muslim culture, its our language. If the CVz are making a show with a Muslim backdrop, Urdu deserves a place in it... And for those who say they wouldn't hv understood whats written- u know actors always read aloud whats written on papers, specially in Indian shows. And lastly I am saddened by the lack of interst in getting to know abt the Muslim culture in forum members.

Was wondering the same too! Maybe they think they're mass audience is only in India, which perhaps isn't true, hence, the language selection. Nevertheless, it would've been pretty amazing to see them read and write in Urdu. TM raised a good point.

Considering they are Indian Muslims - I don't see why they need to know how to write Urdu. The only part of India where Urdu is known in its true form (spoken as well as written) is Uttar Pradesh. Just because they are Muslim it doesn't make Urdu their culture.

Urdu- Every "Muslim's" culture.
Urdu- Perhaps not every "Indian Muslim's" culture. And they're being shown as an Indian Muslim family so guess that's okay?

Urdu is definitely not every Muslims culture. Who are you or anyone to define what true Muslim culture is?

Of course it's ok. This is like expecting all Hindus to speak Sanskrit.
