"ZOYA!"
"Calm down Asad."
"Seriously?"
"Seriously."
"You're impossible."
"You're boring. It's just water."
"I'm not going in there."
"Look at your face. It's as if you saw a ghost. Get in the water. It's awesome."
"Please bhaijaan! Get in!"
"Only if she stops splashing me."
"God. You're a baby. Get in. I pinky promise I won't splash you."
Dilshad watched from a distance. Zoya made her quirky family, quirkier. Life has funny ways of teaching us things. She could see her Akdu son trying to have some fun after a long time. And all because of Zoya.
"Bhabhi'I'm going to go sit with Ammi."
"Okay Tamatar! Have fun. I'll take care of this Akdu. Don't worry, I'm a champion of a swimmer."
"Who says I can't swim?" He fumed.
"Your face." She said, giggling. She could sense how uncomfortable he was. But she loved that he tried.
"Zoya'I don't enjoy this."
"I know. But thank you for trying."
They smiled at each other. It didn't take much for them to get lost in each other's eyes.
I love his eyes. They speak volumes. And day-um. He look sexy in water. If it was upto to me. He'd always be in water. That way he'd always be shirtless. And then he'd truly be Jahapana-Six-Packs.
"So. You want to keep me in water at all times so you can ogle at my body, Ms. Farooqi?"
Shit. Did I say that out loud. Um. Crap. "I wasn't talking about you, Selfish Ahmed Khan. I was talking about that hottie behind you."
"There's no one behind me."
"Yes. There was."
"And you call them Jahapana-Six-Packs as well?"
"Well, you aren't the only one with a heavenly body."
"Oh I know." I looked down at her body. She wore a modest swimsuit. But oh man, did she look hot.
If it was upto me, I'd have her right here.
"So. You want me right here, Mr. Khan?"
Ur...Did I say that out loud? She was smirking. Damn. She's cocky. I like it.
"Zoya! Asad! Come have some food."
"Saved by the bell, Mr. Khan."
"Let's go, Ms. Farooqi."
He handed her a towel to dry off. She smiled a thanks. Beach days are so great.
"Phupi...I'm going to go get something to drink for all of us."
"Okay, beta. Thank you. Asad, go help her."
"But..."
"Go."
"Fine."
They could see a caf not too far off. They trekked along slowly. Stealing glances at each other. Their hand barely a fraction far from each other. They itched to hold hands. And before Asad knew it, Zoya was ordering for the four of them.
"Four virgin strawberry daiquiri's please!"
"Um..Ms. Farooqi..?"
"Don't worry, Mr. Khan. No alcohol I promise."
A comfortable silence came over them as they waited for their drinks. Till, that silence was broken by the giggling of three young women, obviously checking out Mr. Khan. He didn't have a shirt on.
"Allah Miya, what's wrong with them? Ogling at you like that."
"Ms. Farooqi, If I'm not mistaken, you do the exact same thing."
"Really, Mr. Khan?"
She glared at him while he smirked, enjoying the fact that she got jealous.
"Look at his abs. Whew."
"Forget his abs. Look at this ass."
"Uh..hello. Abs. End of story."
"Um. No. You're both idiots. Look at him. Nuff said."
They burst into a fit of giggles.
Zoya couldn't take it anymore. She walked over, turned around to give Mr. Khan a devilish smile.
He couldn't hear what exactly she was saying. But he saw her pointing at him. And he saw the expressions of the girls. It went from shock to laughing to shock again. And it was even more frustrating to see Zoya laugh with them.
When she finally made it back, they picked up their drinks and started walking back.
"So, what'd you say to them?"
"To who?"
"You-know-who."
"Voldemort?"
"What?"
"I don't know. You were the one who said you-know-who."
"Zoya. I meant the girls."
"Oh. Nothing."
"Out with it."
Only that you're abs aren't real. And that you're mean. And that you have a ego problem."
"Are you serious?"
"Of course not. That's obviously not true. No one has fake abs."
"What'd you say then?
"To who?"
"I'm not going through the motions again."
"Haha! Alright. First I complimented you...they agreed wholeheartedly. Then all I said is that you and me are swingers. And that we would love it if they'd join us."
He stood rooted to the spot. He couldn't believe his ears.
"Come on, Mr. Khan. Don't be a weirdo."
"I'm the weirdo?"
"Hell. Yes."
"Here are your drinks ladies! I hope you like them!"
"Where's Asad?"
"He's standing right there."
"Why isn't he moving?"
"Who knows?"
