- Asad is madly in love with Zoe. Check.
- Asad can neither let go of Zoe nor hold her back. Check.
- Asad is in an emotional rapid called Zoe, and he has no control over his boat. Check.
- Asad is frustrated and mind-beeped with the whole situation for once nothing is in his control. Neither Zoe, nor he himself. Check.
It is a commendable job on the part of the creatives , no matter how much you thrash them on every second or third thread -that how they turned Asad's and Zoe's showdown over BCA into a personal frustration war between Asad and Zoe, especially on Asad's front actually. It starts with Asad's nth reminder and lecture to Zoe about her history of being irresponsible from Maryam to Humeira reaching the hospital- and it comes down to the following:
- Why do you have to put your foot into anything at all! Everything goes wrong and i scream my lungs out at you and we both get frustrated. Validation: The angry tears in his eyes when he is howling at Zoe.
- Actually, its not about Tanveer or you taking something as a joke for the nth time, its about me being reminded that maybe this is how you were thinking when you said 'Naqlee Nikaah kar lette hain'. Is that what you were thinking when you showed off that engagement ring to everyone? I am doing all this for my Mom. You? Is it another fun marathon? That is why you declined any feelings or a yes when i asked you if you will marry me for real?
THAT is Asad's issue deep down - the real issue actually if you think about it. The chicken blood and Tannu ka menucard were a trigger to what is actually bothering him inside : That Zoe does not take anything seriously. That Zoe can go to the extent of a Naqlee Nikaah with him, without reflecting what she feels for him.
As for Zoe? The woman is truly, madly, deeply in love with Asad . Going against her character and saying an 'ok' to Asad when he tells her not to disturb Tannu. Going all frantic and fragile with skipped heartbeats when she bumps into Asad and trying to keep her face and breath steady. Smiling like a smitten bride as Dilshad hugs her and tells her that Asad will be back soon. Waiting in child-like anticipation that Asad is finally gonna get her a gift. Bursting into tears on Asad's words - blood sample in the backburner and 'aap mere baare mein aisaa soch bhi kaise sakte hain?'
Zoe's history of lies and deceit have only made it easier for Asad to have trust issues on her. Yes, he loves her but he sees her 'Jhooth ke pairr nahiin hotte' as her weak spot. Just like Zoe sees his emotional warping , his MCP shades , his jackass judgmental attitude as his weak spots.
And the cherry on top is that Tannu is frying mozarella cheese on these very weak spots. The negatives of Asad and Zoe. Asad's judgmental nature and Zoe's backstory of lying and cheating Asad ,even though with good intentions.
For an outsider, its not about 'Asad, you jerk, you don't deserve Zoe' or 'Asad , you have no brains;, or 'Zoe, open your mouth and tell him off' or 'Zoe, this is your history's hazards at work' . Its about seeing the chaos theory at work where Asad's and Zoe's basic personalities are being used to Tannu's advantage,
Whose fault is it anyway? NOBODY. Asad tells Zoe to take Tannu's blood sample and it turns out to be that of a chicken. Natural reaction: Confront Zoe and judge her on her long list of lies.
Zoe is shocked to know that its a chicken's blood in the lab. Natural reaction: WHAT THE!
Asad and Zoe do not know the middle story and that story is only known to Tanveer. Asad and Zoe reacted true to their personalities. Asad's logic is emotional and Zoe's logic is sensible. So, bet your money on Zoe as far as exposing BCA is concerned.
Anyway, it seems all this is building up towards something major because BCA's antics are increasing episode after episode. Who knows what is waiting at the next corner.
I maybe sticking out like a sore thumb but the last few sentences of Asad to Zoe, with his face turned away and tearful, made it evident that what he said may have begun with Tanveer but it was not about chicken's blood after all.
P.S- Everytime someone says that Asad doesn't deserve Zoe, i just feel like saying one thing. Love embraces everything in a lover - good, bad and hopes to change the ugly. If Asad is the man who screamed at Zoe today, he is the same man who went down on his knees for the same woman in front of the whole world with a face that embodied love. If Zoe is the woman who lies to Asad and cheats him now and then, she is the same woman who risked herself so many times just to see him smile. You don't put the person you love on a marksheet - you release , liberate and embrace them , no matter what they are made of. This is why Asad puts that ring on Zoe's finger against his own self. This is why Zoe dreams of the Asad she will love to see. Selfless. Unconditional. Bottomless. :-)
