The bathroom scene was flawless, Asad's reaction, his prompt action, Zoya's surprise and anger and then his proving himself... everything was awesome. I even liked how Zoya held him and questioned about his feelings, pushing him a tad bit to see whether he confesses or not. I liked it a lot, very nicely done on one on one basis.
Dilshad's watching them showed the blessings they have from her, it means there are no issues from her end. Again the dupatta touch was beautifully done and Zoya's choosing it also shows no matter what in the end Asad and Zoya will be together.
The beginning of the reception party was so romantic, that look of Asad he never gave to Zoya except for in Bolna Halke scene when he was under intoxication. All other times his look is of admiration but he controls himself but today he was uninhibited in his expressions. Both were looking mind blowing as well.
Ok after this I had some problem in comprehending. CV's I completely understand why Zoya did what she did and maybe any girl in her position would do the same but what I didn't like was involving 3rd person to make Asad take notice, to push him to confess. Why in public? When she did it in the bathroom it was bang on but using outsiders is not my cup of tea. I know she thinks under pressure Asad will do and confess what she wants him to but will she really get Asad's approval in doing that? And what bothered me was she will be humiliated herself when Dilshad and Asad didn't volunteer about the engagement and she went on and on. I don't know but that didn't go down well with me. If she did it at home barging in his room like she does I would have clapped at her persistence but here in public I was a little skeptical.
Another thing that bothered me was not even once Zoya had an introspection of her own feelings. All along she craved Asad's protection and attention but not once we saw why she wants it, why she wants him to be happy and she feels happy in his happiness, why his smile brings a smile on her face, why she can't see him upset, why does his ignorance bother her so much, why does his friendship with Tanveer irritate her, why doesn't she want to go back to NYC to her appi and jiju, Why did she want Asad to stop him and why did she stop when he asked her to, why does she want to be engaged to Asad, what is she thinking of her future in Asad's house?! I know she is impulsive, childish, and to some extent immature but still she must feel something for sure to persist and push Asad this way. I want to see this introspection which will justify her actions. I can understand she is confused but that didn't need to be solved this way.
What I felt was Zoya doesn't comprehend what she is getting into, she saw a side of Asad but the abyss inside him is totally alien to her and when she will see it she will be shaken for sure. I am not saying she is incapable of handling him because she has in previous circumstances but then she saw just one instance of his pain but when she will be face to face with the whole chasm of hurt and pain she will be shocked.
Again I am not criticizing Zoya and neither am I supporting Asad and this post is not Asad vs. Zoya because to me they are one and same and this story is incomplete without either of them. But Zoya needs to have a solid grasp of her feelings before she even pushes Asad to confess his.
I want Asad to ask her in turn, why do you want me to say I care for you, why do you want me accept this engagement as real, why does it matter so much when I say this is a fake engagement, why does it bother you to think that this was a drama, what are you going to do if I accept this engagement with you, will you be happy to be my fianc only or are you thinking of marriage as well, are you ready to marry me, why do you want to marry me, where do you see yourself 5 years hence from now with me...I want Asad to probe now and get the answers. To some extent it seemed all like a tease and joke for Zoya. I know being Zoya this is how she best does it, she takes one day at a time and acts on impulse but she has to grow a little before she is ready to take a plunge like this. Flirting and batting her eyelids won't get what she wants from a MAN like Asad Ahmad Khan, these works on boys but not AAK. I needed her to think with some maturity, can we please have this CV's?
And tomorrow many of us think Asad might temporarily give in and then maybe back out or go back on his words because he can't decide and make up his mind and that may very well happen but I also feel for the first time Asad will open up that side of his that he keeps away from every one including his 'ammi'. I think he won't reject her plainly or refute the validity of the engagement or simply say he doesn't take the engagement to be real but most probably he will confess how she will never be happy with him because he is not happy himself and thus can't make her happy, he will burn her as well in his own fire of wrath and setbacks, how she will feel lonely in that vastness of void that he has within himself, how he can't ever give her the love she wants because he is always running away from that feeling which he feels is forbidden for him, how he can't protect her when he himself is the biggest danger in her life posing as a threat to her happiness and sanctity of life...in short he is the misfit and he is not fit for someone worthy like her. I may be completely wrong and Asad may not say any of this but he feels so for sure. He has been so scarred that he himself doesn't know how badly he has been affected in his life. This show tells me what an important role parents has to play in their kid's life. One wrong step from them and their children suffers the consequences of their actions for the rest of their life. One step of Rashid has left Asad psychologically impaired for life.
I am not saying Zoya shouldn't do what she is doing but only to amend her ways a little and before doing so to understand herself thoroughly and then try to comprehend the cause of Asad's emotional incompetency.
Tomorrow there will be lots of drama between the 2 families, public display of spar of words, insults and humiliations, Razia's accusations at seeing Zoya and finally the point where Dilshad had to push Asad emotionally into marriage because of the challenges thrown at her by Shireen.
Unfortunately both brothers are pushed into marriage against their will maybe under different circumstances but both are not ready for it and has to get in to it because of their moms. I know Ayaan is weak compared to Asad but when a pillar like Asad is forced to lean and bend it doesn't stay in one piece, it falls apart.
Will definitely wait and watch for tomorrow and hope it turns out favorably to our wishes. Today I actually felt sad for Asad and I wish the best for Zoya.
