Prologue
She looked at the door before her, eyes wide in fright and helplessness. She took a deep breath and turned the knob of the door as instructed to her before.
She stepped in a hallway, clutching a small bundle and wrapping the thin shawl more tightly around her. She took in her opulent surroundings, a room done in various shades of red and bathed in a dim light. The effect would have been comforting but for the threat that hung over her. She shivered but it was not because she was cold.
'You are late.' a deep masculine voice spoke from the shadows on the other side of the room. As the voice moved towards her she backed away to the opposite side of the room in fear. But the man turned towards the hall and closed the door shut, his face still hidden by the darkness. He turned and said
'Let's start shall we.'
