fab post. yesterday for me was just annoying. I couldn't believe how strong characters were just being completely eviscerated by terrible characterization of anger. Dilshaad the strong, graceful, level-headed woman reacted like how a 17 year old would act in defense of her first love. Bleargh!

How did a woman who loves her children so much fail to see her son's emotional trauma? And to top it off she whacks him!

And the Razia-Rashid scene...really??? It took him 17 years to wake up to the fact that she was evil??? Was he living under a rock? And of course choking a woman in the middle of you living room is way to confront someone who has been blackmailing you...god forbid you use your brains and use the situation to your advantage. *sigh*

Honestly, after yesterday, the whole lot of them need to see an anger management counselor or better yet a therapist! (except poor Najma...)

Discussion Forum

Even the best person is ruined by an inappropriate display of anger and the strongest and most confident person is destroyed and degraded when he or she is the victim of someone's wrath and anger. The writers of this show have a prime opportunity to add an additional theme of how anger either externalized and/or internalized can be used to fuel an unjust cause.

Dilshaad is a reminder that even the wisest and most elegant and steadfast woman loses her inability to think rationally when she is in love. Rashid is her love and she is blinded by that love. So blinded that she forgot that her son is a grown man who has stood by her for years should be worthy of at least some respect. It was disappointing to see her raise her hand at him and that too in front of Najma and Zoya.

I definitely agree...as a therapist I see a lot of work that needs to be done with this family. 😊

Fantastically analyzed. And beautifully penned down. Agree with every word you just said.

So honored at this was a tough post to write.I honestly wasn't sure whether I should post it; for me it was not one of the best posts I had penned and was actually a bit embarrassed by it. It was a real struggle to write as I hadn't looked a this book in a while and so I had to do a bit of reading before I did this. I had noted the anger element for each character and had to think a while about how their anger motivated and shaped their behavior. I am glad it was well received.

Awesome post Laila2009! I read most of the responses and can't seem to agree more...
my first reaction of Dilshad's slap to Asad was, "hmmm, now I see where Asad gets that type of behavior from lol" Can't help but laugh -this is like a circus!

I have so many questions that I throw at the screen when the show is going on😆
like:

1. Does Zoya not recall that she saw a woman talking to Raghu Singh-they show that she can see parts of Razia's dress?

2. It took Rashid 17years to figure out that Razia is blackmailing him-even though she has said it then and off-n-on many times now that if he leaves she will let out the secret? what is wrong with that man?

3. Does Dilshad not see that Rashid did cheat on her and start this mess when he got involved with Shireen in the first place?

4.Does Shireen not see her actions of abandoning Aayan when he was but a child and now she is pointing fingers at Asad behaving as a step brother?

5. Seems like Razia begum has some issues with Siddique as well-when she said to him, "why start the game of fire if you are scared of it" the look on her face and tone said a lot!

People in this family/ies are living with lots of unresolved issues which is swept under the rug so ofcourse they are going to have anger issues!
