To a large extent the characters have completely devolved from their earlier much more composed persona.
That most people react rather emotionally when faced with such trying times is not the point in question.
I would argue that the character of Zoya, especially, has taken a deep nose-dive, in terms of being self-respecting, strong, and totally self-sufficient.
Now her character is reduced to doing silly, illogical and/or dangerous acts from which the Knight in Rusty Armor has to rescue her... they have reduced her to a Damsel in Distress ( Mungulpour incident, going after Rughoo, etc.)
Not satisfied with this, the PH has further cut her character down to that of the standard long-suffering woman who takes any abuse dished out by 'her' man - verbal, emotional, physical - and always forgives him in the name of love, his pain, the situation, or any other excuse that comes handy.
I have said it before and I will continue to say it... there is absolutely no social cause being promoted by any show on any channel. They are adept at portraying evil in all its guises - all details being shown step-by-step for would-be perpetrators watching - but I have yet to see anyone taking weeks to showcase the consequences.
I am very disappointed in this show. I liked Zoya's spunky character, and now she is scraping the bottom of the barrel for self-respect.
That Dishaad's character has also suddenly become her husband's champion is a great mystery. Early episodes show-cased her being 'khouddaar' and working hard to support herself and her kids...the person now being shown is totally weak. Time heals a lot of wounds...and 17 years is a long time to carry so much hatred or even so much love. It is romanticized in poetry and movies (Veer-Zaara, eg_), but reality is far different.
All of a sudden, Raashid is now contacting Dishaad and romanticizing her again... the situation has not changed, other than some truths coming to light, courtesy Nikhut's engagement or Zoya's digging, so why has he started this now?
As for Uhsud, you have outlined his anger issues well...the problem is, all this is a crapshoot and it will never go away unless the whole family seeks help and moves on.

WORDAlas I realized something - hindi soaps are not worth the effort i put into them. On many levels QH absolutely disgusts me especially Rashid and the mockery in the name of showcasing a social cause. Why do I still watch it? Apparently 20mins of mindless entertainment in the form of melodrama has some sick sort of attraction. The TRPs show it, the fact I watch this show, shows it. Quite pathetic actually. So i try to justify why i watch this show by picking out the things I like which is even more pathetic.I guess having too much time on my hands is the only real reason 😆

Hey Laila,
Lovely post here. You've captured the crux of how anger has impacted these characters beautifully.Anger needs to be expressed. If not, it can manifest in other forms that can do more damage to the individual and those around.Asad's anger manifests in his need to be in control, in his inability to look beyond the obvious and inability to trust anyone else's judgement. In a way, he expects the worst in people, except those close to him and those he trusts. His obsessive compulsive behaviour is his need to be in control, cos he had very little control over his early life. If he'd behaved calmly, the events would have turned out different.I don't know if I'd label Rashid as passive aggressive unless you're looking at certain behaviours like considering himself the victim, self pity, helplessness, then yes I guess it's fine. I think Rashid is a man without hope, and he's responsible for the muck he got himself into. Only he doesn't want to see it. But I'm going to reserve my judgement till I know the timelines and whether he committed adultery. He set fire to the factory, so he's no saint. He made bad choices... Even in the toughest situations, the men with b**lls will do the right thing. And he isnt one of them. He definitely does not deserve the love of those two women. How he expressed his anger towards Razia, well it got him nowhere. If he'd thought through it calmly, he might have got Razia to trip up.With Dilshad, it's anger and frustration at how her life turned out. And maybe angry with herself that despite all that Rashid's done, she cannot let go and she still cares for him. Old habits die hard they say. I think her anger at Asad's action yesterday was part frustration at Asad's inability to trust in her blind belief that Rashid's innocent, and at some level, frustration about her weakness for her husband. He's her blind spot and rather than admit he's committed a crime (arson) forget murder (btw, did they forget about the skeleton?) she'll focus on the one thing she knows he didn't do... Attempt to kill her.Honestly, after watching today's episode, I don't know what to make of Dilshad. Disappointed with her for sure, to say the least.
