brilliant analysis of all three characters on anger

As for rashid his anger is because of guilt and helplessness and he lets it out in a violent way
but if this option is considered then why did he move on to have a family with shireen
so he two timing both the ladies

for dilshad she was more of a wife yesterday than a mother which is not fair because the same person left her for another family .
But her POV may be she felt she had rights over her son so she ended behaving like an insane person

as far as understanding goes i feel all three should attend anger management courses
within that time frame they may develop some sort of understandings.

cvs are justifying one mistake with another mistake

Thank you so much..it's just one take; and I am sure there are many more and multiple different versions. One common thread I noted is the most of explosive anger among these three in the past 24 hours - a lot of anger unleashing...and a lot of people unfortunately getting hurt.

All three are in desperate need of therapy and some anger management as the three of them are unleashing their anger in some unhealthy and inappropriate ways. I don't believe anyone has rights over anyone and hence the idea that gives them permission to slap someone. Dilshaad is most definitely Asad's mother but for her to do that to him was most degrading and inappropriate. Anger can be expressed in healthier ways. I can only imagine Asad's(or any adult man's) humiliation to have been slapped before his sister and the woman with whom he has started fall in love.

I will have to disagree, Laila. For me the characters are falling apart. I dont think it's because of pent up anger that so many characters are behaving such. It's just how indian dramas work. A slap here, camera zooming, loud makeup of vamps, throwing stuff. I hope its just a phase which I'm gonna pass by gleefully laughing and we get back to relative subtlity of a 4 lions productions. Bacause I cant identify with any of this nor am I interested in a saas bahu type serial. But I'm sure its to cater to the drama craving trp audience and we will have different flavors soon enough.

P.S. Does anybody react like this even in the most tragic/ anguished moments of our life? I dont live among people who do. But I do understand melodrama is larger than life. I just wish it was done with a lil more finesse without resorting to such gimmicks😆

Me too 😊

Melodrama does not work for me. I suppose because that just seems to be such a totally bizarre way of reacting to life! It's too unrealistic for me. And there's only just about so much of it I can deal with. Right now the show is too OTT for me and I am waiting for tis phase to pass to see if I am still interested in watching.

And melodrama cannot be done with finesse, that's the point of it.! It is gimmicky. It does not allow for subtlety or emotional intelligence.

laila. lovely post and an awesome analysis.i did not agree with your previous views abt the whole slap incident, because i felt that this is just a show and tv shows aise hi hote hain it doesnt make sense to make sense out of it if you understand what i mean.but i loved this post of yours where you have analysed them as characters with a flaw, who dont behave ideally warna conflict bhi nahi hoti aur drama bhi nahi hota.it was very nice to read your thoughts and please we do want you on this forum, warna mazaa nahi aayega.cheers!😊

hey laila,

fab post. yesterday for me was just annoying. I couldn't believe how strong characters were just being completely eviscerated by terrible characterization of anger. Dilshaad the strong, graceful, level-headed woman reacted like how a 17 year old would act in defense of her first love. Bleargh!

How did a woman who loves her children so much fail to see her son's emotional trauma? And to top it off she whacks him!

And the Razia-Rashid scene...really??? It took him 17 years to wake up to the fact that she was evil??? Was he living under a rock? And of course choking a woman in the middle of you living room is way to confront someone who has been blackmailing you...god forbid you use your brains and use the situation to your advantage. *sigh*

Honestly, after yesterday, the whole lot of them need to see an anger management counselor or better yet a therapist! (except poor Najma...)

🤣: Rashid mian is a tad slow...

Zoya is the only one who has any sense, please, being her back into focus!!! I am really curious to see how she'll react to the possibility that Rashid was responsible for her mother's death...or even that Razia was? Will she too go loco on us???
Please nahiiinnn!!!! Zoya tujhe meri kasam! 😆

As for Najma, I know right? Poor kid, caught in the cross-fire!

melodrama and OTT is the right description for this show now
i just watch on and off now with just a week now then even i will bid adieu
monday and tuesday was just OTT drama and i hate family drama
but we can t complain because that was the show designed for
either we watch it or leave it .characters were beautifully placed but its messed with its
screenplay at present.

I feel rather conflicted about the story. On the one hand the melodrama pulls me in a way that a trainwreck does - one can't look away, but I miss a nuanced storytelling. This is perhaps done to appease the TRP Gods, but why must there be constant rage, slaps, being buried alive and gunshots. Rage is fine, all of us do experience it, more so our characters in drama, since TV dramas are xtimesreallifeproblems, but I hope there will be the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel (sooner than later). I want them to go back to complex relationships, without being too shrill 😆

PS: I am afraid Shirin, Ayaan and Zoya are potential ragemakers too. I hope they stagger it, and let no more than 50% of the cast rage at any given point 😛

😆 Sooo true!!! it's a perverse attraction! You're embarrassed to look and yet you can't stop! It's almost like you're thinking, wow! how much worse can this get? And does get worse!!! and then you think, well it can't get worse than that! and it does and on and on!

Freud alert! 😆 (Attraction is the other side of repulsion or some such thing...)
