COME ON! IT'S FICTION!
If you sent a letter for ONE slap you saw in this show, why don't you object to Balika Vadhu actually showing domestic violence?
Or several other shows showing similar violence.
My brother loves action films, but that doesn't mean he transforms himslef into a kick-ass action hero after watching every film.

Nor will I turn into a mafia don after watching The Godfather(which I have seen innumerable times).

I'm still myself. Not a don..

I'm not sure if you guys have an agenda or not, and honestly, I don't care.
But what you're doing is just silly.

And one more thing I noticed, Mme Laila, that you're not being polite to people who disagree with you and your point of view.
Yeh kya baat hui madam ji?
Aap kahen to baat, hum kahen to gadhey ki laat?

Anyway, this was just my POV.
Rest assured, I'm not going to bother myself agonizing over whatever snarky replies i might get on here.. I honestly don't care..

Phew! That was long.. Sorry
:P

You don't say...thank you...I thought these characters actually existed...silly me! *rolls eyes*

If you are going to make a comment, I suggest you actually read the letter that was sent before you make a statement. No one who has been against the slap has tried to change ANYONE'S opinion we have just disagreed and heard enuff nonsense from people...so i think you need to check where the snarkiness is coming from. (Oh and before you point out that I am being snarky...damn right I am, at you)

I am not going to bother explaining the point of how an OPINION was expressed and Laila is well within her rights to express it...

Good to know you won't be agonized about any replies but apparently you were agonized enough to annoy and bait others.

I don't know which I love more...the totally illogical posts ranting about why we didn't complain about XYZ show or the passive agrressive ones that moan and groan and then insist that they don't care and will never come back on the thread...๐Ÿ˜†

Hehe...I don't know either. I love how they seem to think we are immature. Hm...they haven't been paying a lot of attention to what they have been saying, have they? It would be quite obvious who the "immature" ones are then. But i am going to thank her for bumping the post back to the first page ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Laila hasn't being rude to anyone...on the contrary we are actually extremely civil with ppl who have repeatedly insulted us. It clearly indicates from your post that you are not aware of the letter itself...I would suggest you to read the letter first and then start with all this ranting...

There is joblessness and then there is heights of joblessness... well, to each their own!!
If I were to write a letter, it will about romanticizing an adulterous, cheater husband like Rashid and calling their love as epic!!!

Well said Laila.

I wonder what they are going to show on ' Valentines' day an occasion which most Muslims do not even relate to as it is so antithetical to their culture & beliefs...and what's all these 'accidental' physical collisions between the two?

Whatever next? It's understandable if she is sick or physically hurt to attend to her for first aid or to protect her in danger, but they're surely not going to show 'love' scenes are they? How is this going to break negative Muslim stereotypes? It's more likely breaking the whole of Muslim Ethics, Culture & Faith into any cheap, style fatal attraction!

To Producers: Please give us a break! You really do not know Muslims, their beliefs, or understand their 'Culture'!

To those who took an initiative to stand up against the violence that was portrayed, I honestly, without any what so ever sarcasm intended, salute you. The effort is commendable and definitely one to be proud of as being a fellow member who visits the same website as you. I am not a regular member of this forum but that hasn't stopped me from watching the show from time to time nor from liking the main couple. I am most certainly glad to know that there women out there , whether they are teenagers or adults who feel so strongly about domestic violence or abuse in any form as I do. And to actually write a letter to BCCC ->๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘. I even spoke to several friends of mine, all who are in varying fields in university( medicine, business, pharmacy, biology, engineering) and we all are absolutely thrilled and pleaseantly shocked at the courage and dedication you all have shown. Therefore even though none of us are regulars in this particular forum, you do have our support and thanks. ๐Ÿ‘

. In the past the male lead had exhibited aggressive behaviors towards the female lead but these had been played off in comedy and no actual physical abuse had been reached until this date.

The abuse continues two days later where the male lead, in his continued fit of rage, manhandles the young female lead, pushes her up against the wall and threatens to kill her.

The tragedy is that the writers of the show never take responsibility of educating the public that these types of behaviors are wrong.

Granted Asad said "I'm sorry" but it was so matter-of-fact and without any heartfelt thought. There was no comment such as, I should never have hit you, because it was wrong.

The writers of the show plan to build a romance on these two characters. Many young girls watch this show; the very popular teenage/young adult female heartthrob, Karan Singh Grover,

It also promotes the idea to young women that they should be submissive and if a guy like Asad is aggressive then that behavior is erotic.

A great try laila here for trying..!!! to educate the masses..and producers/writers of any given show. The problem is you and the rest are making your logic here from the Western point of view. India as a growing country hasn't accepted this domestic/women pacifying torture/gender inequality yet!!
] The social acceptability of domestic violence also differs by country. While in most developed countries domestic violence is considered unacceptable by most people, in many regions of the world the views are different: according to a UNICEF survey, the percentage of women aged 15โ€“49 who think that a husband is justified in hitting or beating his wife under certain circumstances is, for example: 90% in Jordan, 85.6% in Guinea, 85.4% in Zambia, 85% in Sierra Leone, 81.2% in Laos, 81% in Ethiopia so why not accept this. These are the stats from various countries.
Domestic violence and abuse can happen to anyone,so perhaps the teens shouldn't be only addressed..but women as in general is the case scenario!!This happens...& yet the problem is often overlooked, excused, or denied. Just like this show as we read the post...it very obviously is the case. The hero hits the heroine..she accepts it..makes a joke and life goes on?!! REALLY!! But for the writers to write something as the solution..for this problematic VIOLENCE..the society especially the women have to concentrate on the issue..come out and retaliate..rather than complain about this happening on the name of entertainment.:-(..๐Ÿ˜ฒ๐Ÿ˜ฒThis is especially true when the abuse is psychological, rather than physical. Noticing and acknowledging the signs of an abusive relationship is the first steps to ending it. No one should live in fear of the person they love... So is the case of Zoya here who has accepted the abuse..and violence here.
Laila I don't watch this show so have no clue if this the intention of the writers to show the beginning of domestic violence..and the process of it and how this should have been prevented..(ALTHOUGH I BE MY LAST DOLLAR..OUR WRITERS..WON'T THINK THIS GREAT LENGTHS ON THE NAME OF ENTERTAINMENT..and educating the masses @ the same time)..But if that is the case..Salute to them..if not..India itself needs to make the help lines..guidelines..for this sort of abuse..if shown
.
