The apology with a mitwa track? What was that all about? 😕

Just because no one took a step further than that does not mean you should have kept quiet as well. After all just a spark is required to turn into a full fledged flame. I am sure you will garner more and more support and I really do hope atleast something positive does come out of it. Even if nothing happens, the intentions were sincere and right and that does command respect.

Thank you! Your post is what makes me glad I did it. I hope it encourages others to do the same. We have to speak up to expect a change.

Yes , so far I have watched only a few shows because its difficult for me to see such abuse. Ipkknd was one show that showed a ruthless man. Madhubala at the moment has its lead destroying a woman in any which way he can. Sigh!
And now to QH. I am truly sorry to say that nearly every woman there has been belittled. Zoya was buried! Humeira was nearly forced into marriage, Dilshad was thrown out by husband and his brother in law seem to think that it is his right to demean her.
So the hope of a man loving and respecting women fell on poor Asads shoulders. Yes, he was angry and frightened but we depended on him to be the sane male. With that slap , it was a very unfortunate let down. AND that is why all the hoo and hah were heard as a scream!
And thanks to this forum of educated, independant women ---who has made time to protest--we saw more regret and shame from the hero yesterday. That scene was well done and enacted well by the talented KSG.
Believe me this PH [ unfortunately headed by a female} seemed to think it was ok for a man to rough up a woman. I watched her last show with dismay. You are already seeing how she depicts lack of respect for women in this show. You do not want to see more bad boys.
As I said , TV shows goes a long way. we have too many young boys watching this and thinking that it is ok to be nasty, Worse , we have too many young girls thinking that this is what romance is about. So please, whether the letter is a pebble in the pond or a rock in the ocean , it was a deed WELL DONE

Take a bow! Truly well articulated! Loved your conclusion especially 😊 and you said it... With all the men except Asad coming across as jerks, we had great expectations of Asad.

Good analysis. 👏

Thank you so much for your support. Posts like this make it all the worth while and the reason why I am up at at 2:35 a.m. reading each one and feelings glad that it was all well worth it. Thank you again.

And yes, Asad, as grey as he was, was a hero - he was angry, he did things that were rough and unsophisticated at times but he was a real hero - he rescued Zoya many times so for us to see him this way was such a disappointment. It truly goes against everything we had expected and so not typical of his character. What is tragic is that Asad would have had displayed a far deeper remorse and regret as I saw pictured. Moreover Zoya, with her high and might speech after having been kidnapped by Aakram's men would have aid a whole lot more. The PH could have taken this and done a super track on redemption that would have allowed us ALL to move on, but they failed miserably. My hope is the PH really rethink what they have done and understand what is meant by redemption.

Perhaps in future thanks to this letter (which will be added to the others they have received) PH will think again about how to stop allowing their leading male characters to abuse the female lead. Until then, unless we speak up, nothing will change.

Thanks Nishta, join the club. We might be called a whole lot of names, but in the end it's plain and simple... we don't agree with what was done.

Thanks for entertaining me so far.
I find this whole thing extremely juvenile and silly.
COME ON! IT'S FICTION!
If you sent a letter for ONE slap you saw in this show, why don't you object to Balika Vadhu actually showing domestic violence?
Or several other shows showing similar violence.
My brother loves action films, but that doesn't mean he transforms himslef into a kick-ass action hero after watching every film.

Nor will I turn into a mafia don after watching The Godfather(which I have seen innumerable times).

I'm still myself. Not a don..

I'm not sure if you guys have an agenda or not, and honestly, I don't care.
But what you're doing is just silly.

And one more thing I noticed, Mme Laila, that you're not being polite to people who disagree with you and your point of view.
Yeh kya baat hui madam ji?
Aap kahen to baat, hum kahen to gadhey ki laat?

Anyway, this was just my POV.
Rest assured, I'm not going to bother myself agonizing over whatever snarky replies i might get on here.. I honestly don't care..

Phew! That was long.. Sorry
:P

I am afraid that your post clearly shows you have no understanding how violence towards women sends a negative message to the public. We are well aware it is a show and what this show has done.

As a matter of fact I have been more than civil to everyone who has been rude to me. I do not see any examples where I Ihave been rude to anyone. I have never named called or made any personal attacks.

It so fascinates me why so many people are upset that I sent a letter versus what we have seen on television.

And if you feel so strongly about others shows please do sent a letter...I do not watch the others shows you mention - I write about this one. We can talk ad nauseum what I didn't do rather than say thank you about what I did do. 😉
