Jeez...I have skimmed through most of it but the end result is the same:
We are on a secret agenda/mission
We should be doing something about the injustice in all the other serials/shows
We need to stop complaining/preaching
Lol am I missing anything??
Before the taunts/complains were that why are we wasting so much time and energy on a forum and not doing something to ACTUALLY bring about a change and now that Laila has made the effort (a commendable one indeed)- what we have is bunch of amateur and paranoid responses.

I simply don't believe this.
You guys went to such a huge extent over a single issue.
What about the cases of serials where women are manhandled just to show intense romance.
A woman has a right to slap a man but a man has no right to slap a woman.Who gave the right for slapping only to the females?
No violence was encouraged in the show.
It was just a scene.I can very well differentiate between the character and the actor.
It was just a scene. This is seriously incredible...
I'm sorry but no matter how much u talk about women rights and a man respecting a woman,I simply can't agree with the fact that Asad was really guilty.[/QUOTE]

Totally Agree with you dear.. It seems that Indian television shows can only show the female leads slapping the men or even women but men can't slap women as if they do so it is "VIOLENCE". I can't understand why people can't differentiating between a slap and violence. A single slap can't be considered as violence. And there are so many serials where women had been shown slapping men but no ones there to address it.

As for the matter of romanticisizing violence... first of all it was a slap not a repeated action to be called as violence.. and where the hell has this romance came in between. The PH has still not shown Asad and Zoya falling for each other. They haven't even showed them being friends... they are working together to unveil the conspiracy not because they feel for each other but because of one person they are attached the most being shot.

For the underlined portion.. I totally agree with you... everyone has their way of expressing things... and no one is perfect in this world..

I really can't get the fact that we take fictional character and a reel life scene to such an extent... its just a show watch it just for entertainment and get over it.

I wonder if a slap is called violence then every time a woman slaps a man then she should also be charged for violence.

That's exactly my point.. as defined by WHO violence is and intentional use of physical force or power against a person, a group or a community. And the slap here was not intentional it happened out of rage and when a person was emotionally weak. Its no violence, its just a slap... and people are only concerned about the women getting slapped not the men getting slapped by women.

on a personal note are you the same Asma from the DMG forum?

Laila, can we please make intelligence and merit of arguments the price of admission in this thread? I feel like I've read one single argument, twisted in a million different ways, hundred of times

Thank you K.Sean. Silence is similar to complying with what is wrong.

I cannot fathom why members are arguing against this? Please peeps, this complaint is simply trying to raise awareness that such sensitive and serious issues cannot be merely brushed off by a cup of bitter coffee. Nobody is blaming the actors so no need to defend your favourites. This letter is directed predominantly to the creatives whom are responsible for the characterization of their own fictional characters and is therefore responsible for every action depicted onscreen.

You can agree or disagree about whether Asad was wrong in slapping Zoya. That is your own opinion but it's absolutely appalling and downright scary that members are actually romanticizing the act. Who the hell witnesses a slap and thinks 'Grrr look at those biceps when he flexes'. It almost looks like you're drooling about the angle of the slap, or the fact that his fingers touched her skin. *OOH sizzling right?* = \

Next minute, I'm expecting fanatics to crawl to the television screen and sing 'Mitwaaa' in a creepy obsessed voice to make up for the lack of 'romantic background music' during the slap scene.

Thank you for such an eloquent response.

well said.quite grateful about the letter.because after all abuse of any form whether physically or mentally will always be unforgettable in a long run.there is a vast difference between fiction and reality.though qh is far from fiction ,the serial should also be sensitive about the issues they show.i know that qh is quite sensitive about these issues.but there are some things that should have been more highlighted.

Thank you. If they wanted to highlight it, it should have shown more sensitivity and used it as a means to teach and educate within the context of the story.
