Zoya definitely understands Asad's turmoil and his fear of losing his beloved Ammi. Who else will, than a motherless child!
But should this become a justification of her forgiving Asad? Should this be the justification of Asad forgiving himself, after knowing the truth? Should this be the justification used by the creator of this show, who happens to be a woman?

Since the very beginning of the show Zoya has questioned Asad's dispositions of how should women dress, how should they behave, she's a feminist, no doubts. But she has been an orphan for a longer time. She too has witnessed her mother's death.
Asad's reaction was not out of abuse towards a woman but still in a weak moment of anger and desperation he had committed a violent sin. And as many members of this forum have already mentioned in their respective posts, he won't be easily guilt free.
He shouldn't be easily guilt free!
Being a righteous man, whose life revolves around his mother and sister(also around Zoya, since the day she had came to live in his house) there is no reason why he should not realise, why he should not regret what he has done.
Given the circumstances, should a simple sorry(with a cup of coffee) be enough to console Zoya? Its not just about slap afterall, its about threatening her, blaming her. Should a simple sorry be enough? No! It should be forwarded by gentle and respectful behaviour.
Inaddition, to the truth that Zoya did follow Asad's order and sent Mariam to her other relatives' house, what must come forth Asad is that Zoya did put up a fight against the masked man who shot his mother and did not just let him escape. Would we not have a feeling of gratitude towards the person who has done something like this for our mothers or sisters? We definitely would.

Hope the misunderstandings and truths will only nuture the relationship our two (handcuffed by destiny )protagnists.
