Yes, I hope they show the festivals as well! I barely know anything about Muslim culture outside of what my friends have told me and what I read from my own research and such, so it would be great to see it shown on the serial :)

i agree...it would have been very strange of them to not have shown them praying at this time.

Indeed I always wondered how come they have forgotten that part, esp when prayer is an important part in the lives of Muslims. If I am not mistaken, namaaz should be done 5 times right or am I wrong ??

It was really nice to see that today, esp Zoya praying and even Ayaan

Yes and even among modern/liberal Muslims namaz is still part of their lives - they might go the mosque on Friday - or even offer random prayers.

Exactly...I think the main reason most people including myself were attracted to this show was because it was based on a Muslim background and it was promoted highly that way too but all we see is just characters repeating the same urdu words over and over again to make it look 'Muslim' ...So much goes into being a Muslim and our traditions then just saying Salaam...which btw they don't even pronounce correctly. Hoping they start bringing out the positives in Islam instead of making them look negative which they have been portraying since day one.

And I'm guessing the only occasion of Muslims they will ever mention and celebrate is Eid. Which will be just shown as them dressed up and nothing more. When in fact there is so much more to it especially Ramazan. the month means everything to Muslims ...so I really hope they show all this and not just keep going with the stereotypical stance that women are always subjected to inequality. Because that's not what 'Islam' or 'Muslims' are ONLY about.

It's interesting to me too, since Gul Khan is Muslim herself- I really hope they bring in more traditions, like you all are mentioning! There's no reason not to; it will enrich the storyline even further, I think.
