Adeeti, thank you for your stand here. I am relieved to learn that someone whose writings and voice i have respected takes this stand. My sister was so disappointed. She had this look of "this is such a let down, why did they do this?" when she saw the scene. Having been in an abusive relationship herself where she was not even slapped, she sat there and said, so many young girls are going to learn this is OK and expected and they won't even know this is NOT ok - a guy should not be treating a woman this way not even under any circumstance.

What was worse, this slap had a lot of force behind it.

I cannot respect a man who raises his hand at woman.

I know I'm the minority here and what really upsets me is that women out here and that too the majority are trying to make light of thsi situation and are looking at it from humorous angles,to passionate angles and God knows whatever else angles there possibly are.Some are saying Zoya deserved it for trying to console him at the wrong time and it's all her fault for putting everones life in danger by giving Maryam shelter and blah blah blah and justification is coming from every corner possible.Frankly I am appalled at this feeble attempt of justification as it is not humanely right in anyway.If one was to go through domestic violence or volence of any form than would they still be trying to shed the light of justification?You are very right in saying that we are the minority here as majority of popular member's have not taken a stand thus to be deemed cool or feel acceptance by the so called cool gang but I am one who if the need to to satnd and speak out for justice is required then I will do so without hesitation reagrdless of the fact on whetehr I get accpeted by the majority on this forum.Just because I do like the characetyr of Asa I cannot be biased and go against what I believe to be wrong!

Shaz, you are more than welcome. I am glad I am not alone here either and want to lend my support to the minority here who are in the right. It amazes me that some would even say she deserved it. Slapping her was completely unjustified. He could be angry at her, lash out of her, but to slap her? That was uncalled for and too much.

Proud that you had the courage to take a stand. You have my full support.

wow...this forum kinda is looking like ipkknd forum today BASHING GUL for NO REASON...first of all rnt we the same people who shout n say WE WANT EQUALITY of GENDER...we watch HEROINE SLAPPING HERO zillions of times in movies n films and give WAH WAH to the heroine irrespectv of the fact whethr it was justified or not...even if the Hero is not at fault his getting slap frm the heroine is always applauded...SO WHY GENDER DISCRIMINATION HERE...Asad didnt Slap Zoya the way the women gets slappd by their hubbies for not cooking well or othr petty reason...ASAD SLAPPED THE PERSON WHO IS RESPONsIBLE FOR HIS MOTHERS CRITICAL CONDITION...the MOM who Means the WORLD to him...plus it wasnt as if he slappd zoya out of nowhere...HE COMPLETELY IGNORED HER...it was Zoya who came to him in the MOST WRONG TIME possible...she shud hv given him space...coz the Last pperson Asad wanted to talk to was Zoya and its very Much UNDERSTANDABLE...if i was In ASADS place i Wud hv Slapped Zoya EQUALLY HARD...coz this time the situation was Beyond GENDER...ASAD DiDNT SLAP A GAL coz when people r BLINDED BY PAIN n HATRED...GENDER REALLY DOESNT MATTER...if it was ZOYA in Asads place 2day and Slappd asad Really Hard then i m sure the forum wud hv been flooded with POSTS HOW AWESUMm the SLAP WAS and people wud hv tken GUL to the 9th sky...SO WHY SUCH DISCRIMINATION WHEN GENDER IS REVERSED...BEING women who Demand Equality in the society and are taught to b strong enuf to slap a man if he is guilty...then...the same WOMAN shud b Equally Strong Enuf to RECEIVE A SLAP frm a Man when she Herself is GUILTY...not jus cryy over it naming it so called Domestic Violence...EQUALITY OF GENDER shud B from both sides
