nah, that's only for the ceremony.. though some ladies do wear the yellow rope always.. most of us change it to a gold chain..

a representation of lottle modernity by conveying no mangal sutra even sheels also doesnt wear mangal sutra. Plus in real if look around married woman hardly wearing mangalsutra..

depends where you are from though.. Maharashtrians, South Indians almost always wear a mangalsutra

agree...it depends..But nowadays n Kerala also not every1 s wearing Mangalsutra...especially working young women...

My sis-in-law never wear Mangalsutra..But I wear...it depends n individual

In some parts of Northern India India, sindoor and kangan are the only signs of marriage.
In some others sindoor, kangan and toe rings are signs of marriage, south Indians may not have the black beads mangal sutra but have a "Thali" that they wear.
