Nakuul Mehta with wife Jankee
Not many people know that actor Nakuul Mehta of Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara is a married man. He married his girlfriend of several years.
"Jankee is the first girl I dated," he says. Nakuul took the plunge into matrimony about seven months back, just before the shoot for his show began. So, did he hide his marriage for the sake of his career? "No, nothing like that. My wife is a musician, who is doing pretty well in her field. She has her own band. I didn't want the focus to be shifted from my career by announcing my marriage," defends Nakuul. He adds, "People never ask me whether I am married, as I look very young. They used to ask me if I was in a relationship and I would say 'Yes'. People just assumed that I was single. It didn't occur to anybody that I was married," laughs Nakuul, who hails from the royal family of Mewar. In the show, he plays an introvert, who doesn't believe in relationships. But in real life, Nakuul is voluble and a die-hard romantic.
