Chapter 30 - Nightmare
Piya felt nothing. Absolutely nothing. And it was weird. Abnormal in a way she herself didn't understand.
Her hands were tied to a pole, behind her back. Her movements were restricted tightly and securely while the fierce fire laughed around her, billowing out smoke and licking the walls. The heat was coming closer with every passing second and the smoke was strangling her breath, choking her lungs.
It was a hell on earth but she felt nothing. No fear and no anxiety. As strange as it was, she was standing blank. Like held in a trance by some skilled magician.
Boggled was her first and last reaction when she had founded herself surrounded by cloaked weirdos and the dangerous wolves that seemed more train, much more like devilish humans on their paws.
They were unknown people and monsters. She had absolutely nothing to do with them and didn't even know why they wanted her dead. Their cold words had made no sense to her. The fight and flight system of her body had understood there was no chance of fight and flight so maybe her mind had went into recession.
Or maybe the feelings were too jumbled that she had no idea how to react to such surreal situation that seemed more a nightmare than real.
She leaned her head on pillar and watched the wrecked ceiling, waiting for death to take away her life and finish the misery once and for all.
Fire felt closer to her and she coughed feeling her breathing more strained than before. This was it. She was going to die.
After everything that happened to her. The betrayal to her mother and her death. Fate bringing her face to face with Dobriyal and Kabir attempts to destroy her. All of the fate plans to kill her in agony but here she was about to die in the stillness of forest, in an abandoned and ruined room, amid the attacks ballet of fire.
A smile graced her still lips. It wouldn't take long.
"Piya."
It was the voice of the man who helped her from the time she attracted so many attention, she never wished.
Jolting out of the numbness and letting her bottled thoughts scatter in her mind, Piya turned her gaze to the door, right in front of her at distance.
The reality and thoughts washed over her brain, leaving her shock at the absurdity of her reaction.
Panic seized her body as she took in the sight of crumbling room covered in fire while Abhay painful voice rang out.
The death was just some inches away from her and she wasn't ready to embrace it. She wriggled her hands, trying to break free through the ropes but the knots were tight.
Her lungs were being filled with smoke and oxygen was depleting away. Losing herself to numbness was her worst mistake and she wasn't ready to pay the price.
Anxiety struck her even more, letting her heart race in panic, as she realized Abhay wasn't calling her anymore. Coughing to gain some oxygen, she prayed for his wellbeing.
The strange person had took her out of the terrace from his house with so much skills that she herself wasn't aware when she was at his home and when in the middle of blazing fire. Shocked or not, she should've paid attention and checked for Abhay.
For all she knew, those people could be his enemy and Abhay in danger. But she didn't even care to think about him when he made sure to be beside her in every situation.
Since when did she become so emotionless?
Piya struggled to free herself. She wanted to leave this damn place and ran to Abhay. Feel the warmth of his arms engulfing her protectively.
Tears welled up in her eyes as her lungs filled with acrid smoke and she struggled to breath. Coughing continuously, Piya struggled to free herself.
"Piya," his shocked voice came in whisper yet closer.
Halting her futile attempts, she raised her head to catch his eyes with a shock lingering in those grey orbs.
"Abhay," Piya breathed, looking at the boy who came to save her once again.
Even from the distance and from the swirling smoke, she could see the paleness of his skin. His hair messed up and a bit of blood and debris gracing his handsome face. He was clutching his stomach and it was terrifying for Piya to think that Abhay might be injured.
"I'll save you, Piya. I- I'll save you." She heard him mumbling as he assessed the situation and counted the odds that weren't in their favour.
Fire was licking every part of the wide room that seemed more like a sanctuary from old time. The scattered parts of room were consumed in fire and only the pillar stood in center, holding her for her death.
The helplessness on Abhay face was clear indication for her that she had to die. He looked at her and she gave a weak smile so he would let her go. Instead a determination shone through his eyes and she thought she saw a flash of blue in the grayness.
Maybe she was hallucinating before her ultimate demise.
He stepped in the ring of inferno and Piya clutched her hands in fear. He shouldn't do that for her. She had no hope left. He would kill himself and she didn't want that fate for him.
"Abhay, sto--" her voice died and her eyes grew wide. Coldness seep inside her skin despite the hear of raging fire.
Abhay was inside the room walking with confidence. Fire trailed him. The flames coddled him without burning his skin. The smoke twisted around him.
As if Abhay belonged to the fire and fire belonged to him.
This can't be, Piya shook her head. She must be hallucinating. It was an illusion of smoke and nothing else. It can't be true, damn it.
The fire swished into corner, clearing a path of embers and ashes for Abhay. He walked in glory for her, stood behind him and untied her hands. Her eyes never wavered from his blue eyes that seemed so unreal.
Forgot to breath, she was taken in his arms and her hands failed to circle around his neck. She feared to touch him and she feared the blueness of his once gray eyes.
So close to him, she realized the paleness of his face and coldness of his body. The changed eyes and battered face, telling an ancient tale that she failed to grasp.
Everything of him screamed not right and nothing cried normal.
The fresh air of forest fanned her face but she couldn't feel normal. Her heart was too low on its beating and her lungs were stuffed with smoke and shock.
Feeling suffocated and out of place, she flinched feeling the ground under her feet. Moving her eyes from his face to behind him, she found the fire died out and smoke sleeping in silence.
"Piya..." It was the same voice that provided her comfort from a boy she knew so well but knew nothing about.
Piya took a staggering step backward. The blue eyes were gone but engraved in her mind.
He wasn't Abhay. He couldn't be Abhay.
Shaking her head in disbelief and avoiding looking at the face, she no more recognised, Piya did what come to her mind first. She ran. Ran away from the monster who stood instead of Abhay.
She witnessed so much that she always thought nothing could rattle her anymore but the fate always kept on throwing more, testing her patience and playing with her fragile heart. Running over the tough terrain, across the trees and cold wind, Piya felt the gears of her mind starting, slowly and carefully. Her heart pounded in her chest and her breathing were strained but she kept on running blindly as tears gathered in her eyes.
Abhay. The boy who did so much for her. The boy she knew had icy grey eyes with a depth she yearned to drown in. Sure enough she did not recognise those blue eyes and the flickering play of fire.
She always knew he was different but what she saw tonight was beyond the realm of this world.
Leaving and running away were easiest. Abhay could've done that to her too. But he had held her broken form, listened to everything she had to say, relieved her from the burden she was holding from too long and too much, protected her from the monsters that lived in humans and showed her the way to be better in the life.
He did that and he did so much more to make her understand life in a way she herself didn't understand yet.
Abhay was there. Arrogant as he was, but he was there. With a heart that she herself had claimed to be of golden.
Then what went wrong?
An event that her mind wasn't ready to accept? Something extraordinary in the nature of universe?
Holding the tree, Piya gasped for breath as as she stopped her mindless run. Her breath came quicker and shorter but her mind was quick in its scolding.
This was wrong. Wrong to leave the boy who did so much for her that she would willingly act to lose the count.
She left Abhay, who never left her, without any word and without any explanation. She left him without listening to what he had to say. She left without considering the truth of situation.
She should develop better understanding habits for such crucial situation.
She could already feel the moonlight even when there was no moon and trees were gathered to form a dark roof over her.
Turning on her heels, Piya retraced her steps back to the only boy who ever located her pain beyond the smiles she wore as mask. Even if he was a monster from the otherworld or even if he wanted her life, she was willing to stand by him and offer her life without second thought.
Piya was surprised by her own thoughts but she realised he had taken a place in her heart after everything he did for her. Support was all she needed and support was all he gave her. There was no walking away from Abhay.
Stumbling and staggering, but persistent Piya rushed where she left him. Emerging from the horde of trees, she stopped by a tree panting.
In the porch of the burned sanctuary, he sat on his knees right where she left him. The sky above him was as dark as the forest itself and his right hand, resting on his stomach was smeared with dark blood. The anguish etched on his face took away her breath.
"Abhay." whisper broke the deadly silence of night.
His eyes turned to her and he shook his head. Not understanding anything and unable to withstand the sight, she dropped beside him to check on the injury that was causing him so much of agony.
Abhay closed his eyes and his shoulders dropped in defeat, confusing Piya by his reaction. She tried to see his wound that seemed anything but normal but Abhay hand covering it out of her sight.
"All the hard work to save her in waste. This is what happens when you try to save the stupid humans always eager to die for their curiosity."
Piya trembled at the bone chilling voice that she had heard sometimes back. Eyes widened in disbelief, her hands froze and she raised her head slowly.
Among the darkness, the figures in robes were blending too well for her to notice. Just a pale face, who had tried to kill her, was visible among the hoods surrounding him. The eyes glittered somewhere around and Piya squinted her eyes to perceive.
Like a cunning humans, trained to hunt, more than ten wolves covered the other corner. A lump of fear formed in her throat as she looked in the eyes that seemed to be assessing her with a calculative gaze that of human. Definitely more monstrous than humans.
"Stay away," said Piya in shaky voice. Her eyes glided to every hood, stopping on the pale face that seemed a dead human walking.
"Staying away is tricky when prey is an enemy and human," said the strange man and widened his lips into scary smile. Lengthened canines added to the evilness of smile.
Piya drew a sharp breath noticing his red eyes for the first time. Fear crawled on her skin and she squirmed in terror. If she had any doubt, these creatures were devil in human disguise then she was sure now that they were not. They were the stuff right out of the books human read and the series they loved.
Not human. Not real.
It felt a nightmare that was more vivid, more real and with more emotions.
"Vampires," Piya whispered in a shaky voice as she felt Abhay hands pulling her behind him.
"She knows us, surprise," there were teeters and Piya shivered with her widened eyes still stopped at the dead face.
Piya was surprised herself. There should have been denial from her side. She should have marked them as fiction or illusion or anything for her rational mind. But she didn't.
It was as if she knew that these creatures exist but never tried to think and now when they stood in front of her, she knew it was real. She could feel the reality of this nightmare and somehow she felt she knew why those wolves seemed to have human traits.
"This is between us," said Abhay standing up and shielding Piya. "Keep her out of it."
Clutching his shoulders, Piya felt the terror in the amused expressions of the vampire that stood without his hood unlike others.
"Rules has nothing to do with us," Said the vampire with an evil smirk.
"You'll regret even touching her. Stay away," said Abhay pointing a finger at the vampire.
From close, Piya noticed the way blue sparked in his eyes and spread rapidly dominating the grayness.
"Not your slave," the vampire hissed.
There was certain malevolence in the voice and Piya trembled, hiding herself behind Abhay. Somehow, Piya knew the battle was about to start, pushing her under the heap of fear. She buried her face in his shoulder not wanting to witness anything and hoping this reality would end with her closed eyes just like nightmare ends with open eyes.
Coldness spread in intensity. Fog hugged her in a soothing comfort but the fear wasn't ready to leave her. Somewhere at distant, she heard the hissing of wind that felt to be coming closer with every second.
Would they make out alive from here? What would happen tonight?
The night felt cruel.
Feeling the wind ruffling her hair, Piya raised her head and opened her eyes. Abhay was shielding her, with his right hand still around his stomach, and left hand held out with his palm open and directed towards the vampires.
What was Abhay doing?
Trembling, Piya looked ahead and immediately gasped. The wind and fog were blinding the enemies and pushing them backwards. Their steps staggering and some of them knocking each other down. Her eyes trailed back to Abhay and extended hand with wide eyes.
Wind was hissing now and fog had thickened into a glittering wall. And Abhay seemed to be the one controlling both.
But how was it possible? Was she sure that she was not sleeping?
Piya tried to make sense. She tried to recognise the boy helping her. But beyond the exterior personality, she could not recognise him and his blue eyes.
Whether the surprises were ever going to end tonight, Piya was not sure and right on the cue she heard heavy footsteps.
Tearing her eyes away from the morbid sight, Piya checked on her left. Hundred of people were marching towards them and Chand was leading them from the front with Haseena by his side.
A pit formed in her stomach. Her mind whirled with questions as she found herself between a war that she never knew existed.
In a blink, Piya found Haseena by her side. Abhay dropped his hand and all the chaos of wind and fog ceased to exist. Pulling her quicker than she could comprehend, he leaned on the nearest tree with his eyes shut close and weariness lining him.
She didn't miss the slight wince that escaped his lips in a mere whisper and that she would have not listened, if not so closer to him. His face was paler than before and he seemed to age hundred years in that one moment.
"Abhay," Haseena called holding him from shoulder.
"A-am fine," Abhay whispered but Piya did not fail to notice the clenched teeth.
He was anything but fine and she had no idea what help she could offer.
Beyond them fight was raging. Wolves and vampires were fighting the people that were not humans for sure. It was a bloody sight of animals fight but in human form, where teeths and hands were more powerful than the fists and punches, swiftness matter more than defence, and bodies did not lie but evaporate in thin air.
Definitely not human.
Clenching her hands, Piya resisted to tremble.
"Pr-protect her," said Abhay.
Confused Piya looked at him. He was looking at Haseena and Haseena looked at her. The understanding passed between the two and Piya got the whiff too.
Opening her mouth, she was ready to object. Leaving the boy who always helped her, was not what Piya would appreciate. But she strangled her own objection realising she got nothing to offer Abhay. She was more of a trouble than a help. In a world of inhumans, she stood no chance.
"He'll be fine," Haseena said in a soothing voice and tugging her hand.
Regret and helplessness were not friendliest emotions but Piya had to welcome them grudgingly. She gave a nod to Haseena while glancing the Abhay fighting with himself.

Chapter 31 - Cloaks and Fog
At every step ahead, she would turn her head to look at him. The worry in her eyes was easy to read and her actions were the proof that she cared for him despite the realities she confronted.
Too pure to hate someone. Even if that person is beast.
Back there, he had lost all hopes. When her eyes had refused to look at him and her steps had ran away from him, he had thought he lost something precious. Like a part of his darkness had deepened somewhere, if that was possible.
The result was his strengths and healing powers had started to decline, Vampires hit back at him benefiting from his weakness. The more under the pressure of emotions, the more their powers would betray.
Being careful and being controlled was the trick to enhance their powers. But easier said than done.
Piya vanished from his sight as his mother's worked on creating the illusion of mist to keep them out of the sight of their enemies, until they would reach the safe territory of their world. But that left him unprotected and vulnerable to attacks. His enemies wouldn't miss the chance to attack him either. A most valuable target of his enemies that too with his powers scattered.
Closing his eyes, Abhay took controlled breaths, calmed his nerves and let his body gain back the powers before any of his enemy could notice and attack. Using nature was not their solution to a battle. It was more weakness than a strength. It would just distract their enemy for time being, until they could get help. And when the help would arrive, they would fall more powerless than necessary.
And he twice used the natural powers, the three of them. Fire was not much problem. But using fog and wind, his personal rare strengths, that too in abundance and for longer time, took away most of his energy, leaving him weak and on the courtesy of the fate.
And fate never worked in his favour.
Calm, he told himself focusing and faltering in gaining back his strength.
A presence linger beside him and a nasty smell filled his nostrils. Clutching the tree, he tried not to panic and kept on holding his focus. It was closer and Abhay realised he had to run.
A snap and sickening crunch of skull echoed in his ears with intensity and Abhay half opened his eyes in reflex, startled by the voice. Comforting himself, Abhay held back his focus and a surge of energy rushed in his body and coursed in his veins.
His body started to heal the wound and Abhay opened his eyes having no wish to waste any more second than he already had. The sight of a dead werewolf having smashed head welcomed Abhay.
A blur was caught by the periphery of his eyes and acting on instinct, Abhay ducked, a wolf jumped and missed Abhay, fell to the side. Without taking in the sight, Abhay jumped over the animal and not giving it a moment snapped away its head. Human body of a woman formed and Abhay turned to look at a member of his clan poised at little distance from Abhay.
The little aged man with a bald head gave Abhay a nod and Abhay nodded back not needing the protection anymore. The man walked in the battle and Abhay stood up, his grey eyes assessing the situation and his mind forming the plan.
Chand was quicker in snapping the necks. Others were taking some time, even using nature for help, but they all knew their positions. It was kill or get killed. Half of the vampires were down. Six of his people lay dead: two women, three men and a girl. There was a damage but it wasn't too bad. They could win the fight in a second except that the werewolves were in their disadvantage.
The animals were sharp and for the first time in history, Abhay noticed, they were transforming back and to. Quickly and sharply, distracting his clan for a moment and taking it an advantage to attack.
It seemed the unknown enemy worked harder to eradicate Abhay from the face of earth for eternity.
Too bad, Abhay was not planning to die anymore.
Rounding the trees, Abhay walked stealthily. The movement increased the pain in his stomach and slowed the healing. Trying to keep his focus intact on the target, Abhay stopped near tree, took a controlled breath and walked ahead.
Jumping over a vampire, he hit on the neck and killed the vampire in an instant.
A bad move to hurt Piya, they deserve to die.
Moving around, Abhay launched himself on another vampire. The vampire squirmed in his grip but Abhay pulled out a wood and stabbed in its dead heart. The vampire writhed and then went limp. His cloak remained behind.
Taking cautious breaths, Abhay positioned himself to launch himself on his target. The wind around him grew thick and fog started to wrap him softly. Welcoming the feeling, he tried to attack the leader of werewolf.
A whimper escaped his mouth and Abhay crunched himself in pain. Squeezing his eyes, he turned his head. The leader of werewolf growled at him, a flesh of skin clutched in his teeths as a little trophy. From the torn pants, blood and mass spluttered on the thigh of Abhay. It seemed Abhay was a second late in killing the beast.
A second that could cost Abhay, his life now.
The wolf attacked, Abhay dropped himself and slipped below the animal. His good leg made a contact with the face of wolf. The wolf growled and turned around, in the slow speed and heavy body movement. Swiftly, Abhay jumped over the wolf and tackled the animal below him. Abhay pulled the silver chain from his pocket and tied it around the wolf neck. The animal growled in pain while Abhay put pressure.
Abhay gasped as his injured leg hit the ground with force. The wolf below him had transformed into human throwing Abhay off balance. Pushing away the chain around Abhay neck, the wolf returned and tackled Abhay to ground.
The pain in his stomach seared as the animal pawed on the wound, the injured thigh didn't help either and the pressure of silver on his neck brought the black spots in his vision. The power receded from his body.
The pain of struggle was excruciating, Abhay closed his eyes and let his body go slack. The defeat did not matter when not alive to know.
Except Abhay wanted to live.
Live again for someone alive.
When you think you won't survive the attack, just remember that your death has to be avenged by you. His late father words resonated after centuries. The strength in them same as the first time he was teaching Abhay ways and techniques to fight in battle.
Abhay tried to listen more of those words, digging the memories and searching the advices. His lungs were starving for oxygen now and his brain was shutting down but Abhay strived and struggled to live. Darkness still consumed his conscious and his eyes shut.
Don't give up, Abhay, c'mon Abhay you can't let your enemy win. Chand faint voice overpowered his late father's words. The pain in them was clear and Abhay realized that Chand was trying to communicate with him which meant Chand was struggling between emotions and battle. A rare sign of bad luck that they were losing.
It wasn't the time to give up. Fight and victory was meant to be written for him.
Abhay struggled, his hands flailed around him before pinned down. His eyes half opened to look at the bloodied face of Chand still fighting at distance. His breaths came irregular and wrong. His hands were not obeying him and he couldn't even feel his legs.
Chand was fighting at distance. His gaze would always follow Abhay but the enemies wouldn't allow him near. Am going to get him killed. His clan was fighting and failing miserably. Get them all killed.
Abhayendra you have to become a brave king, my son. Not just the king of our legacy but a king who'll overrule death. A soft voice of his late mother cascaded his mind and heart.
It calmed Abhay and he stopped his efforts to move, lay still, gaining his strength slowly while death awaited for his last breath to be spent.
When there's no way, you have to make the way. Act like you give up but keep your mind focus. Their victory smile should become the reason of their death. His late father voice came again, guiding him in the empty battlefield when when he barely knew the name of battle. It was guiding him now. In the darkness of experienced battles.
Abhay closed his eyes. Resistance ended within him. His body stopped functioning and he let his power took over his body and senses. Everything stopped existing. The pain and the voices. The silence welcomed him darkly.
Dying is part of cycle. To live again, kill everything within.
Kill yourself altogether.
Fog started to emit from Abhay body, twisting and spreading over him as shroud. A snicker echoed and chaos effused but Abhay laid as still as night.
"You can't kill our, Rey," Rohit screamed, running to Abhay and pushing away the leader of werewolf.
The leader laughed and snickered. Rohit stood with anger on his young face and fire in his dark eyes.
"What is left to kill?" The leader savoured the words and pain.
"The war hasn't even started." Rohit took a step forward with threat clear in his eyes.
"And you're already eliminated from it." Amusement danced on the leader face.
"Your Rey lay dead and you're nothing without him. Now decide whether you want to accept your defeat or you want to go death way?"
"Sure of ourselves, are we?"
Eyes widened, leader stood stumped at the voice. Murmurs and curses spread in air.
"Their leader is still alive, if you haven't forgotten which is a fatal mistake and as far am concerned then they're much powerful with or without me." Abhay said standing closely behind him. A wooden stick gripped in his hands and its pointy end, denting on the bare skin of the leader.
"Lot of mistakes and death the only punishment."
"Is it surprise and fear am seeing?" Abhay played speaking closer to his ears. "Forest isn't a best place to fight the tricks, is it?"
"Y...you were dead," The leader stuttered without moving. The sweat forming on his face in the chill of winter night. His head tilted slightly to see the glimpse of dangerous figure standing behind him.
"Yeah and now you're," Abhay said and thrusted the stick in his body with a quick jerk. The stick slid inside the leader, tearing his heart and getting out from the abdomen.
"You involved her and it isn't a mistake I forgive," Abhay whispered in his ears before letting go his naked body, hitting the ground. The leader was dead.
The fire surrounding her and the fear so raw in her eyes. The tremor in her aura and the paleness on her face. Her hands had held him with a grip and her mouth had not found the strength to speak. Just because of these pathetic losers. Better dead.
Abhay raised his head, observing the situation and planning his next victim. His people had start to fight again with new fervour and his enemies were fighting with all new rage.
Giving a last glance to dead leader, Abhay moved around the trees, keeping his movements like before. His body was draining but he did not stop. Limp pronounced in his gait but determination oozing.
Passing the second tree, Abhay limped to the third and stopped behind it. Took a careful breath and spun around in flash.
A punch threw the leader of vampires staggering. A vampire came from behind Abhay while the hissing leader came forward with his fangs out. Abhay stabbed the vampire and as the leader reached for his neck, Abhay whirled behind him in a second and held his hands from behind while stabbing him on the shoulder.
The leader cried out, dropped on one knee and attacked Abhay on his injured thigh. Gritting his teeth, Abhay tackled him to the ground and placed the sharp tip of Coral Wood on his neck.
"Your new owner, who's it?" Abhay hissed, struggling to held him on place as he squirmed below him.
"The one who will haunt your dreams by killing your sweetheart." He chuckled.
Sly as always.
Curling his lips in disdain, Abhay poked the tip in his neck and added a little pressure. The leader eyes widened.
"Disobey and you die." Abhay threatened, handling vampires was not difficult for Abhay. He knew by experience.
"Y-you won't." He said, fear crawled on his face.
"You wish." Abhay said creating a small puncture in his neck, making him aware how firm he was on his decision.
"S-stop," he cried "I-I'll tell."
Bloody coward, who could give up any secret for their slimy lives.
Abhay eased a bit without leaving him.
"Bark."
"He operates from shadows. I know nothing."
Frustrated, Abhay puts the pressure without warning this time.
"H-he know you. Some old enmity. Personal."
"Name." Abhay demanded.
"Unknown."
"Tell me everything, parasite," Abhay said putting pressure.
The black blood seeped a bit more and the leader hissed in pain.
"He got some weird powers. Manipulating everyone with their weakness. He calls himself S-" his voice stopped as a stack went through his head, finishing his petty life.
Shocked by the sudden attack and despaired on losing such golden opportunity, Abhay raised his head to look at the attacker. There stood a werewolf with anger over his face.
Wolves were too faithful to let anyone betray them even if that meant death. That was why Abhay had chose Vampire leader to get the truth but alas.
The werewolf turned back into wolf and made a run.
Abhay stood up and ran behind him, ignoring the pain in his limping leg. Flashing away the distance, Abhay held the wolf with chains. It transformed. Prepared for the trick, this time, Abhay jumped back on time and the werewolf fell on the ground unable to balance himself. Abhay stabbed the wood in his heart not wasting a second.
"Interfering isn't nicest job," Abhay said looking at his withing form.
"He'll kill your pathetic life."
Saying the words, the werewolf died.
Abhay ran his fingers in his hair feeling miserable at the way things went. The cloaks lay around him with werewolves body melting into dust.
This was the biggest fight and they had won it. But it gave no happiness since their real enemy was still hidden and only pawns lost their lives.
Chand came and stood beside him. His clan stood behind him as their enemies turned into dusts.
Calmness was floating in the air but the wind was disturbed.
"At mansion," Abhay ordered and limped forward.
"Let me help you," Chand said coming forward.
"What a proud win, if I have to go back on leader shoulders," Abhay said turning his head to Chand and gave a meaningful glance.
Chand gave a smile and walked by his side while their clan followed. Wounds of battle were their honour. A trophy that shouldn't be mourned over.
"There is a possibility you would never heal from some of these," Chand said quietly, pointing at the worst injuries Abhay sustained.
"Coming back from death heals every wound, Dad. Even the oldest scars," Abhay said. A lively look in his eyes and face showed he was born again.
"What really you did there, Abhay?"
"Played the most terrified trick." Abhay smiled. "Power over body. Being half dead isn't that bad when you have to kill yourself. Helps even more when you get fog under your control."
