" Who have u been out with Abhay?"
Abhay tried not to fidget nervously , it shouldn't be hard for him really . He was a vampire after all , but when he saw his father glaring at him . Yeah , he was pretty nervous .
" No one dad , I was just out acting human "
" U r lying "
" No , I am not "
Abhay saw Chand , his father stepping closer to him . His eyes glowering blue trying to intimidate him . But Abhay had the advantage of being taller and he won't give up that quick . Even if he had to lie for the rest of his dead life to his creator or father .
" I know u too well Abhay , I created u. I really don't like lies in my family "Chand seethed
" And I am not lying , I thought u wanted me to socialise and try being human . Why don't u trust me ? " Abhay spoke .
" Oh Ofcourse we trust Abhay , u r my son , how could we doubt u . Now Chand Lay off ! Abhay is speaking the truth !"
Abhay had to pat himself on the back, he knew playing the trust card would melt his mother's heart. And it did , Haseena was trying to pacify Chand while Chand still glared at Abhay . But Abhay knew Chand won't speak more because of Haseena. Atleast for now .
Not that he liked taking advantage of his moms kindness , the opposite actually . He loved his mother but he really needed time right now.
" It's alright Abhay , u can go out . And it's excellent that u r trying to be human ." Haseena said touching his shoulder .
Abhay smiled back , his poor young vampire mother , she loved him too much . And he loved her too . That's why he liked being in this coven , they had feelings .
" Thanks mom "he said .
With that Abhay went out to meet his secret visitor , the problem that Chand was searching for .

" U took an awful lot of time to come, I thought u were going to ditch me "
There stood Pia , his girlfriend . Yes , his girlfriend . Vampires can have feelings too alright ! Ofcourse they preached they didn't , but why would they have mates if they didn't . Abhay knew though Chand preached against having 'emotions like humans' but he knew his dad wouldn't survive a century without Haseena .
And so Abhay too had feelings , except feelings for a human . And the human didn't know he was a vampire. Yeah , this was a tough not to crack .
" Sorry , family matters " he said
" Ugh , I wish u could just let me meet them so they don't get so suspicious all the time "
" No !! " Abhay said , ok , maybe he kind of yelled . But the prospect of Pia meeting his family really had him in worries .
" Woah there , over reaction much Abhay . Am I that bad ? " she said fidgeting .
"Ofcourse not , it's just .. My family is kind of weird ."
" Everyone has a weird family "she argued
"No , not that way .. My family , err , they .. They would just suggest us to get married . They r very traditional , and u don't really want to get married at 19 do u ?"
That shut Pia pretty much , and she looked horrified . Abhay had inwardly chuckled , he just knew how to play the right cards . The most frightening thing to a modern independent 21st century female is just one thing - Marriage . Abhay saw Pia getting more paler , he was kind of worried now . Was the idea of marrying him so repulsive ?
It was pretty easy for Abhay to read Pia's emotions , she was quite different from other humans . She was quite pale for one , and when he meant pale , he meant pale . She almost looked ghostly white in the night . She loved dark colours clothes much like him . Most of the college kids called them the ' Halloween couple ' but he didn't mind that . He liked that , in fact loved it . Maybe that's why he liked Pia so much , she resembled a vampire too easily . She was pretty stony too like him . And for some reason Abhay could never , like never , get attracted to Pia that way to suck her blood out .
It was a relief actually , he didn't want to kill the girl he loved .
" What ? I thought u wanted to meet my parents " he taunted
" Well ok no .. Not right now . Maybe for a long time no "
Abhay smiled ," Alright , so where do u want to go ? Out to dinner ?"
Pia was back to herself then " No , let's go out to movies . That Halloween flick they have this week on "
Abhay really found it weird that he never saw his girlfriend ever eat anything , it was a rare sight . And she never went out to dinners with him . Sure , it was probably good for Abhay because he would have to then reveal why he never ate , but seriously he didn't like Pia being so diet conscious .
" Pia?"
" Hmm"
" Why don't u ever eat outside ? "
Pia rolled her eyes " Because I already told u -"
" U have a specific diet " Abhay completed " But u r already thin , I don't want u to be too thin"
" Awww, Abhay that's so cute , but it's allergies . Outside food just doesn't suit me . " Pia said kissing Abhay's cheek while Abhay drove his car .
Abhay could have sworn he used the same technique when a human asked him why he didn't eat food . This was getting creepy .
Was Pia really human ?
He wiped the stupid thought away when he saw Pia blabbering about some silly stuff in college . Typical teenage stuff , how could he even assume Pia to be a vampire . Yeah , in his wishes . Plus she didn't have the vampire scent or a werewolf scent if he got into supernatural specifics . And she sure didn't posses the witch characteristics .
" Abhay u r zoning me out again !"
" I am not ! I was listening to u , besides u look too beautiful tonight . And I really don't want to be distracted while I am driving ."He said.
Pia smiled brightly , she never blushed Abhay noted ." I am glad u liked the efforts I put in for u . "
" U don't have too , I already like u the way u are "
" Thank u for ur compliments Abhay , but no u aren't allowed to zone out"
Abhay was caught , and he was always caught red handed by Pia . She knew him too well . Well Ofcourse except the fact that he was a vampire , but that could wait .
And he quit thinking about his girlfriend as a supernatural. , she was as human as that dummy Angad. And just because she was pale , liked black clothes ,liked weird jewellery like the skull earrings she wore now or never ate anything .And never smelled like a human . That didn't make her a supernatural . She was perfect and Abhay loved her.
But he could have never anticipated that he would be proved wrong .

The movie ended with Abhay hating it, but Pia on the other hand looked just as excited as ever . Abhay once again noted that Pia hadn't touched popcorn or coke or nachos , even though he had offered to buy it for her .
" Let's walk around the forest , it's so romantic " Pia said laying her head down on his shoulder .
" U r the only girl I think who would find this romantic and watch that horrid movie for a romantic dinner "
" I am different " Pia said quietly
" U sure are , but that's why I love u " Abhay said kissing her head , because he noticed Pia getting a lot quieter . Maybe he had offended her somehow ?
She lifted her head off and held his hand and asked him seriously ," Would u love me forever if we could live forever Abhay ? "
Abhay hadn't ever seen Pia so serious before , he was almost worried " Of course I would , but I think that's a little too futuristic Pia . We aren't here forever " Well u aren't , I am
" True , sorry I got a little too serious with the movie idea"
" Movie idea ? That movie was horror Pia , how can u associate it with romantic feelings ?" Abhay said laughing .
Pia looked back at Abhay seriously and with the street lamps reflecting off lights , Abhay could almost see her veins on her neck . God , she really was pale. But Abhay kind of found that sexy , more vampirish maybe .
" Well the vampire couple did stay together for a long time , and I think that's pretty cool . They loved each other to stay together for centuries , I mean that's super romantic . Barring the evil intentions in the end of course " she said giggling .
" Yeah I guess , but I am sure real vampires don't wear cloaks all the time or turn into bats . Add the coffin thing seemed so unreal !"
" Ooo, someone seems very obsessed about vampires " Pia teased ." Do u believe in vampires Abhay ?"
" Yeah , and I am sure they would love to prey on lovely looking ladies like u " Abhay said tickling Pia .
She laughed pushing Abhay away " Well if I met a vampire I would totally tell him to suck on me and and make me his own personal Slave"
Abhay wrinkled his nose hearing that " Why would u want to say that ? That's gross "
" But Dracula liked that , vampires like sucking blood and girls don't they ?"
" Yeah, but the slave part is disturbing , and please don't ever say that to a vampire Pia "
She started laughing aloud at that " Oh my god , u actually believe in supernatural stuff like vampires "
Well yes , I am a vampire myself
" Yeah , I know I am being silly . Horror films do that to me " Abhay joked
Abhay noticed they had stopped in the middle and Pia still had her serious look on . Abhay could see Pia wanted to tell him something really badly , she had her thinking face on . But instead she leaned in closer and kissed him .
And it did involve a lot of tongue action ,and feeling each other's body and hair tugging . Well thank god for the Dehradun forest providing them a wonderful making out spot .
Abhay was really phased out by the making out , Pia hadn't ever kissed him like this . It wasn't ever that intimate . Usually light clandestine kisses . That had been deep , and Pia still looked very disturbed .
" Hey U ok ?" He asked touching her cheek , and she seemed colder than she already was .
Abhay decided then that he wouldn't ever tell Pia that he was a vampire . If this was the reaction she had against something that was clearly very disturbing to her . God knew how she would react to him being a vampire .
She would leave him . And he would be broken hearted .
But wasn't that the right thing ? Shouldn't he be the self less one , shouldn't he tell her what he was instead of cheating her .
" I need to tell u anything " Pia said
" What ?" Abhay asked surprised
" I am -"
And the god damn phone had to ring at that very moment as Abhay saw Pia trying to take out her phone .
" Mom ? Yeah , I am coming . In a few minutes , on my way "
Abhay saw Pia walking back to him , her earlier expression disappearing and in place the earlier excited one . But it just looked kind of fake ...
" I think we have to end our romantic stroll , mums after me to come home"
" Sure , I'll drive u . It is late "
Abhay drove the car in silence with the radio playing old songs and Pia softly humming to them . It felt so natural , like they were a normal couple , having the best time of their life and everything was just .. Perfect. But Abhay knew something was really amiss , he knew he was the one who ruined the perfect storyline here, being the vampire . But tonight he had felt Pia hiding something from him . Something big . She never brought back the talk she had started before the phone call . But he couldn't just ignore it .
Maybe it was time for the truth after all .
Pia kissed him goodnight as they stopped in front of her house .
" U never did tell me what u were going to say ?" He asked
Pia looked back , her face not giving away anything " Nothing .. Just that I love u . " she said smiling brightly .
" Ok " Abhay smiled . And drove home .
She was lying .He knew it .

He walked back home , disappointed even though he had just had an excellent making out session . Something just unsettled him . The house seemed empty , maybe his parents were out . Good , he couldn't face another of his dad's lectures about telling him who Pia was and why he was dating a human.
" Glad to see u after a long time brother"
He saw Siddharth , his older brother lounging on the couch drinking blood from a wine glass .
Abhay was surprised to Siddharth , he was the kind of brother who would turn up once in a 50 years to greet him . Siddharth preferred living the nomad life while Abhay preferred Covens. "It's been a a long time Siddharth , where were u ?"
" i actually go by 'Sid ' now and I was in Australia , they got some nice animals there . U know I just wanted a change of diet ." He said and they both chuckled .
" But what really surprised me and made me come back was news about u "
" About me ?" Abhay asked confused
" Yes, mum and dad were telling me that u , my dear little brother. are having an affair with a human being . And that just seemed unbelievable to me , I mean u , Abhay r the good guy , u would never take advantage of a human being . U feel guilty killing animals . But mum dad insisted that I come talk to u , or in better way hit ur head with sense ."
Abhay sighed , they all knew didn't they , he couldn't hide it forever ." They r right Siddharth . I am actually seeing a human girl and I am madly in love with her "
To say Sid looked just shocked would be an understatement , he looked very shocked and dropped his glass of blood ," Now look what u made me do Abhay , I just broke a perfectly fine wine glass . R u joking?"
" Not in the least "
Sid started laughing aloud after that , and Abhay soon joined in . " I never thought u would have it in u to be the bad boy Abhay , I am impressed "
" It's not that Siddharth , I really love her . I do "
" I know , I was kidding , I mean , I am glad u finally found a mate but a human ? I assume u r going to turn her soon "
Abhay didn't answer and there was an uncomfortable silence for a while ." u r aren't u Abhay ?"Sid asked again
" She doesn't know I am a vampire "
" Wow, now that's the icing of the cake Abhay . I gotta give it to u "
Abhay walked back to the bar table in the room with Sid pouring drinks for them both ."I want the whole story " he said
Abhay told him everything , except all the intimate details . Just small little snippets like how they met and how he knew he liked her .
" And she's so different Siddharth, u could mistake her for a vampire if u met her " Abhay said laughing
" Why ?"
" Well for one she doesn't ever eat anything , loves dark colours too much and she's really pale. "
" Really pale did u say ?" Sid asked irked .
" Yes, I just said that "
Siddharth didn't speak a lot after that, and went on to his deep thinking mode.
" I wonder if she is .. I did find them in many places . But India ? Could she be ? "
" What r u rambling about ?" Abhay asked annoyed .
Sid came back from his thinking land and still looked quite disturbed ." I think u could continue ur relationship with her . I don't think she's quite what she says she is , if my sources r right "
" What do u mean ? U think Pia isn't human ?!" Abhay asked alarmed .
" Yes, but she isn't a vampire or any other supernatural that we have in here . But I am not sure .. I think I need to go to do more research ."
With that Siddharth walked away leaving Abhay with doubts . Abhay didn't know what to think , he had considered Pia to be a supernatural tonight and many times before .But having someone actually Tell him that Pia could be a supernatural just didn't feel right .
Maybe she was just lying to him all along .
It left him quite worried and angry . Maybe Pia didn't love him , maybe she knew he was a vampire and just liked playing with his heart .
No , that wasn't his Pia . She loved him , he always felt it .

Abhay trudged around the forest , he was really in a foul mood today . Pia hadn't come to college and hadn't once called him telling him why . Maybe she was just really sick , that made him stop . Or maybe she doesn't want to talk to u .
He hated how he was behaving , like a stupid teenager high on hormones . But he wasn't a teenager , he was 450 years old for pete's sake . And this wasn't the ideal behaviour for him . And then to top that Siddharth hadn't once talked to him about what he had been referring yesterday night. That was just unfair ! To leave him hanging like that .
And then Ofcourse he hadn't fed for days . He found his prey , a deer standing lazily . He took his position , trying to be quiet and not scare it . He was about to attack when he was interrupted by someone unexpected .
" Abhay Raichand , it's nice to see u. It's been long since I tried to kill u "
Abhay turned to see Jey , his age old enemy standing there , baring his teeth .
" Oh no ,not u again , do u really want to be dead dog ?"Abhay said lazily .
Jey Khurana growled infront of him , baring his teeth . " U killed my brother!"
" If I hadn't killed him , he would have killed me . Simple logic dog "
But Jey just didn't want to back out , instead he transformed and turned into the big black scary wolf that red riding hood hated . And so did Abhay Raichand. He growled , his yellow eyes glaring at him and the canines sharp .
" Ok , I guess u really want to fight "
With that Abhay attacked Jey , trying to bite at his neck . But damn the dog was fast , he kept squirming away and kept catching Abhay unaware with his new moves .
That worried Abhay , he hadn't fed for a long time and he really didn't want to be caught dead infront of Jey.
He tried again , trying to wrestle with Jey but Jey seemed to be much more stronger and pushed Abhay against a tree . The tree unfortunately didn't last well with Abhay's weight and cracked . Abhay really was worried now , he felt awful and his body just didn't have the power to fight . He needed blood , and fast .
He could see Jey laughing at him , but Abhay attacked again . His last try , he thought . But Jey overpowered him again and dominated him on the ground . Abhay struggled against Jey's paws but Jey was too strong for him .
Was he actually going to die ? And by a dog ! Now that was an insulting death .
He struggled hard , as he saw Jey's sharp canines nearing his face . No !
Just when he thought he was dead , like really dead not the half undead thing he already was . He felt the heavy weight of Jey being lifted off his body , and heard Jey's doggy howl .
He got up , still hurt ,to see the most astonishing thing . His 'human ' girlfriend apparently was way too strong and was beating the s*it out of Jey .
He couldn't believe his eyes , but he had too . He was a vampire and vampires had 20/20 vision , there was no chance of a mistake . He saw the back of Pia kicking and fisting Jey hard.
And Jey looked hurt and bloody , how could a werewolf possibly be hurt by a human ? He could hear Pia's shrieks too , and somehow she was really good at jumping . How could he have missed Pia 's this side , he really was a bad boyfriend .
Pia at one point struck Jey so hard that Jey changed into his human form.
" U f-f-freak !! Get away from me !!" Jey yelled
" Oh no, I don't like people who attack my boyfriend . And I need that brain of urs, it smells real good "
Abhay was alarmed hearing Pia like that . He got up staggering and saw Pia taking a wooden piece and plummeting it in Jey's chest . Abhay really didn't know why he was hesitant to go to Pia . She was his girlfriend !
Abhay slightly touched Pia's shoulder and she turned to face him . He flinched back after what he saw .
Pia 's eyes had turned from his favourite chocolate brown to demon black . Throbbing blue veins were visible near her forehead and eyes and her face looked deathly pale .
But she changed her look the second she saw him, it was like he saw a different shadow of her . She was back to her brown baby eyes and that normal sickly pale skin .
" A-Abhay , u r hurt . Oh my god , I- I know u r scared . B-But I am just trying to help . I love u " she begged , trying to touch him .
Abhay wasn't scared , he was a vampire himself . He was just , well, a little shocked . More than shocked. More like intrigued .
He let Pia hold his hand , while she clearly looked much more shaken than him . " What r u ?" He asked
She swallowed hard , and said ," I am a zombie "
" U r lying "
Pia looked mad at that " Abhay freaking Raichand ! I just saved ur life and u literally just saw me as a demon and I am kind of revealing the biggest truth of my life . And all u have to say is , ' U r lying !'. R u kidding me !"
With that Pia started nervously blabbering " I know U hate me and think I am a freak , but u know .. I was just scared .. I didn't want to lose u. I don't usually gel well with zombies , and if any one got to know I was with a human , u would be dead . U r my food after all-"
" Wait human ?" Abhay interrupted
Pia looked at him oddly " Yes, u r human Abhay. Did u get amnesia or something ? "
" No , but when did u find me ?"
" Just about when Jey was straddling u and u were going to be doggy meat . I mean , who even told u to roam around the forest Abhay ! It's dangerous ! " she said
" Well I think I have a surprise for u then " he said smirking
" u still love me ?" She asked
" Yes, that's pretty obvious , but yeah I am not human , I am a vampire "
Pia turned was too pale then , and gasped a loud . " R u joking Abhay ? Because if u r , I swear I'll -"
" No I am not "
With that he closed his eyes and opened then again , revealing his blue orbs and canines . And Pia didn't react for a second but then started snickering ," Oh I get it now ! That's why I could never smell fresh brains from u . Because u r already dead like me "
" U eat brains ? "Abhay asked cringing
" Judges the man who sucks blood "Pia taunted
" Touch"
Abhay really had to admit , this was unexpected . Beyond his reason , he could have never guessed .
" But how could i have never known zombies exist ? I have been living for 450 years . "
" I think it's because both of us r dead , we don't have a scent . I know werewolf's exist because I could smell his rotten scent and I know witches exist too, they have the partial human scent .But u just smelled like -"
" Nothing , right ?" Abhay completed.
" Exactly " Pia agreed " And Man U r old , I just recently got turned "
Abhay tilted his head in confusion "By Who? "
" I don't know , it was a random dude I met at a party. The party had been pretty weird too . But all I remember is being almost drowning in the swimming pool and then the next second I wake up , I just want to eat brains . But I controlled myself and I am quite thankful actually . Sure I am an a undead zombie but Atleast I can still talk to my parents."
" So no one knows what u r ?" Abhay asked
" No , Maya knows who I am . She's a witch and she could tell what was happening to me . We had been friends before and when i started acting strange as a human , she did her research and told me I was a zombie . Shocked the day lights out of me actually " Pia chuckled
Abhay's phone hummed in his pocket and he saw it was a message from Siddharth .
I think ur gf is zombie queen . Zombies exist and I m pretty sure she is a zombie . I met many in my travels.-Sid
Well wasn't Siddharth early, Abhay sarcastically thought
I already found it out . I am cool with it .-Abhay
Grt ! Can't wait to meet the new member of the family :P- Sid
" Who r u texting to ? " Pia asked
" My brother "
" U have a brother ? U never told me u had a brother ."
Abhay smiled , he could finally tell the truth now . No hiding facts , no hiding secrets . They were both supernaturals anyway " Because Siddharth is my older brother and he's a vampire too. It would be tough to explain to a human why he looked so young and never stayed at home for like 50 years ."
Pia laughed at that and said " So u r like ' ok ' with me ?"
Abhay held Pia's chin and looked in her eyes " I'll be always 'ok' with u Pia , no matter what . Monsters have to stick together don't they "
" Oh they definitely do " Pia flirted and kissed him . And it was a happy slow kiss , not like the last strained one .
" So do u eat human brains or ...?"Abhay asked inbetween
Pia's scowled at him at that " No , I don't like murdering people Abhay , thank u . I am fine with animals and sometimes dead cemetery human brains "
" Hey , I was just checking our diet plans " Abhay joked " Now I guess we could hunt together , I suck the blood and u eat the brain . "
" Yes, that would be perfect " Pia joked along .
And then the two monsters walked away , hand in hand . Living their happily ever after , and after , and after ... Well u get it . Forever .
It had truly been a monsterous night .
Surprised u again didn't I ? 😆
