Hmm..yes you're right. To an extent. What Abhay is feeling is a sensation mingled with self loathing and his unbounding love for Piya.
Abhay doesn't despise himself as an evil soul..but what he feels is a part of his monstruos existence that he loathes and is bound to loath till the day he has the sense of purity and humanity inside. It is something he could not help! Perhaps something he should not. Because that's what marks him different from his species.

And now there is the added jealousy that no man had ever escaped. But to Abhay more than jealousy it is his rage about what he is and what he would like to be, that's governing his present emotion.
