Abhay's main research was about the mysteries surrounded in the old palaces. In his list, Krishnagiri palace had a great rank. It was not difficult to get the consent from the palace owners for research, as the head of that family, Mr.Ramcharan was Abhay's dad's best friend.

The palace was what he had expected. Even in the daylight, a darkness surrounded around the palace. From its appearance Abhay could make out that it has a great baggage of mysteries in it. He felt a creepy feeling inside him.

"I have dealt with worst than this. What else will be worse than fighting for life with a spirit? I am gonna explore this palace man"- he thought to himself.

It was indeed wonderful as he expected. As days passed, he became more and more attached to the palace. It was really huge and had a lot of secret chambers. Abhay succeeded in opening one or two. It was written in the history of palace that there are 5 secret chambers which mean he has to find out three more.

It was not only to the palace he got attached to but also the girl in peacock salwar, Piya. She was not like other girls he has seen. First he thought that she is a fool, stupid and insensitive girl. But as he got to know her more, he understood that she is very much intelligent. It's true that she don't know how to close the door of a car or put a seat belt. But she definitely knows how to calm an angry ox. She was a girl who is having the purity of a village. She was not exposed to the dirty minds of the town. She is as innocent as a baby. She appears to be happy all the time. But he didn't know that she is putting up an act in front of everybody.

There was a large area of land attached to the palace. He often walks over there. There was a pond in the edge of the palace land. It was his favourite spot from the very moment he saw it. On that day also he was walking to his favourite destination. Suddenly he heard a muffling cry. Alarmed, he looked for the source. It was none other than Piya. She was sitting under a huge tree and her hands were around the bark of the tree as if she was hugging the tree. She was talking to the tree

"I don't want to live. Why to live in such a place where nobody cares about me? Everybody wants their own good. Khushi Di went to the forbidden house because of me? You know that she didn't listen to my pleadings. But now every blame is upon me. See what they have done to me..."

Abhay was watching all this by hiding behind another tree. He was both surprised and confused by seeing this new Piya. She got up and rolled down her sleeves a little. To the utter shock of Abhay, there was a burning mark. It was looking like as if somebody had kept a hot iron over her tender skin. After a few moments she rolled up the sleeves. Again she was talking to the tree.

"I know you are fed up with my problems. But what to do? I don't have any one else expect you. I don't want others to know how much hurt I am. So better you also don't tell anybody ok."

She wiped her tears. Putting up a smile in her face she kissed the tree and walked towards the palace. Abhay was dumbstruck by whatever he had witnessed. That was not the Piya he knew. There was something about her which he doesn't know yet. He decided to find it out. But how? That was the problem. At last he approached Devasaha, the butler of the palace. He appeared to be a genuine person and Piya gave utmost respect to him. He considered her as his own kid.

When Abhay asked him about Piya, he did notice the change in facial expression of Devasaha. Devasaha tried to avoid him, but Abhay was determined to find out the truth. At last Devasaha gave up.

"Okey. I'll tell you. But before that promise me that you won't bring any problem to Piya Beti"
Abhay agreed. Devasaha started unleashing the truth...
