i beleive stereotypes r not to be taken seriously
it is okay to joke around about them as long as the intention is not to hurt someone

What do you mean by 'think cows are sacred...beef so wrong' ji? That is not a stereotype, it is called faith. Keshav ne puja tha gao maa ko, aur aaj bhi unnko pujte hain. Please explain to me what you meant ji, or aage se please take care that people might find it in the wrong sense😊

Stereotypes are when Punjabis are considered in the Banta Santa lines, sardar hai toh automatically stupid hai. Stereotypes are when Punjabis are considered low graded farmers that can not be doctors, engineerers, etc.

yeh manai i think u got confused there.. the whole food issue is more to do with faith and religion rather than stereotype

but yeh stereotypes dont tend to bother me, as long as ppl aren't stupid enough to think they're actually true and then get gobsmacked when u explain to them that what they thought is entiiiirely different to the real deal 😃

Sorry, but that does not make it a stereotype. So what if they think that? All Indians do respect jeev in Indian more so cows b/c it gives them a living. You are implying that faith is a stereotype, and I find that rude ji. When Indians think that way na, who can stop gore from saying things. India is an agricultrual country, and the cows, and a lot of other jeev play a vital role in it. What is wrong in paying respect to the animal from showing faith. Ganesh ji ko gore say is an elephant and laugh at the fact, so would so you that is stereotyping as well? Faith and stereotype are two DIFFERENT things. Go to India, and everyone will respect a gao b/c it gives so much, some more than others.

Here is a stereotype......when Ramanand Sagar proposed that he'll make an epic on the 10 Gurus, a handful of Sikh Punjabi said that no human can portray a Guru. Krishna, Mahabharat, Ramayan were made but no objection. That riot created a stereotype where people assume that every Sikh Punjabi only respects their faith, and there is no respect for others.

simmi i get what ur saying there and agree with u pretty much on all points raised there.. all/most Indians living within India do respect cows coz of the vital role they play in one's living.

but i think manai isn't referring the the actual faith as a stereotype.. what i understood she means is that a lot of gore or anyone else think that ALL indians in any country don't eat beef because they believe cows are sacred. Its not a mockery of the faith, moreso a 'stereotype' in the sense that the faith u've been explaining has been generalised to all Indians worldwide and it is often thought that all Indians don't eat beef. I think that's the issue she was trying to raise.. not that the faith is a stereotype.
