Chapter 40

Old Years night party at the Scindhia Resort the invitees included close friends, family. Business associates, employees and their family. It was an informal occasion with a large buffet dinner and open bar some of the guest were dressed in traditional wear while other choose western outfits.

Aarti was wearing her sexy black cocktail dress and Yash a double brested black dinner jacket they held hands and mingled with the crowd.

Paridhi dressed in her mini black cocktail dress caused a stir around the women too short the older ladies complained the younger girls complimented her because she is the rising star and a youth icon of Bhopal. The men looked and of course were discreet with their comments among themselves after all she is the youngest Scindhia bahu.

Pankaj and Vidhi looked stunning complementing each other; Vidhi made sure she did not look like a tired old housewife with a nagging saas; she took care with her make up and opened hairstyle.

Akash and ishita looked stunning; as usual she wore a long skirt to cover her legs and calves but the top was very sexy showing off her curves.

Radha, G3 and Maya as if planned wore saree of a mixture of black, white, and silver; but G3 made sure and wore her expensive large antique Scindhia's jewellery while Radha went with a simple design but expensive jewellery.

G3 made it known that she was not going to be out done by Radha after all Prateek is her son and they were also celebrating his soon to be opened restaurant.

Yash and Aarti were the perfect host and hostess they greated all by the entrance took the cold casual looks from G3 and Maya as blessings it had been months and still no change in their attitudes towards Aarya.

The dance floor was opened after the welcoming speech by Yash also the bar and buffet dinner. Yash lead his lady to the dance floor for the slow romantic numbers lost in ther love for each other oblivious to others. They were joined by the brothers and their wives.

Even the kids wanted to celebrate they danced with their papa and uncles on dance Bollywood hits; with Vidhi and Paridhi joining in much to the annoyance of both G3 and Maya after all the Scindhia's bahus are not supposed to dance in front of all strangers.

The Dubeys arrived late and they had with them Prashant his wife Neda and their six seven month old son.

Aarti was dancing with her handsome hubby when the Dubeys arrived Prashant begun commenting "Well she has done well for herself, just think one day all this will belong to my boy she give birth too."

"Prashant what nonsense are you speaking don't make me regret brining you here tonight" said his ma.

"I am not speaking nonsence your ex bahu has done well and the man she married he has two daughters of course his wealth will go to his step son, my son"

"Prashant keep your nasty thoughts for yourself and don't make any trouble here" said his ma

"Ma what trouble is he making he is just stating a fact the boy is his biological son." Said Neda "Just look at them on the dance floor he is so much in love with her I am sure e made the boy his heir"

Shoba ma was livid listening to those two she knew that they had a plan husband and wife were just a greedy. Dubey ji speak to your son and bahu I don't want any problems for my Aarti"

Akash and Radha saw them and came across "Shoba ji Dubey Ji You have finally arrived Aarti was wondering what happened to you guys"

"Uncle ji auntie ji Bhabhi was about to go to your place but Yash bhayia had to stop her. You know how implusive she can get and just go storming out" laughed Akash looking closely at the new commers

Dubey ji said "We know beta let me introduce you this is Prashant my son his wife Neda and their baby Karan"

"Prashant oh yes you are bhabhi's ex husband so we finally meet you" answered Akash

Radha said "Namaste and come join in the rest of the family are over here" she took them and made the introductions SP looked carefully at Prashant he did not like him, but would hire the PI to put a man on Prashant to learn all his movement while here in Bhopal.

SP "Prashant so how long are you going to be in Bhopal for?"

"Well uncle ji I was thinking of moving in with my parents now that Aarti and her son no longer live with them; it is time for me, my wife and child to move in back with my parents after all we are their true family, and they are not getting any younger they would need us to look after them"

SP "I agree a son should be with his parents in their time of need I hope you have no designs thinking that you can have Ansh he is a Scindhia son and we will not give him up"

G3 who was sitting in the group "Ji what are you saying the boy is his son if he wants him we cant stop him"

"G3 Ansh is my grandson my Yash's son no one is taking him away from us" turning back to Prashant "so tell me clearly do you have any intention of taking my grandson away?"

"No uncle ji the boy don't know me at all he spent his life with his mother now Yash your son is his step father I won't take him besides I have my own son now and I am very happy with my wife"

Aarya who had seen Prashant hurried over they were shocked that he would come here and even more surprise to see him chatting with their family. Very disturbed they moved quickly to the group Yash "Prashant you here how why??"

"Yash Namaste I came with ma and bauji will it be a problem that I am here?"
"No Prashant it is not a problem" answered "After all we are all mature people here. This is you boy how cute Yash and I will have our baby in a few months also maybe another boy" and she possessively hugged Yash who returned by kissing her hand in front of all.

Yash said "I forget my manners Namaste you are Neda nice to meet you please enjoy yourselves and best wishes for the New Year" and Aarya moved back to the dance floor.

"Aaru is she the one he left you for?"

"Yes but that is history I hope they are happy together"

"Well they are still together for how long now?"
"About seven years almost eight years. Now they have their own child I wonder what he wants"

"You think he wants something?"

"Yes Prashant is a selfish man he wanted their house and to be a part of their business remember I told you how he asked me to help him get back into their good books when I met him the day of the henna ceremony"

"Yes and I give him a nice check for his signature to legally give Ansh up. I don't trust him"

"Me too but we won't allow him to spoil our life or cheat ma and bauji"

The kids who were dancing with Pankaj and Prateek took a break when they saw their badi ma and papa."Namaste all" they chorused and greated the elders closely looking at Prashant and Neda

"Betas this is Prashant uncleji, Neda auntie ji and their baby Karan they will be staying with us for a while" said Shoba

"Wow! Another uncle and auntie" said Ansh "And a little brother this time" he teased his sisters who all were laughing

"Yeah but they don't live with us so you are still out numbered by us girls" answered Palak hugging her brother "Yeah" said little Payal hugging him on the other side

Radha took her naughty grandkids "Come babies time to eat" whose instinct was to protect her kids; although Ansh was not her biological grandkid she loved the little cheeky monkey so much he was her little man very much like his mother.

"I want cake and ice cream" said Payel

"Silly we have to eat our burger and pizza first" said Ansh

"You don't want noodles beta we have Chinese style with vegs." said Radha.

"There is no pizza or burger" asked a sad Ansh

"Yes beta there are because mama knows how much you kids love them" said Radha hugging him

"Yeah!! Hear behans pizza and burgers" they began to jump and skip happily behind their Radha dadai ji towards the dinning area.

Maya bent and whispered to G3 "The husband is back he will want his brat back now we would have some fun at their expense" and the two ladies mingled with the guest and of course whispered that Aarti's first husband is back.

SP heard and saw what G3 and Maya was up to but let them have their fun he would deal with them when he returns to SM but right now he and Dubeyji needs to have a serious talk no one was going to cause trouble for his family if it takes money to keep Prashant away from Aarti and Ansh then he would pay.

Aarya met Prashant and Neda at the dinning area and being the good host invited them to sit with them. "So Prashant tell me the truth are you going to live here= in Bhopal with ma and Bauji" asked Aarti

"Yes they are after all my parents"

"So they have forgiven you or is it only bauji" asked Aarti

"Aarti why do you care so much they are my parents after all"

"I care because they are my parents also and I know you too well not to trust you"

"Aarti how can you accuse him he has not done anything wrong" said Neda

"Did I say he did something wrong no I did not. Prashant are you planning to do something wrong?"

"Aarti I just to live my life with my family they are becoming older now"

"Yes they are but they can still manage without you and Yash and I are there for them"

"But they are my parents and it is my right and duty to look after them" said Prashant

"I may not be their biological child but they are my parents to and it is also my right and duty to look after them without causing them extra stress" said Aarti

"Prashant is their son what stress will he cause them; I am their bahu who will look after them" said Neda glaring at Aarti

Aarti looked her straight at her "I am their daughter and I will not sit idly by and watch anyone take advantage of them or their business"

"Why because you want what they have for your son; remember now we also have a son their grandson and heir" answered Neda

Aarti "My son doesn't need their property he will earn for himself and be content with his accomplishments. Material thing is not everything in life love, maintaining healthy relationships is what matters."

Yash "Prashant you want to be with ma and bauji fine but don't cause them any stress remember they are not alone I and my family are there with them; and will continue to be there after you had enough of them"

"Why are you assuming that we won't stay?" asked Neda

"Why did you not marry Prashant in the first place before he married Aarti and move in with them in Indore. Why break his marriage to Aarti then marry him and move to Delhi staying away all these years? You should off asked them to move in with you, then you could have been the happy family from long time back"

Aarti gestured to Yash that some of their guest were listening to their conversation Yash said "Let us not spoil the mood tonight enjoy yourselves we are all related here a crazy mixed extended family as our kids say but we will have a continuation of this discussion another time"

Pankaj and Vidhi joined them and Yash did the introductions Pankaj in his typical elder brother way begun observing and questioning Prashant about himself and his wife.

Neda felt that they were too nosey but she said nothing how dare they treat Prashant like a criminal; but Prashant did not mind because his son was going to be one of the heirs to this fortune and he smelt how he can benfit from this.

Flash back a few months past the conversation with Sunita and Prashant

Sunita "Prashant bhai I saw Aarti today after so many months we met she is married to a wealthy guy from Bhopal and your son is calling him papa. How can you allow this you child is calling another man papa, that is not right"

"Sunita I don't mind if her brat is calling another man papa it means another man is responsible for him"

"But he is your son your flesh and blood he should be with you" Sunita insisted

"I never wanted him it was a mistake and Aarti got pregnant besides I am married to the woman I always loved and we have our son; I don't need an additional expense"

"How can you say that Prashant a boy needs his father in his life and a father needs his son when he becomes older"

"Let Yash Scindhia be his father and manage all his expense and when the boy is older I will tell him I am his father, but I don't need that hassle now I am barely able to maintain my baby son and he is my pirioty. Not the child of some selfish orphaned woman who took my parents away from me"

"But you loved Aarti that is why you married her." Insisted Sunita

"Love my foot My Parents Loved her and she loved them I just give them what they wanted, a daughter and she got parents; I got to live my life with Neda remember her Sunita the woman I always loved well as you know she is my wife."

"Prashant how can you be so mean your son Ansh is so cute and chubby he needs his father you to guide how much will a step father guide him and love him. Aarti's husband has his own daughters and later when they have their own child you think he will care for Ansh I beg you Prashant be a part of your son's life."

"Sunita you are my friend but I am telling you mind your own business let Aarti live her life with her new husband and family they are rich the boy will never want for anything in his life. Allow me to live mine with my wife and son"

"A woman should only marry once Aarti belongs to you your son belong with you, go back and claim your family don't allow another man what is only your right"

"Sunita and what about Neda and our son you forgot I said I love Neda I never loved or cared for Aarti. Look Sunita I am tired of this pointless conversation goodbye take care of yourself"

End of flashback.

Prashant smiled when he remembered that conversation yes Aarti did well for herself and her son; just look how old man Scindhia is willing to fight or pay cash to keep the boy just like father just like son. Prashant smiled he still had a lillle more than half the sum Yash paid for him to sign over custody of the boy, and now old man Scindhia was willing maybe to pay more. Prashant made sure his baby Karan had a fixed deposit and money placed aside for his education. Neda was happy with her expensive clothes and jewellery.

The countdown begun Aarya was hugging each other their cheeky kids were awake and in the arms of their loving grandparents.

At the stroke of midnight "Happy New Year my love" and Aarya kissed on the lips good thing the lights were dim, and all was busy with their spouse or family because that also would of caused gossip and scandal.

They played a romantic song after and Aarya held each other close moving to the music. Then many New Year's cake was cut and toast made with alcohol to the annoyance of G3 and many of the old fashioned wives there.

In Aarya's bedroom Yash was a happy man he greeted the New Year with a beautiful woman in his arms his pregnant wife who loves him just as much as he loves her. "Aarti I love you so much and our kids. I had this strange happy feeling when I saw Prashant i wanted to thank him for leaving both you and Ansh then beat the crap out of him for abusing my beautiful Aarti. That woman Neda she looks like a greedy goal digger but she loves Prashant to put up with a looser like him."

"Yashu forget them we will deal with them only if we have too I just don't want them to hurt ma and bauji. Lets think about us I love you very much and have so much to be thankful for. It was a good party right I noticed our family had a very good romantic time your brothers lost no chance to romance their wives. They are taking a page from your book." And she held his head moving him closer for a kiss, deep soul searing kiss, Yash took the hint lifted her up in his arms and took her to their bed to continue their romance.
