Chapter 4
At the Scindhia house the day started with the ladies offering morning prays with melodious religious songs, the men did their routine exercise father and son loved to go for their walks, the boys were still sleeping after all they were on holiday and G3 ma loves to pamper her boys.During breakfast Suraj announced that they will be hosting the thanks giving prays that very evening, this annoucement got poor G3 all neverous " Ji today I wont have enough time to make all the pererations." G3 you don't need to do anything bauji and I will handel everthing just make sure that all the family are present ok." replied Suraj "but Ji traditionally that is the work of the womwn in the family." G3 defended herself " I agree with G3 bahu." said Suraj's ma "yes i agree but you must also agree that G3 bahu tends to forget things under pressure and this ceremony is very imporant we want no mistakes." replied Sindhia Sr. After the men left the breakfast table leaving the ladies Maya had her say "why is this orphan child been given so much importance??? there are many beautiful, fair skinned little girls from our society born into families matching our status. I just don't understand what special magic she cast on bauji, and bhayia." her mother repilied "don't question their decision they know what is best for our family." but Maya was unflinching with her opinion " do you realizes that Yash's kids will be dark in complexion, and when they ask about their nana, and nani what will she tell them, do bauji, and bhayia know which caste this orphan belongs too, our family is held in high esteem in soceity we have royal blood running in our veins, I will never accept or understand why they are making this grave mistake." G3 began giving this decision some serious thought but she knew her husband will never change his mind. Maya noticed the change in G3 facial expression and she felt good her self thought I have sowned the seeds of doubt in G3 bhabhi mind she will certainly speak to bhayia in private about this matter smirked Maya. " Maya what is happening inthat head of your??"enquired her mother "nothing ma nothing" was her quick answer "really??" replied her ma she knew her daughter's nature only to well. "ok" her mother replied not convinced "well I am thinking about the pray cermony this evening, bahu call the boys to breakfast and inform them about the day's happenings." "Ji ma." replied G3 who never disagree with her mother in law.

" What more praying maa whyyy??? We are on holiday" complained Yash "i want to have fun the servants kids are also on school break and we planned to play a game of cricket this evening." "Yash you can play with them tomorrow, this is important to both your dadaji and bauji" "Why do kids always have to do everything adults want and adults are always reluctant to agree to what kids want???" complained Yash "children are to respect their elders understand" replied his mom "yash yesterday you went horseback riding and sightseeing" said Pankaj. "Bhayia we rode throughout the estate, you spoke to the workers, i made friends with their kids, it not my fault if there are miles of land too this property i wont call that sight seeing." answered back Yash, baby Prateek enjoyed the conversation of his brothers and demanded to go for a horse ride.
G3 said to her sons " take him riding be careful, and make sure you all return in the next two hours ok" Pankaj replied "I'll take care ma don' t worry we will return on time."

Pankaj rode holding Prateek in front of him he was very protective of his baby brother, Yash rode should of bee his horse alongside this brothers complaining " trees, grass, soil, and workers I should of been playing cricket now with my new friends they will think that I am just another rich spoil kid who don't care about their feelings, instead I am riding along with my brothers as a true landlord." "Yash if you feel that strongly lets go and meet them and explain that today you are busy but hopefully tomorrow you can join them O.k." answered Pankaj. When they arrived at the grounds where most of the workers kids had their play time Yash approached the group he met the day before they were excited to meet him for they truly appreciate that someone of Yash's status would take the time to speak, and be so genuine in wanting to be their friend. The kids were aware of the grand prays to be held that evening because all the workers and their family were invited for dinner, and some of the ladies were helping in the preparation. Pankaj give his permission for his younger brothers to play with the kids for something then they left to the main house before their mother could complain and their bauji will scold ma and them.

At the orphanage Aarti was helping her Savi ma cut flowers "Aarti beta this evening we are all going to the Scindhia estate for a pray ceremony" "Really, truely Ma"
"yes all the kids and the workers are comming with us" answered Savi " is it a speciall occasion ma" asked Aarti " yes beta it is." said Savi "now hurry inside and met your Shoba ma". Aarti hurried inside her Shoba ma told her to go bathe and come back to her there is a suprise for her. Aarti did what was asked of her and went inside Shoba ma roonm after knocking the door and receiving permission to enter on the be had the most beautiful clothese Aarti had ever seen in her short life there were also a pair of shoese, and socks, with ribbions and clips for her hair all the poor child could was stand and look at the items she dear not touch Shoba ma said " come beta let me dress you" when Aarti did not move she said "Aarti did you hear me come let Shoba ma dress you" when the little girl still did not move Shoba gently moved her forward closer to the bed and said "Aarti beta these are for you" "really, truely ma for me, but why?" " do you rember the Scindhia family you met two days ago at the open house?" " Yes ma" replied Aarti " well they liked you so much beta that they sent these for you and asked if you will sit with their family for the prays." " but why ma? do they want to adopt me??" asked Aarti trying not to becomme excited with this news "No beta they just want to spend so time with you" Shoba observed Aart's fallen face and hug the child close to her heart " Beta the like you a lot, they think you are a special little girl, it is their wish to spend time with you watch you grow up unspoilt by wealth, you don't understand do you dear?" replied Shoba "Yes i think I know what you are saying ma they don't want be to becomme someone who is spoilt with having too much money and showing off right" answered Aarti. Shoba was stunned with this answer her self thought how is it possible that this eight year old child understand this. When she did not reply Aarti said "you want to know how i know all this ma in school I have classmate who show off with their things and call me a poor orphan, they are always talking about their parents, and grandparents gifts, cars and house." Shoba " why have you not told before?" I don't mind because my adults here love me and all the childern here and you all said we are all gods childern, beside when I grow up I will be a lawyer or business woman and I will buy the things I need for my self" said a proud Aarti " Really so you have made plans." said Shoba hugging her angel and feeling pride run through her body. "Now baby time to get ready ok." said Shoba "one question the rest of the childern did they get new clothes too?" asked Aarti " yes love each child got new clothes and shoes just like you from the Scindhia family" replied Shoba.

All the kids, caregivers and workers from the orphanage arrived at the Scindhia estate on time for the prays they were greeted by the Scindhia elders and shown where to sit the Dubeys stood at on side with Aarti waiting for her to join the Scindhia family for the prays.Just before the prays started Suraj instructed his wife G3 to take Aarti and let her sit between his mother and G3. Gayatri did not object she never goes against her husband wishes, her mother inlaw smiled at Aarti who bent down to take blessing from her, she geniuely liked this child why she did not know or care, all she saw was a sweet innocent little girl. Maya of course had to give her many different facial expressions and say her favourite lines which got her a very pointed strict look by her mother. The boys were already sitting and Yash saw Aarti and thought why is she sitting here with us I wonder if ma and bauji are planning to adopt her I hope not I don't want her as my sister I already have my naughty baby brother Prateek to deal with, besides she is looking to pretty to be my sister. What Yash a girl and pretty girls are not pretty they are anoying, and no it all types who wants to boss us boys arround continued Yash self thoughts. Like all pre teen boys smitten with their first crush he kept stealing glances at the pretty girl [Aarti]. I hope no one notices me prayed Yash "Yash bhayia what you doing??" asked Prateek "What you looking at?" turning his head in the same direction as Yash " who that girl bhayia?? why she sitting with ma, and dadi??" "I don't know chote now turn your head forward and stop looking at her" said Yash "but you keep looking at her, why cant I??" "it is bad manners to agape at someone" replied Yash "But you doing it" said the naughty boy smilling at this older brother. "Oh hello both of you stop talking here comes bauji, and dadaji" admonish Pankaj.

thanks for the lovely update! aww it's so cute that Yash already has a crush on his future wifey 😉. I am glad that they want these two to know each other naturally although little Aarti is puzzled by what's happening. still she is smart to understand when explained to and she is so humble.
Bua ji stirring up trouble as usual and Gayatri easily influenced just like in the show. I wonder how far she will let herself be influenced.

I am starting to like Yash too, he is not a cocky spoilt brat, but a boy that is approachable and kind. Prateek the comedian, Pankaj the caring yet rule-abiding older brother.

waiting for more

chapter 5

The prays went well without any problems much to the satisfaction of the elder Scindhia men, after there was a small performance by the children from the orphanage which was appreciated by all present. After dinner it was time to socialize Shoba's two cousin brothers and their family approached Aarti who was still in the care of G3 ma they introduced them self mentioning that they also live in Bhopal, Suraj observed the group and came forward joining the conversation while the three kids had their own conversation, Suraj took this opportunity to introduce his sons to the new comers. Yash self thought Aarti a nice name suits her, she is even prettier up close, Aarti self thought why is he looking at me this, do I have food on my face or dress, this thin, tall fair skinned boy maybe he did not like that i sat with his family for the prays and dinner, i saw him looking at me just let me get him alone i will surely ask him what is his problem. Unfortunately Aarti did not get the opportunity Shoba ma came for her they were ready to return to the orphanage.

Back at the orphanage all the kids were excited they discussed the food, the beautiful estate the small gifts they each received from the Scindhia family, in all the excitement Aarti approached Shoba ma she was curious to learn more about the Scindhia and told about the boy Yash how ke kept looking at her, if she did anything wrong by sitting whith his ma, and dadi. Shoba reassured the child that she did no wrong, and that Mansi and her parents will be coming to the orphanage in the morning to speak to her. Aarti returned to her room and spent another night filled with beautiful dreams.

" Hello uncle Aunty" greated Aarti bending down to touch their feet, "Bless you beta" they replied, "hi Aarti" said Mansi "hello Mansi" replied Aarti. Shoba took everyone inside to the office which had a small sitting area they two also joined the elders. Aarti senses something important was about to happen, "Aarti beta we know you love living here with us, and this is the only home you know, but we also know one of your wish is to be a part of a family." said Dubey ji The little girl looked around the room at all the adults who were smiling at her, she wanted to hope to dear to be happy but she held back because she was so very afraid to show any form of excitment just in case this was a dream and this nice couple and their daughter changed their mind. Shoba observed Aarti was not showing any signs of joy after hearing this good news "beta what wrong?" asked Shoba "you don't want to live with them, Mansi will be both your friend, and sister" said Shoba Mansi chimed in "yes and Aman bhayia will have two younger sisters" she was clearly excited about having a sister. Aarti slowly looked at all the adults then turned to Shoba ma "really ma is it true I will have a family, two parents like some of my classmates." asked the innocent child with tears of joy forming in her eyes. "Hello don't forget you also will get a sister and an older brother whom we will play pranks on" said a happy but impatient Mansi. All the adults smile at the eager Mansi Dubey ji" Aarti beta your answer is important to us no one will force you to leave us if you don't want to go with them" " Yes Dubey papa I will go with them but will I be allowed to visit here and write to you" asked a concerned Aarti after all as Dubey papa said this is the only home she knows and they are her family. Mansi parents agreed to the child's wishes, they told her her new surname would be Sharma and that they live in Bhopal, and if she remembers that her Shoba ma is his cousin sister. The innocent child just shook her head up and down she was so happy and afraid to speak in case they changed their mind. "you are ok with this beta" asked Mansi mother "yes aunty " replied Aarti, Mansi mom smiled and said "from today call me mama, and call him papa just like Mansi because from today you are our daughter just like Mansi ok beta" and she hugged Aarti to her heart.

Bua "Mere bhagwan ki kasam what is wrong with this family? we are welcoming orphans as our bahu the sons of the family are playing with the servants kids encouraging them inside their rooms what is bauji and bhayia thinking" she said loud enough for G3 to hear.

"Ji can I speak to you" said G3 to Suraj " i accept that as your wife I should not question your decision but do you really want that orphan girl Aarti in our family?" " G3 concentrate on your work and let me do mine what decision that I take is for the best particular for my family, so don't you ask me this again" replied Suraj. Maya bua as usually is close by stalking "I said before Aarti will be the bahu of this family and the sooner everyone accepts this the better it will be for them" stated Suraj who had observed his sister close by.

Yash was in his room he wanted to give his new friends some of his books, and board games his bauji give him permission to do this while in the room the boys noticed Yash clothing in the cupboard and Yash saw the wishful look in their eyes so he give away some of his clothing away to the boys who were very grateful for their gifts. bua saw this and was not pleaed talking th herself "Mere bhagwan ki kasam these poor children will start to think that they are equal to us dressing like us" "Yash beta come here, why did you give them your clothes?" asked Maya " they will get more use from these clothes than i will, I have worn them only twice and will be leaving them here anyway,so I am doing no harm by doing so" replied Yash. Maya smiled at her nephew ans said "good boy" but her self thought you are still small you have to learn our status are different you should not be mingling with these kids and walked towards her room under the pretext to pray.

Back at the orphanage Aarti was so happy finally she has a family parents and a sister, "Aarti beta you will leave with the Sharma family this evening" said Shoba. "Beta are you happy" asked Savi ma "Yes I am happy, and sad because I will be leaving you all" said Aarti "Don't be sad beta you will visit them every year when we come to our farmhouse here and we did give you permission to write letters" said a kind Mrs. Sharma " Now go beta and take Mansi with you and say your goodbyes" said Mr. Sharma, Shoba ma, Savi ma, and Sita ma took the girls inside to say goodbye and pack Aarti stuff which was not much at all and were packed neatly in one suitcase.

When the time came for Aarti to leave she could not stop crying," I am going to miss you all so much. Do I really have to go??" Beta Yes you have to go they are your family now, they have started loving you, you are going to have fun learning new things, going new places. they can do so much for you beta and you will visit us next year and we will see how big you have become, and when you write to us you can tell us about ever thing you have done. So beta don't cry wipe your tears away and give us a smile" said Shoba ma.

Aarti did what her Shoba ma requested and after her last hugs from her caregivers she took Mrs. Sharma offered hand and sat in the backseat with Mansi nervous, sad but a little happy and excited to start her new life.
