Chapter 2

"Oh ma why do I have to go" protested an eleven year old Yash looking hopely at his mother trying his best to give her his cute puppy dogs eyes, and smile "because this is a family trip to our ancestral village" said his Gaytri ma continuing to sought and pack their bags. "yeah Yash get with the programme and pack your bags" his alder brother Pankaj. Yash loves his elder brother and took everything he said as law after all he was nine years older than him and after their father he was his hero.Rolling his eyes at his brother [behind his back of course] he continued to protest" but what will I do there??" "Yash beta you will have fun, make new friends, learn about your family history bauji, dadaji, and dadaiji want to spend some quality time with us" Gaytri patiently eplained to her favourite son, her middle child who is the apple of her eye " but, but" Yash continued his protest his younger brother five year old Prateek burst out in a fit of laughter mimicking his Yash bhaiya antics. This lead to a game of catch by both brothers with Yash wanting to tap/hit his baby brother for trobling him when he is having a serious conversation with his mother, but of course the naughty Prateek ran and hid behind his Pankaj bhaiya who in true hero style reprimand Yash, "Yash stop it chote is just playing, controll yourself he is the baby of the family!" "Just because he is the last he can do and say what he wants!"shouted Yash "Lower your voice Yash and apoligise to ma, chote, and me right now." Holding his ears with puppy eyes Yash apoligised to his family "Sorry" both his ma, and Pankaj bhaiya knew he was just upset because of the many plans he made to spend time with his friends.Little Parteek had to say " Yash bhaiya it is because I love you that why I tease you, I want to grow up to be just like you."Gaytri just looked at her boys and give thanks to god for her three blessings.

" Gaytri! Gaytri!" shouted Suraj " What is taking so long we leave in two hours!" "Ji!" repalied Gaytri her self thought this man has no patience "We will leave on time, I just have to finish the packing! Yash you heard your bauji hurry up and pack your bags!" poor Gaytri was becomming high strung and confused and all thes factors contribute to her forgetful nature.

When the family met downstairs in the living room Suraj asked his wife "Gaytri did you rember to pack the gifts for the orphan kids, the caregivers, and workers?? I don't any embrrassment." Sindia Sr. Suraj father and mother both who by all appearances looked very strict and Suraj's younger widowed sister Maya came into the room " Suraj beta did you take the money and offerings for both the temple and orphanage?" asked Sindia Sr. "yes I did bauji, I am well aware of the significance of this trip" answered Suraj "well then what are we waiting for lets leave now." replied Sindia Sr.

The family arrived at their ancestral in Indore late evening hoping to get and earily rest in peperation for their long day ahead. Yash was not excited he regarded all this as boring, it did not matter how much his elder brother tried to explain the importance of this trip his pre teenage mind said booorrring.
Early the following morning the Sindia family started their activities with a visit to the temple then finally to the orphanage.

Today was the day of the open house at the orphanage with the commencement of prayers, followed by lunch, and a concert by the children, after which families will reveal their choice for adoption. At this piticular ashram the children were fortunate to be adopted by wealthy families, and N.R.I.who give the kids an oppunity for a better life and the love of a family.

An eight year old aarti was amoung the eager children hoping for a better life Shoba ma had some how convinced her to take part in the days activities with her song after the pray ceremony, and her classical dance during the concert.

After the concert Aarti went and sat quietly in a conner expecting to be ignored as always but much to her suprise a couple with a son came towards her they praised her performance and enquired what else dose she like to do. While baby Aarti was so engrosed in her conversation she did not notice young Yash staring at her or the arrival of another couple with their young daughter the same age as Aarti they too praised the child Aarti and gived her the gifts of a hockey stick, and paints, penciles, and drawing books.This truely delighted baby Aarti as this was the first time people showed an interest in her she found out the little girl's name is Mansi and the little boy's name is Aman she had fun playing with them, all during that time she felt someone's eyes on her when she turned around she saw a handsome, skinny, tall boy who appeared to be debating if he should come forward an introduce himself or remaining standing close to his family.After both couples and their kids left Shoba ma called Aarti to her where she was standing with Yash's parents, and grandparents they blessed her and spoke to her kindly, they had three son in their family no daughters Aarti's heart started to beat rapidily thinking maybe this is the one the family she was meant to be a part off, yes today is her special day finnaly a family of her very own.
