Part Twelve
After Arpita left, Aarti became Yash's wife in true sense, there was no more guilt and restrictions on their sides. Aarti moved into Yash's room, they made it into their room. There was one regret they had not even one wedding photo to hang or to frame. When Aarti reflected back she didn't think after Prashant's death, she could love anyone else as much as she loved him but yet she found Yash. And yash in turn who never believed in love found his love in Aarti.
The sole reason they were they were together is Ansh and to watch him grow was sheer joy to both of them. It was a whole new and heartwarming experience for them. One day Aarti was playing with Ansh, Yash was also in the room. Suddenly they heard him say
"You heard that," Aarti alerted Yash.
"Yes, he said papa, Yash replied.
"No, Yashji.. Ansh said mama," Aarti negated him.
So they also had small fights over who will change the diapers, who will feed the baby in the mornings and so forth.
Of course their unusual marriage life will be not be all smooth sailing as they predicted even with Arpita gone. One evening the family were in the living room chatting when Buaji came in grumpier than usual.
"Bhaiya, Bhabhi.. mere bhagmwan ki kasam my brother's hard earned name has gone down the drain," Buaji said animatedly.
"What happened now? Gayatri asked not alarmed since Buaji has the habit of exaggerating.
"Do you know what people are saying about Yash? They are saying Yash has fathered a child with his mistress. And how we ill-treated Arpita and chased her away from this house," Buaji added.
Everyone were perplexed with this piece of news. Yash has been relegated to a immoral person, a womaniser. They all came to a conclusion that this must be the work of Arpita and her family. "Since this Aarti came here, we getting only bad name, when will we be rid of her," Buaji said adding salt to their wound.
"Buaji.. "Yash said in an angry tone. "Please don't say anything bad about others if you can't say anything good."
"Anyway this doesn't make any difference to me, I will not refute this, I will accept it as a fact," Yash added.
Yash hurriedly left the place and Aarti followed him from behind.
Later in their room Aarti questioned him, "Why Yashji? This is my mistake, why do you want to take blame for it."
"Your mistake or mine what difference does it make? We are one and how can you call Ansh a mistake," Yash replied.
Aarti was overwhelmed, she hugged and cried in his arms.
Vidhi called them back to the living room because Suraj Pratap had something important to say to them.
"Yash, we can't stop people from talking but we can reduce the damage," Suraj Pratap said.
"How?" Yash asked him eagerly.
"Well we can get both of you married again, the only difference we will do it properly this time," Suraj Pratap answered him.
Yash and Aarti looked at each other, this turn out to be blessing in disguise. So the marriage preparation started taking place as soon as this was announced. Marriage invitations were send out, shopping for jewellery, wedding ensemble for the bride and the groom and not to forget the wedding rituals. In the midst of this and wedding jitters, Aarti received a phone call from Arpita.
"Aarti..., this is Arpita, I should have called Yash but I know he will never pick my call,"Arpita said guessing Aarti's anxiety receiving a call from her.
Aarti was quiet so she continued, "Aarti.., I had nothing to do with all the stories flying around, my parents did it. I tried to stop them, they didn't want to listen. Please believe me."
"Ok, I believe you,"Aarti said. She hesitated for a while then proceeded to ask, "Arpita why did you leave when it was agreed upon that I was to go."
Arpita sighed and then answered, "I was so close to winning if you can call it that. I was there the night before you were to go, I saw both of you locked in embrace, I saw how Yash looked at you. He has never looked at me like that. That was the moment I realised Yash will never be mine."
They said their goodbyes with both of them glad that there was no more bad blood between them.
Finally the big day arrived, although it wasn't as grand as the Scindias wanted but it didn't lack in pomp and splendour. What a contrast this wedding was compared to their earlier one in the temple. Yash looked regal and Aarti the shy and exquisite looking bride, they complimented each other and all the guests present commented so. Dubeyji eyes brimmed with tears during the kanyadaan ritual. He finally could heaved a sigh of relief about Aarti's future when Yash and Aarti took their marriage pheras. Indeed Aarti was emotionally affected when Yash tied the mangalsutra and then placed the sindoor but she didn't want to spoil the moment by crying.
The wedding reception was a jovial affair. All of them danced and had loads of fun.
Pankaj teased Prateik, "Yash, Prateik's wedding got postponed because of you. Don't worry chote you turn will come soon." Everyone laughed.
There was one guest Aarti was dying to meet make it two, Mansi and Aman. Mansi hugged her from behind and Aarti pulled her to face her.
"Mansi.. you came today, I was expecting you from three days ago," Aarti told her playfully.
"Jaaneman.. samjha karo, aab tumari bhi shaadi ho gayi hai. Tum to jaan ti ho na yeh mard log apne biwi ke bagair do din kya, ek din bhi guzara nahi hota,"she said and winked at Aarti.
"You are so incorrigible," Aarti replied shaking her head. They continued talking and then Aman came by. Aman hugged Aarti and congratulated her. He asked her for Yash who was all the while looking at their direction. Yash then walked towards them.
Yash yanked Aman away from the ladies and told him, "Aman, Aarti is my wife, so please stay away from her." Aman's eyes popped out, he naturally laughed it off and agreed to Yash's demand.
Everything was perfect except for the suhagraat, Ansh insisted he sleep with mama and papa. Obviously Yash didn't relent he moved the sleeping Ansh to Vidhi's room and carried on with his original plan. Oh yes, they got their wedding photo too.
