No matter how many times I watch this sequence, I always have a huge smile on my face. Gurmeet and Kratika really had a blast shooting for this: it shows in the way they dance with carefree abandon, reflecting Yash and Aarti's lowered inhibitions. When they're not dancing, they're always moving rhythmically, emphasizing the flow of the song and lip-syncing to perfection. It is extremely difficult to write about this song sequence because of their movements and expressions, but I can't leave this out of a post about the episode! Their smiles and laughter are contagious enough as it is...Add Jai Jai Shiv Shankar and Yash-Aarti under the influence of bhang to the mix, and the result is an overload of cuteness and lots of smiles!

Tell me about it, Borna. I am grinning like an idiot whenever I watch this song sequence. It also had to do with the fact that the scenes that preceded the dance was absolutely out of this world. That 2 minute scene where Yash couldn't take his eyes off Aarti while doing the pooja and the scene where he catches her when someone pushes her away negated every standoffish behavior of Yash towards Aarti that we have seen in the last 6 months.

The second the music starts to play, Kratika is swaying to the beat, circling around Gurmeet. They're both so in-character (as they should be, but this is impressive because they never cross into OTT territory and that in itself is laudable given the nature of the characters' situation) that I found it even more noteworthy that Kratika eases into the dance naturally, putting a spring into Aarti's step.

Yup you are spot on there. I never thought for a moment that they were OTT even though Gurmeet mentions in the interview that they may have acted and over acted. By the way can I tell you how happy I was to see an interview with both of them after such a long time. I love watching the two of them give interviews. I feel Kratika hardly ever lets Gurmeet talk. LOL And Gurmeet is absolutely happy to let Kratika take the centre stage when it comes to giving interviews.

"... jo tune mujhe thaam na liya, oh sau Rab di"
A fun "catch me if you can" game, with Aarti trying to grab hold of Yash while he slips beyond her reach - and he looks mighty proud of himself, too. 😆 His face falls instantly when he feels her grip on his shoulder and he has to face the punishment of Aarti pulling his head this way and that - the expression on Gurmeet's face is hilarious.

This was absolutely cute. I loved how almost for every sau rabadi, Aarti holds Yash's head and turns it this way and that way. It was like watching a puppet show but I wasn't sure who was the puppet and who was the puppeteer. I guess both of them were taking turns. LOL!

"Gir jaaoongi, main marr jaaoongi, jo tune mujhe thaam na liya..."
The dance step with the drum is super impressive! And right after Yash does his bit of showing off with the drum, he realizes that Aarti is tripping over her feet and he rushes over to her with a horrified look on his face. Just as he's about to land next to her, she straightens up (that's probably as straight as she could get at that point) and he skids to a halt behind her but stays there to catch her just in case she actually does fall...The step where she twirls and falls into his arms, he actually ends up dragging her backwards, only to get bumped out of the way by Aarti immediately afterwards. But he's not going to let it end with that! His ego has been hurt, so he bumps HER out of the way, or tries to, at least. She realizes what he was trying to do and gives him a pouty "katti!" gesture, but Yash diffuses her anger by doing that step where they move their heads from one side to the other (they did that in Galyat Sankli Sonyachi as well) and that does the trick. The dhol-man's arrival seems to spark off an idea in Yash's head - and Aarti's hysterical laughter encourages Yash until the dhol-man acknowledges Aarti's presence and tries to move towards her...A tussle ensues, with Yash trying to shield his wife from unwanted attention. Aarti tries to cover up her face with her pallu (whose idea was that? Kratika looks super cute frowning and pouting like that!) and starts stomping away from her husband...

Oh my Borna. I have watched the song/dance sequence so many times yet after reading your thoughts I felt like I missed out on a lot of things and had to watch it couple more times. 😆

The dhol man bit was absolutely hilarious. Thank goodness Yash didn't do his karate chops on the poor guy with the big belly all because the guy was getting too close for comfort with Yash babu's darling wife. And Aarti's little pouty act with her pallu was absolutely hilarious.

I loved that bit where Yash is hugging her from behind and she runs her hand down his neck and then turns around and outs her head on his shoulder. It was so adorably cute. I loved how you said that in that moment they both had found peace. Their souls were so attuned to each other in that one moment.

I am not sure if it was in the same scene or one prior to this, Yash runs his hand down her face and finally holds her chin but just before his fingers rest on her chin he does a gentle tap on her chin which I thought was so so cute.

And then the rest of the scene back home was fantastic too. The nose joke. Aarti urging Yash to open up his heart. It was almost like she knew deep down that Yash loved her.

Watching all this I thought to myself that Aarti wanted to go to pub and experience all the feelings that come with such an outing with Yash but he had denied it. Yet here they are sharing a similar experience that eventually lead to such a life changing experience for both of them.

Thank you Borna. See, how much more enriching you make it for us. They way you dissect a scene makes me feel like you were there at the sets directing Kratika and Gurmeet how to act.😆

Can't wait for your part 2. That is the one I so desperately want to read. I am already so much in love with that whole segment but I know you will take it to another level for me. All right, I am going to turn off for the night. Its been a long day but an even longer one awaits tomorrow. I was hoping I could get to Maham's VM too but that will have to wait until tomorrow.

Wowww Bornaa u really can do magic with words 👏👏👏👏..while reading your take each and every AarYa step of Jai jai shiv shankar was flashing in front of my eyes and I lvoed the naughtiness with which both were dancing and flirting with each other .. it was pure fun both had while dancing and thats the beauty of the whole song and dance ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

After that their entire drunk act was so well done ..I loved the way even in drunk state Aarti made sure Aman does not dare to say anything against her Yash ji .. she showed her possessiveness there 😳😳 and I felt Yash too wanted to pour his heart out to her but he just stopped himself .. it was such a wonderful moment between both before they took their relationship to next level 😳

GC-KS together were magic indeed 😳😳

Borna 🤗!!!!

What can I say? It was one of the most brilliant analysis I have ever read. You certainly have a way with words and I loved everything you wrote. With every description, I was able to "see" the episode again but through your eyes and found new things to discover. Kirthi's right, it's like you were the one directing the scenes. Fabulous! Thursday's episode has entered into my books as one of my absolute favorites. I too agree with you that Gurmeet and Kratika are never OTT which is why it's so fun to watch them act because it all looks so natural and real. I loved watching the Kratika-Gurmeet interview for the dance segment. It was utterly cute. Can't wait to read the second part!

Borna, this was beautiful and it is only part 1! 😲

I see what good things come when I make you do your homework. Lesson learned. 🤓

Anyway, you know, I realised only two days after the episode that I had watched an incomplete version of the JJSS dance, and I rushed to campus to catch the rest. It was totally worth it because like you describe there was so much going on under the surface, with the Yash-Aarti dynamic, so many layers of feeling that were emerging as they let go of their inhibitions and just had fun with each other. But what I think I loved most and you have described to perfection is the carefree Aarti sort of zooming all over the place and a responsible Yash, who is having fun, but whose primary concern was to be near his wife and protect her from anything that should threaten her innocent enjoyment of the moment. The way he masked all his protective gestures with dance and..well, playing a drum on the sleazy priest's belly 😆 was totally endearing because he didn't want to make a scene, but he was super conscious of keeping Aarti safe and to himself exclusively as they enjoyed this moment.

SIGH...get it together, present Yash! 😡

@Pearl: Thank you for reading, Pearl! I'm glad you liked it!
@Enid: Oh goodness, thank you so much! I honestly don't think that these write-ups of mine are very heavy on analysis, although I do try my best to read Gurmeet/Kratika's expressions...Sometimes it's relatively easy, sometimes it's not, but I think there's so much power in the way they underplay every emotion and I can't stop myself from writing out my thoughts and reactions, whatever they're worth! I was originally planning to write a DotD for every episode, but it's hard to manage...I'll try to write when something captures my attention and refuses to go away, like with episodes 149 and 150.
@Sudha: Thank you, thank you! I keep wondering just how many times I'm going to sit here after an episode of PV and say, "Wow, those two are amazing." I've lost count...Hence the focus on the subtleties that the PV team brings out through their actors on a daily basis.
@rajampriyab: Thanks for reading! Glad you liked it!
@pikachu: Thank you!

@Kadeen: Sublime, consistent, and careful...Those are three perfect words to describe the talents of the cast and crew behind the making of this show! I have no idea just how much detailing goes into the writing, but from what I can see of the final episode that makes it to our screens, I am convinced that a great deal of effort is taken to communicate every nuance to us...Whether audiences pick up on those tiny moments is up to them. I obviously can't go a day without reflecting on those moments! The intoxication route is a very risky one indeed, and the main reason I love this JJSS sequence is because the events leading up to it and even those after it have none of the stereotypical craziness that I've seen in other shows' Holi/bhang sequences. A thousand thanks to the creatives for successfully obliterating a terrible memory related to this song...Thank you, Gurmeet and Kratika, for being overenthusiastic within limits! That's tough to do, but you did it wonderfully.
I'm flattered that you didn't have to look at the video for this, Kadeen, because that is a great compliment coming from you - and you know how much I love your descriptive writing!
@padmavar: Thank you so much for taking the time to read this!
@Zetter: Oh, Zet, I loved those moments, too! Thank you for emphasizing the contrast between Yash's first reaction and his final one. They started out going different ways, converging and diverging many times, but ultimately they do find each other and find peace in each other's presence!
@gcluv: Thank you for taking the time to read through this! I'm glad I provided a bit of a different perspective on the scenarios.
