*blinks away tears*
This part was so touching, scripted! My eyes are all moist still and I am so eager for another update now!
Aarti's past broke my heart - orphaned at a tender age, unwanted by her relatives, subjected to abuse and left to live on scraps of food...She doesn't deserve these continued struggles, but with Yash proclaiming his undying love for another woman just hours after getting married, it seems like fate is throwing yet another painful slap her way.
"Anewed by their love, it had taken Aarti many months to adjust to her new life. For the first time since her parents had died, she had her own room, new clothes during every festival, and food that was not spoiling rotten. And no one used her as a punching bag. It had taken her a long time to get accustomed to loving hugs, and pats of appreciation, for she had been so used to slaps and punches. She no longer fliched whenever someone came into her bubble of safety, and what were once frown marks, were diminishing to be lines of smiles.
She was so grateful, for she knew not many others had her luck. If she had to, she would pay for the love the Dubeys had bestowed upon her, with her life."
@bold: My heart went out to Aarti when I read this part in particular. Just the image of Aarti shrinking away from someone who tries to reach out to her is so, so heartbreaking. (And the fact that I can vividly picture Kratika as Aarti through your writing just makes everything even more impactful!)
In a way, Aarti is "paying" for the Dubeys' love with her life, isn't she? Those "borrowed moments" and now this "borrowed relationship" of putting on a charade of being Yash's happily married wife.
"The girl, who had no real family, no real parents, could not even have a real husband. Fate, as it was proved again, did not side with an orphan child. But Aarti did not wail or lament. She had lived a life on borrowed moments, and knew how to make the most of them. She would use her stay, her relationship with the Schindias to live like a real married women, for when the charades ended, she would use the memories to help put her to sleep every night.
Feeling a single tear trail down her cheek, she got up off the bed, and made way towards the bathroom."
"...when the charades ended..."
This sentence made me wonder just how many setbacks Aarti has had to brave in her life so far. The memories that she is expecting to take out of this game of charades seem to be happy ones, ones that she can cherish - and ones that will drive away tears at night? 💔
That last sentence...Complete heartbreak.
Fantastic update! And I'm off to read all 4 chapters again!
PS - I like how you alternate POVs with each chapter. Does that mean I can expect Yash to come up in chapter 5? I feel like punching him right now, haha. I also love how even though this isn't a punar vivaah, there are plenty of elements in this story that have the same feel as the show, whether it's the relationships or characterizations or the sensitivity that shows in every sentence, and that makes this even more of a pleasure to read.

Hey scripted! Is that the name I should call you by or do you have a preference =) ?Let me just tell you how glad I am that you broke your silence!! If you hadn't, this forum would have missed a very intellectual member! I can't tell you enough times that I love the way you write. I hardly read FFs.. only if something really catches my attention I read it ... and yours happens to be one of them.
The way you describe the characters and their every movement in detail is remarkable! With such concise words you are able to draw an entire scene so beautifully that it leaves me in awe!
Coming to the story .. I am already hooked by the beauty of it! The way Aarti doesn't fight back with Yash about his declaration just mere hours after their wedding is astonishing yet admirable! I feel so terribly awful after reading her back story about how abused she was during her childhood =( ... that is just too painful. She has such scumbags as excuse for relatives its pathetic! The Dubeys are so lovely to have adopted her as their own child =)!!
And the secret criterion for marriage was also surprising. But I guess she felt indebted towards the Dubeys and didn't want them to have any hassle when it came to something to do with her specifically.
I also feel for Yash. His parents, instead of hearing him out or understanding him, went against his wishes and got him hastily married to Aarti.
I do look forward to seeing the next installment in this story ... and how Aarti really manages to play this bride act and whether or not Yash finds his love, Arpita.
Amazing writing, such incredible storytelling! Kudos 👏

That was SO touching...😭 I absolutely loved how you presented Aarti's back story. My heart went out to the poor girl... Fate surely is something... You cannot fight it. Orphaned at a young age, disowned by so-called family, eager for a little bit of love... Aarti has gone through so much... It brought tears to my eyes... My favourite parts:

It had taken her a long time to get accustomed to loving hugs, and pats of appreciation, for she had been so used to slaps and punches. She no longer flinched whenever someone came into her bubble of safety, and what were once frown marks, were diminishing to be lines of smiles.

Beautifully written... She finally got someone who loved and cared for her genuinely...

The girl, who had no real family, no real parents, could not even have a real husband.

Feeling a single tear trail down her cheek, she got up off the bed, and made way towards the bathroom.

I feel so sorry for her... Such a painful experience it must have been for her...

You know, scripted (is that what you want us to call you😆) that you are going on the right track when you get such long comments on your FF 😳, since no one has the time to write such long comments on an FF. So if you see people like Borna (MelodiousDreams) and Zahra (ZsterMG) writing such long comments, you should know that you have struck the right chord. 😃

Your story is beautiful, more so because of the vivid description you give for every character... waiting for Yash's POV too. 😳 Please update soon, cuz your FF is growing on me quite fast.

P.S. Thank you for coming out on I-F, or we would have missed such a mature writer. 👏

this is a wonderful story... u write so well... i wasn't too sure if i wanted to read a fanfiction where the premise is different from that of the show... but your introduction seemed interesting and then when i started reading the first chapter, your writing drew me in completely... your aarti is quite intriguing... i cannot wait to get more insight on yash's character as well see how you take this love story forward... i'm going to keep coming back to this thread every day to look for a new update...
