@InduG64: Indu, I absolutely love your "two cents" on the episode! The subtitles you've used to designate the main points of the dramatic events are so, so apt. I especially love the words you've used to describe Aarti's and Yash's emotional states...Aarti has indeed been keeping quiet - out of respect, I assumed - but she has spoken up when she feels that the line has been crossed. I'm thankful that the woman has enough maturity to know not to make a scene in public - that's what her silence and subdued nature means to me at this point during the wedding rituals.
The point you've made about Aarti's identity being all that she really has to hold onto, what with her being an orphan and having gone through hardships with her in-laws as her support system...Having this identity taken away from her in an instant is like taking away her life, essentially...
Yash is completely lost in his self-created maze...reminds me of Theseus in the labyrinth...probably not the perfect analogy, actually, but the complexity of his emotional attachment to anything and everything that is associated with Arpita isn't going to make life any easier for Aarti or himself when they get married. That last sentence of yours in that paragraph is beautiful!
Random aside not directed at anyone in particular: Yash was wearing THAT shirt at the end of the episode! LOL! That was one of the few things that hit me like a ton of bricks just now as I watched the dupatta-kangan scene again. The sound of Aarti trying to detach her dupatta from Arpita's kangan, the shirt that created more communication barriers between Aarti and Yash...symbolism everywhere! I love how meaningful every little thing seems to be!

And then she observes another man, Yash, who without laying eyes on Aarti defends her in front of his despotic father. In all probabilities, when Shobha put the Scindia family with all their quirkiness on one side of the balance and only Yash on the other, given her experience she found Yash outweighing the other. And she put her bet on Yash. Instinctively she knows that when it boils down to it, Yash will rise up to the occasion and hold Aarti's hand, and not abandon her like her own son did. Other than that, she trusts Aarti's mental strength and her spirit to pull her through all the other problems.

It's fantastic that a show like this one is bringing up all sorts of issues that we may not have considered before...Things that we, like Aarti, have never had to face...Aarti as a character and symbol of today's Indian woman is of increasing interest to me, especially now after this episode and the precap for tomorrow. How she deals with all of the obstacles that the past (both her own past and Yash's past) is throwing at her and how she finally pierces through Yash's unyielding exterior to settle in his heart forever is going to be an amazing journey to watch. The tagline of this show really couldn't be more apt: Yash and Aarti will have to battle the memories of their "past life" and the complicated, crisscrossing, suffocating links of that life to their present to be able to finally let go and begin a new life...together.

@Melodious Dreams: Superb take.
"Yash's unyielding exterior"----and we only saw a glimpse of the fallout if someone so much as takes the names of Arpita's and Aarti's names in one breath. Aarti has a long way to go before she even makes a dent to this armour. She needs to first pull herself out from the deep recesses of her own past before she starts to willingly rehabilitate herself.

Thank you! And my name is Borna 😊
@bold: This is another major complication, perhaps the biggest one of all...I'm really curious to know how Aarti will do this, and when! Is she going to "dent the armor" after healing herself, or is Yash going to unwittingly help her heal first? I don't see how either of those possibilities is going to happen at this point. Everything's hazy and dark...The best thing about this show (and the scariest, for me, haha) is that we really can't predict how things are going to turn out...There is a long, rough road ahead for Yash and Aarti purely because of their previous marriages and the "emotional baggage" that is tied to them, for lack of a better phrase. I'm seeing a rather dreary picture of their punar vivaah right now...The handcuff/umar bhar ki qaid analogy just keeps coming back again and again! From the first memory of Prashant that we got to see, to the engagement rings being a symbol of handcuffs, to Arpita's kangans being like another pair of handcuffs...Wow. Another interesting thing that I just remembered: Aarti was the one who asked/reminded the policeman to unlock the handcuffs in that episode; she is the one who ends up ripping her dupatta and freeing it from the kangan...an indication of Aarti's strength, perseverance, and will power? Or am I just overanalyzing?

I don't know...I wish we really could not predict...but we do know that the leads will end up together in the end don't we? After a LOT of melodrama. Indian tv is too predictable.

I actually think it would be more realistic if they didn't end up together (though I desperately want them to...except I'm a little ticked off with Yash at the moment, so i don't know 😆).
This show is hardly high on the realism factor.
I think there are some people don't/can't/won't move on...Yash might be one of those people.

BTW, Have you seen Rishta.com ? There was an episode in which a young divorced single mother comes looking for a parter...to start afresh. Her ex-husband shows up at the nth moment and she wavers...but then she ends up not going back to him.
That was much more "realistic" ...but then again the whole show was, IMO.

P.S.
@Melodiousdreams:

re the significance of Aarti freeing herself from the handcuffs and the kangans (who knew kangans could be dangerous?😆 )

I only hope you're not reading too much into it 😊...in the sense that I would like Aarti to continue to be a strong character...right now she's too blinded by her duty toward Ansh...She doesn't realize that if she's unhappy then Ansh will be unhappy too...you can't cover up misery forever...

@Nightstarr :One interesting point in your take that if at all her name is changed ,then it means in future ,Yash himself will change it back to Aarti and make an announcement that Aarti is not a replacement of anyone but his wife who has her own identity in this house 😳😳

About the hindu marrying into a muslim family I think that might have to do with the whole idea of if someone converts to Islam they usually pick a muslim name to be recognized with and more often than if someone from a different religion marries into a muslim family they would have to convert as I don't think the Nikha would be accepted. But then again it might have to do more with regional than religion aspect.

About the name changing, yea i tried to come up with something positive about that but honestly I don't want that happen as I would like Aarthi to stand up for herself and her identity!

That's true, Mira...But I was referring to the unpredictability of the process/journey of exactly how Yash and Aarti will end up together, more on an emotional level...At least I'm not sure how things are going to turn out - I can't map out their actions and say "Oh, she's going to fall in love first" or "He's going to fall in love first" because they're both stuck in a quagmire and keep trapping themselves further. I'm much more interested in how they're both going to face their inner demons, so to speak. I've learned to look past the "objective realism" factor when it comes to Indian shows...Now I just look for realism within the universe/world that has been created for the characters of the story, if that makes any sense. I'm much more invested in the emotions of a story, so I'm looking forward to seeing what this show has to offer 😊.
I have seen R.com - I barely remember the specifics of each episode since it's been a while, but yeah, that show was different in many respects! It was a great show!
As far as dailies go, I'm just glad that amidst all the drama that we're witnessing, nothing is coming across to me as too OTT or cringeworthy to me, especially where Yash and Aarti's personalities are concerned. I'm going to give the show a lot of time to develop each character's personality before I jump to conclusions about an issue...There are lots of layers that haven't been revealed yet, so I'm just going to keep waiting...Let's see where things take me! 😊

@MelodiousDreams:
Borna right? may i call you Borna?

gotcha...

Yes, I am keeping my fingers crossed that they don't do anything too cringeworthy either...
and when it comes to the leads falling in love...i also hope they are not too predictable about. it ..he falls for her because she takes care of P&P and she falls for him because he takes care of Ansh...boring...

that's too simplistic for Yash and Aarti.. here's hoping for something complex for these complex and difficult characters...that's what I love about them...they're three dimensional...not all good, not all the time anyway, their hearts are in the right place, but sometimes they behave till total asses...that's incredibly real and human...

So here's hoping for a gradual thawing and a gradual heating up 😳

Yes, that's me! 😆 Of course you may - you didn't even need to ask, really! 😊
Haha, the way you put it, I'm hoping that the "mother/father" aspect is part of the process of their warming up to having each other around...The relief/gratefulness that comes with not being a single parent anymore, you know? But I'm also thinking...the way Yash is behaving towards Ansh right now, his wholehearted acceptance of Ansh may very well be the first step in elevating Aarti's opinion of her husband in her eyes. It's probably not going to be the same for Yash, since we know how possessive he is about Arpita and all...
Aaah, I'm just not going to bother stressing about it. Whatever happens, I'll keep trying to find the positives in each situation as best as I can.
@bold: Agree with every word! The complexity of these two characters is being developed very well (and maintained!) and I'm sure that things won't be sorted out so easily. There's going to be resistance on both sides for a while at least. I feel pretty awful for both of them...Stuck in a stalemate.
