I still remember an incident when Arun Govil was smoking in public and people were very upset with him as how can Ram smoke.. He had tough time later on being Ram...

Yes dear, people often forget that actors who are in mythological shows are real people and not Gods, so when they make mistakes, some of them take it very hard. But it's not really the actors' fault as they are not perfect and they are not Gods. Even Gurmeet is not a perfect person, but we love him because he is a versatile actor who can pull off any role. I think it depends on the audience's maturity how they receive mythological actors.
I heard people used to garland their TV sets when the older Ramayan and Mahabharat aired 25 years ago and touch the feet of the main leads whenever they were seen in public. As cute as such devotion may seem to some people, I find it a bit ridiculous as I cannot fathom how any mature human being could consider actors to be Gods.
So yes, I am happy that Gurmeet broke out of his Ram image and became Maan and now Yash, but still I see him most in his Ram image. I don't consider him to be God, but that image with the long yellow dhoti, a flower garland around his neck, and a dhanush baan in his hands just stuck, you know?😆
And yes, I was happy that the article mentioned his role in Ramayan, because it's been such a long time since that happened.😆 Even though Ramayan ended in 2009, it's always nice to hear some mention of it for us fans.😊

Thanks for sharing!

Not only is it a positive review, but it also highlights the best of the show! The casting is perfect, the actors truly have completely gelled in with their characters, the sets are magnificent and completely in line with the status of the families, and the storytelling is hands down flawless! :)

Now here is a mature, balanced review. 👍🏼

It very briefly and justly assessed the strengths and weaknesses of the show, mirroring the sentiments we have been expressing all last week and into this one. I totally agree that the biggest strength of this show is the star cast, especially the leads who balance perfectly, standing out and blending in with the rest of the cast.

I agree with the negative points too. The Scindia house is a bit fantastical, though the Dubey house is much more believable. HOWEVER I don't mind the grandeur at all. It reminds me of 90s bollywood movies which I miss sorely. 😆 And as for the melodrama, there has to be a dose of that for the show to reach out to a wider audience. Otherwise it will become a niche offering and that is not what they are going for.

I think they referred to GC as no longer Ram because it went better with KS being no longer JKR. Glad that that it brought a smile to Ramayan fans' faces though. 😊

Thanx for sharing... melodrama is my problem... GC & Kritika are really doing well but I don't like two characters from Jyoti...first the MIL & second arti's ex-husband.

Yes dear, that's what I was thinking...Jhansi Ki Rani and Ramayan were both Sagar Arts shows, so maybe that's why they referred to them as JKR and Ram...even Kratika did another show, didn't she, though it was before JKR?
