I still remember an incident when Arun Govil was smoking in public and people were very upset with him as how can Ram smoke.. He had tough time later on being Ram...
Yes dear, people often forget that actors who are in mythological shows are real people and not Gods, so when they make mistakes, some of them take it very hard. But it's not really the actors' fault as they are not perfect and they are not Gods. Even Gurmeet is not a perfect person, but we love him because he is a versatile actor who can pull off any role. I think it depends on the audience's maturity how they receive mythological actors.
I heard people used to garland their TV sets when the older Ramayan and Mahabharat aired 25 years ago and touch the feet of the main leads whenever they were seen in public. As cute as such devotion may seem to some people, I find it a bit ridiculous as I cannot fathom how any mature human being could consider actors to be Gods.
So yes, I am happy that Gurmeet broke out of his Ram image and became Maan and now Yash, but still I see him most in his Ram image. I don't consider him to be God, but that image with the long yellow dhoti, a flower garland around his neck, and a dhanush baan in his hands just stuck, you know?😆
And yes, I was happy that the article mentioned his role in Ramayan, because it's been such a long time since that happened.😆 Even though Ramayan ended in 2009, it's always nice to hear some mention of it for us fans.😊
