We can only hope that this serves as a wake up call for the makers. It is second last after RMJ.

Yeah, I was expecting a drop as well. When you have such high numbers in your very first week, things are bound to go down in the second week as the storyline stabilizes and slows down the pace. But like you said, I am glad it stayed above a 2.0, which is still quiet good for a show who is only 10 episodes in, for most shows it takes about a month or two to hit the 2.0 mark. And with the engagement this week, and then the wedding in the weeks ahead, I am sure that the storyline will pick up and with it the audience interest will rise as well! Now that Yash & Aarti have come face to face, hopefully things start moving at a faster pace, so that we get to the real essence of the show soon!

And you're absolutely right about the other shows, it's a late night slot, but PV faces really tough competition from all the other 3 top channels, BALH is Sony's top grosser, NBTNMKK is steadily increasing it's numbers, and MKAP is usually always stable in the high 2s, so it's not going to be easy, but I am sure we'll make our place in the top very soon :)

Wednesday is back and hereby we bring you ratings of the top shows. On the viewers demand we have earlier raised the amount of shows from 10 to 15 in our list but now onwards we would update you first 20 shows of our small screen.

Its just second week ..so just relax everyone ..any new show takes time to pick up ..once the story is stable ..it will automatically climb up the ladder 😳

Well the silver lining is that our show has disproved the theory that:

Tears = TRPs. 👍🏼

Also, I was thinking this might be an experimental phase for the writers/PH. How much will ratings drop if they do/don't do certain things? If they have this information, they can better understand what about the show is working and what is not and tailor it to that demand. Like for DABH, clearly it became apparent that Bhabo atyachar was working so they have stepped on the acceleration pedal there. Here hopefully the message they take away is that less Yash and weepy Aarti is a surefire formula for viewers' frustration and changing the channel.

See the first week was perfect so they found out what the numbers would be initially if everything was flawless. Maybe now they wanted to see how much leeway they have for dragging, focusing on one character etc. At least I hope this is true. 😕

@Saman: Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. First of all the CVs weren't sure how the first week was going to do TRP wise, so that's why they slowed the story in the second week, so that if the initial results are disappointing they can make the required adjustments to the script without the story having moved along too much. Now they have had the results of two weeks that were basically the completely opposite of each other in terms to both the pace and the story telling, so now they have a better idea of what attracts and repels the viewers, so they can move forward with this is mind, and plan the future episodes in a more constructive way.

And the first few weeks are always lagging in every show, because they have to build both the background of the story and the characters, and that was the exact reason why this is dragging. After the marriage, once the real story starts that's when things are really going to start picking up, at least as far as the storyline is concerned, and that's when the TRPs start coming in. DABH actually started on a very low note, but once it started gaining momentum, there was no looking back! It has been a wonderful start for PV so I am sure it will fare a lot better in the coming weeks! Also, the CVs need to keep in mind that the story needs to engaging because there are entirely way too many good options at 10:30 p.m. slot :)

According to TAM, Colors reclaimed its third place in the GEC ratings in Week 9 ' 12, as the channel gained 11 GRPs to reach 211 GRPs and replace Zee TV as the third placed GEC. Zee slipped by 16 GRPs to end the week at 206.

Star Plus experienced a 20 GRP drop last week, but continues to lead the GECs with 259 GRPs.

Sony also got a drop in GRPs as it reduced by 15 GRPs to end the week at 207, just one ahead of third placed Colors.

Fifth placed Sab TV's GRPs fell by three points and the channel ended the week at 131.

Life OK's GRPs increased by six points to reach 87.

Sahara One, Star Utsav, DD1 and Zee Smile completed the top 10 GECs for the week.

Nothing sells like realism and this week, the TRPS of Crime Patrol Dastak reflect the same with a TRP of 5.89 making it the number 1 show not only on Sony but across Channels.

Dropping to the No 2 spot this week is Dia aur Baati Hum on StarPlus with 5.41 as its weekly score. Looks like Bhabho and her animosity with Sandhya and Suraj is churning out some serious drama.

Hum Sab Main Hai CID vouches ACP Pradyuman, as the show completed 15 years this week. While the stories get more and more interesting, looks like the audience are growing by the number too over the years. CID scores 4.82 making it the 3rd most watch show across the country.

Climbing the charts yet again is Yeh Rista Kya Keh Laata Hai with a new twist of Rashmi and her impending divorce. With traditions once more locking horns with todays problems the show scores a 4.11 this week finishing 4th.

Saath Nibhana Saathiya lands at no 5th postion with Rashi creating more rifts between Kokila and her mother-in-law.This week the shows settles itself with the TRP oF 3.94.This is for the first time the show has slipped 3 places.

With a drop in its numbers Is Pyar Ko Kya Naam Doon joins Balika Vadhu with a TRP of 3.86 in the 6th spot. Arnav vs Jagya and Khushi vs Anandi it is at 8 PM .

The baby drama has really worked in Icchas favor as the show continues to stay in the Top 10 with 3.71 as its TRP in Uttaran at position no 7.

Manvis undettered spirit in wanting to bring Virat and Maya together has given rise to alot of fun scenes between the duo hence giving the show a TRP of 3.59. Eh Hazaro is the No 8 show this week.

Old is gold, and as they get older, their love gets thicker. People still love the purity of love Manav and Archana share for one another. With 3.24 as TRP the Pavitra Rishta is now at the No 9th spot.

Following its predecessor, Yahan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli with double Abha's and two Karan's thankfully has still maintained to stay in the single digit TRP rank of 10 with 3.24

Misses of the Week:The Shows that have missed the bus this Week are Parichay with 3.01 and Sasural Simar Ka and Bade Acche Lagte Hai with a TRP of 2.91 weeks after being in the top ten list. One hopes with Ram and Priya coming close this week the TRPs of the show may look up.

Rangmunch Recommends:

Jamuna Paar a todays Cinderella Tale of a sweet, rich young girl, and a carefree boy of a totally different class has had an interesting first week. While the show finished at 0.59 in its very first Week on Imagine TV, one hopes this South Delhi and Jamuna Paar based love story is sure to catch up.

Another show that has had an interesting start is Amrit Manthan, a show about a royal Family and two sisters who are diametrically opposite.

Gurmeet Choudary has had the audience hooked even with his new Show Punar Vivah as it has managed to score a TRP of 2.14 in its third week.

With a bold theme and portrayal Shubh Vivah marks the come back of Ejaaz Khan on Sony TV. Do try this out too!

Trends: This week saw a toppling of quiet a few shows but the names in the top 10 remained constant. We hope some shows that couldnt make it to the Top Ten would manage to do so next week!
