As much as this current track is about Vik discovering his love for Sarita, it is also about Vik enjoying Sarita's mothering, vicariously through his son. I like how the CVs have brought this about. Each time Vik watches Sarita dote over his boy, and each time he sees them interact, he gets lost in a smiley world of his own. On the surface, of course, it is all about the magic that Sarita is supposedly weaving in his life, but deep down somewhere, being an orphan, he has no doubt missed a mother's love. Also this is the main reason that the only way Sarita can have a say over this difficult man is by chiding him as a mother would. That appears to be the magic she weaves. A grown and egoistical man who can terrorize the entire household is reduced to a five year old in front of Sarita, when it comes down to the basics, such as food, clothes, or parenting arrangements. At the risk of sounding Freudian, I think this is an important time of healing for Vikrant, which needs to take place before he can open his heart. Although there is some enigma surrounding her death, we do not have enough information about Janhavi, Vik's late wife, and whether she was able to touch this aspect of Vikrant's psyche. For Sarita, too, this mothering has an important place. It is indeed as a mother, not a wife, she entered the Suryavanshi mansion, and mothering both father and son appears to be her way of justifying her role and finding her place in her new and unfamiliar world, and in Vik's heart.

Spledid post, aimf! Love it! And I agree with you on everything!

I love complex characters in soaps! There is so much mystery, heartache, vulnerability etc in Vikrant. That is what makes him an interesting character. There is so much to explore and figure out where he is concerned!

You have rightly pointed out, that being an orphan, he has missed out on all this and becomes submissive when sarita literally parents him too! Love it! Behind the hard exterior is a boy and an adult who craves for the affection and love of a woman, but subconciously.

Loved today's scenes, as the dialogues were just apt and wonderful. I just floved visa's convo! Love this sarita who takes the reigns in her hands instead of sulking around!

Cheers! 😃

I also want to add as much as this track is about vikrant it's also about Sarita filling in the empty gaps of her life through abhi
She was childless for 10 years but she feels complete through abhi
Vikrant will rediscover himself as a dad while Sarita will rediscover herself as a mom 😃
Love your post !

Great point,dear and I agree.
Sarita had been in a loveless marriage, where her love and affection was not reciprocated for ten years. But for daadi and shiela, she never found any sense of belonging in the family..She probably was never given this much importance as she is being given by abhi. That is why she is thrilled to get such unadultrated love and affection from an innocent child. Which has done wonders to her self confidence..she knows that abhi loves her and it gives her a sense of being an important part of someone's life. And that she is responsible for him and has to take the reigns and move forward, for her child..i.e abhi.

She has had her share of heart ache too and will take a lot of time to open up as she might not be willing to trust anyone with her heart that soon. So it is about both of them learning and discovering each other.

Hope I made sense...am not that great with words. Correct me if I was wrong anywhere! :)

aimf.. love your post! 👍🏼
ok lets see there are 3 unlucky persons, Sarita with her past experience of loveless marriage for 10 years, Abhi who lost his mom at tender age and Vikrant who was an orphan with a son and lost his wife many years ago..

they were suffering for many years for their misfortunes. When they saw each other for the first time, Vikrant found a wifey type in Sarita and Abhiman found a mother figure in Sarita. It just Sarita never seen them as her family because of her love and loyalty to Raj..

When ViSa marriage took place, Sarita soon realized her life might not be perfect but she was the entire world to Abhiman. For that reason she finally choose to stay and started her new life as Abhiman mom and later as Vikrant's wife. Her life is more meaningful than before and I think she is quite happy with her life now. 😊. By staying together with Abhi and Vikrant she finally finds her true happiness 😊

Fabulous Post. I am completely in love with Vikranth's characterisation...he has many shades to his personality. He is still a vulnerable child under rigid exterior. Sarita is filling his emptiness, addressing his fears and insecrities with her care and affection. She knows to handle his mood swings and mirror his faults for the best interest of his son. She got the attitude to deal with his arrogance that attracts him to her

There is a long road to travel before they become man and wife in all true senses. For now sarita is filing the lives of suryavanshi's with her love, care and warmth which inturn is filling the viod in her life. She is loving her new role of mother hen.

And I dont think Vikrant's first wife has had this effect on him...touching his subconscious fears. There is so much of mystery around his first wife...may be he'll open up his past in upcoming episodes as today sarita told she doesnt know anything abt his past

@ All

Thank you for your intelligently worded and well-written response. Much as the people who watch daily soaps desire predictability, it nice to see that the characters are slowly becoming multidimensional, and layered with levels of complexity that you mention, and that precisely makes them more interesting.

Sarita's main need is to be needed. For 10 years of marriage with Raj, in her own words, she was like a piece of furniture gathering dust, and losing the important value of self confidence in the process. Raj did not pay her any attention, and the her in-laws behaved more like outlaws in that they not only did not appreciate her talents, but also viciously terrorized her. Thanks to Abhi, Sarita finally feels useful, and is enjoying the contentment of being important and needed in someone's life. Further, Abhi loves her dearly, and Sarita was denied of this love certainly during her marriage with Raj, but perhaps also from her parents, who perhaps were well-meaning but dysfunctional people (at least the little we saw of them suggests it).

They say adversity builds character. Horrendous as her marriage was, it strangely caused Sarita to mature as a human being, to become strong enough to handle uncommon pressures in her life. Seen in this light, the inhumanities heaped upon her by the likes of Kamla and Sohunlal seem like musquito-bites when confronted with the more calculated and nuanced cruelties of Vampdana, and the unpredictable anger of Vikrant.

Vikrant, on the other hand is what can be termed a "self-made-man." He takes his abilities, his confidence, power, and influence for granted and uses it to get ahead in the world and gain success. This is his only modus operandi. The subtleties of interpersonal interactions, and the fact that human relationships, especially human beings are unpredictable creatures are lost to this Business King, who even looked upon his own remarriage as a deal.

This partnership between Vik and Sarita is exciting, primarily because Sarita's love and caring might just let Vikrant drop his guard and start to trust her. Sarita, on the other hand also has her own fears. Although she is very comfortable in the role of mothering Vikrant along with Abhi, and taking care of all his needs, Vik's open admiration of her makes Sarita happy, but also uncomfortable somewhere deep down, as it is an unfamilar and scary terrain. Sarita is not used to being admired as a woman, and besides is in a hard place as she is deeply concerned about Raj's well being, and his obsessive possessiveness towards her.

Even though, as several of us have prophesied, this budding trust will soon give way to misunderstanding and anger, let us hope that this dismantling of Vik's pedestal for Sarita and the ensuing chaos is also done in as tasteful a way as the set up for this closeness has been.

Loved your post and its focus on the mothering nature that attracts Vikrant. I think a lot of subconscious factors are being addressed here. The look on Vikrant's face was amazing when Sarita was apologizing to Abhi in her cute way. He was wonderous at her tactics and quick resolution as he began to realize the power a mother has in a child's life.
Growing up an orphan, he missed out on all this, and he knows Sarita's being the best mother she can be. Which is also making him feel a little inadequate; hence his lamenting about an unsuccessful father. She completely bowls him over with her confidence and determination, and just as he rules the business world as a proud king, she rules his home like a proud queen. I am so glad to see the effect this is having on Sarita's sense of self-worth - it's high time she realized the power she has over people. 😊

I think they should somewhere bring Sarita's mindset in this as well.. As she said one day for 10 years she was kept like furniture in the house.. and now she is loved and needed and in a way desired also...
Her love for Raj was out of duty which converted into love but Raj woke up very late ... whereas Vikram is not denying her position given he is not insecure about Raj and loosing Sarita.

Bt mothering she is fulfilling her own desires also ... though Vikrant keeps fighting with her but she knows somewhere deep down he has started admiring her.
