Friends, the second edition was going to be the Story of Sacrificial Lambs. Butdue to shortage of time, I have a mini Edition 2: A Medley for Soulmates & Sacrificial Lambs. Since this is going to be story going forward, more will be written in detail about this in coming week/weeks.

For now, the following medley of HIndi songs describes the journey of soulmates and sacrificial lambs.

Soulmates: Cinderella (Sarita the rag queen), Fairy Godmother (Divya the divine).

Alternate names are Siren for Sarita and Penelope for Divya

Sacrificial Lambs: Ramanujan (Gaurav the nerdy mathematician) & Rajkumar (Raj the sullen prince). Alternate names for Rajkumar is Odysseus

So before soulmates became soulmates and normal ones became bali ka bakras, this is how it started.

Part I

Part I

The Fairy Godmother and Rajkumar - She is crazy about Rajkumar and Rajkumar has fallen under her spell even though is pessimistic by nature. So she is singing this from the movie "Hero".

Part 2

Fairy leaves Rajkumar and he remains broken-hearted for 10 years. So for last 10 years, he is roaming streets of Bhopal to look for scraps and junk and singing the following song.

Part 3

Cinderalla doesn't care that Rajkumar had fairy in his life and wants him for herself. Her loving papa bribes Rajkumar's missing father and Rajkumar becomes the bali ka bakra. So he marries her and has a selective memory loss and gets partial vision loss. So he has forgotten that Cinderalla is his roommate. Also, he can't see Cinderalla living in his room as he becomes blind when Cinderalla comes in his line of vision. Also Cinderalla's other job is being a part-time siren. A siren used to make guys forget everything. Here this siren/Cinderalla makes him forget her and the rest of his family especially Dadi and Shiela.

So Cinderalla is singing this song for Rajkumar for last 10 years. But Rajkumar has become Odysseus who has put cotton in his ears to block siren's call. He resists her dance (striptease) because he has vowed to be faithful to his "wife" Penelope (Fairy Godmother).

But siren is undeterred and keeps on singing this song to Rajkumar, while doing her special "Striptease" dance.

Part 4

Cinderalla is now desperate as despite the help of mice (Dadi) and feather brain (Shiela), she is unable to get Rajkumar. So she in her desperation calls for fairy. Fairy listens to her and comes running. But meanwhile, she collides with Ramanujan while waiting for Rajkumar. Ramanujan falls for fairy and becomes love struck puppy. So he starts singing to fairy the following song from the movie "Safar".

"jo tumko ho pasand vahi baat kahenge,

tum agar mandap se utho toh Cinderalla ke ghar saath chalenge"

Note to Readers: In the movie, the heroine marries the second lead because she cannot be with the hero. The second lead commits suicide after singing this song and finding out that he is a substitute. Poor Ramanujan

Part 5: Meeting of Soulmates

Just as Ramanujan is about to live happily ever after with the fairy, comes the true soulmate Cinderalla and fairy falls for her deeply. So Cinderalla and Fairy start singing:

Hum bane tum bane ek duje ke liye

Cinderalla is Kamal Haasan and Fairy is Rati who is trying to convince Cinderalla of their janam-janam ka connection. In the end, Cinderalla is convinced.

Part 6: Making of Sacrificial Lambs (Bali ka Bakras)

So both Ramanujan and Rajkumar becomes bali ka bakra after the meeting of soulmates. So they join together as Rajkumar is an expert in dwelling in his misery. Ramanujan is a calm personality but he too decides to become miserable.

So they both start singing the following song from "Victoria 203"

Do bechare bina sahare.

Here the lock is Fairy's heart and both want a key to her heart. Ramanujan is Ashok Kumar and Rajkumar is Pran in the song.
